i saw more hits down the line and what not.. These sliders are driving me crazy lol i just want to perfect them so we can have realistic stats ... I just tryed something in a game i played.. I turned the CPU contact and power to zero but moved there batting skill to 100... What i did was throw nothing but meatballs and they hit a lot more base hits and zero homeruns... Then i tryed it with there power at 100 and there contact and batting skill set to zero... I saw a lot of balls hit off the wall playing in fenway it was like they had the power to hit a homerun but not the skill lol.. Im pretty good at math so im gona go do some quick research on batting statisics and try to come up with a formula lol...

Re: Die hard sliders!!

These are good tests, I'll be interested to see what you come up with. From my experience, power and contact need to be in the middle of the grid somewhere, and then adjust AI skill to your preference. Total control pitching has a huge effect too. From now on, I'm going to simply focus on the skill and TCP. I am using skill/power/contact at 10/40/50 as listed on the big slider thread. When my total control pitching was set too high, I was allowing major home runs and gappers. Then I lowered it a bit and basically shut the computer down with 1 run on 5 hits. The power/contact at 40/50 seems to be right on as you can still get strikeouts, but the computer can still make you pay for mistakes.

Re: Die hard sliders!!

Hey I played my fourth game with the revised sliders and i was losing to colorodo 6-2 in the seventh. i had like 3 opportunities to drive in guys but failed. Tulowitzki had a grand slam and holliday homered ,the other run came off a sac fly. Ive been walking their guys a lot cause certain situations kinda force me too. But thats what makes it realistic too. oh my game froze thats why i didnt finish but it was a great game through five until hamels gave up the grand salami. These settings are hard as hell but its a great challenge. Right now i dont feel like i can win a game but im gonna keep tryin with these. At least this game was closer than the last two.

Re: Die hard sliders!!

ok heres what i just did... I looked up all of the team stats for MLB last year and used there statistics...
Ok so if Batting skill is how often you hit the ball solid and get a base hit i used that for batting average.. And im gona say power is how often one of those solid hits are a homerun..

I took every teams overall batting average from last season and divided it by 30 which is 30 teams.. It comes out to ruffly a overall 268 Batting average.. So im gona set batting skill to 27

Next i added the total hits together of all the teams combined last year and it came to 44,977 hits.. Then i added total homeruns of all teams together which came to 4957 homeruns..
So i divided the total homeruns into the total hits and it comes out to an average of 9.7 so about 1 out of every 10 hits were a homerun last year... SO im going to set the power slider to 10

Im leaving contact at 22 since im getting a pretty realistic number of strikeouts with it set that way... Anyways ill play some games tonight with these settings and report back with results

Batting skill set to 27
Power at 10
Contact at 22

Re: Die hard sliders!!

yea i know im in the same boat. ALL I WANT TO DO IS GET THE SLIDERS PERFECT!!! it has taken so much tweaking and time. ur sliders have finally made it a little easier but there are a couple issues that have been talked about that still need to be tweaked more! lol its so frustrating
