Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions Thread

Jamaal Charles is a beast. Avg 179 Yards in 12 games. I played 3 of those but only got over 179 once. I didnt play a single playoff game. In the wild card he had 266 yards on 16 carries. 16.6 YPC. In the Conference Championship he had 226 on 17 carries. And that bum Adrian Peterson had 2,000 yards again as well.

Superbowl 48. Chiefs vs 49ers.

Alex Smith got his revenge. 404 yards. 3 touchdowns. And apparently Jamaal Charles was injured.

So some impressions. Chiefs shouldnt beat 49ers. Especially when simming. But **** happens so need to see those outcomes happen more to see if its a problem. All-Pro is way to easy. Some stats dont seem right. Tom Brady had 25 TD;s and 15 INT's. Seems off to me. No real big problems that i have seen. No glitches that i have noticed.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions Thread

Couple cool things I ran across practicing with my jags. Had a play were my QB backed into the FB, fell on his butt, got back up and scrambled out of the pocket just in time to evade a incoming Calais Campbell and throw a 30 yard dart down field. on another note I moved Denard Robinson (former Michigan QB) back to QB and his passes wobbled in the air as compared to my normal QB who could throw the same pass with a perfect spiral. Also Denard Robinson in generl is a beast especially if you keep him at RB and used the wild cat. Another big thing for me is that WRs actually go up and attack the ball most of the time. It's really nice to see them fight the DB.

The qb accuracy is to high and the dive tackles happen to much. The line interactions are better, and the left stick movement is fun. Its madden.

Well a lot of teams "shouldn't beat" some other teams (Giants over Patriots in the SB) but it happens every week in the NFL, multiple times.

So it's not a problem.

I wonder if the disk game is any different than the ea games preview

My connection just came through with the retail copy of the game...Only issue is that I did not play it from the ea games preview thing

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions Thread

Greetings gents.

A few things I noticed after playing a couple games online and checking ratings.

Across the board the speed ratings have been lowered and most for no apparent reason. I especially for some of the younger players. Others have gone up or stayed the same depending on the team. The trend I see is if it is a popular player then that player got a ratings boost.

As for game play I cannot stand the defensive assist/ball hawk feature. In a online game it becomes a match of just throwing your WR open and countering all the in the air player switching on pass plays. In past versions of madden if you did that and were not skilled you would get burned. Since the receivers don't fight for the ball those types of passes nearly always result in an INT if playing a human. In that regard I FAULT EA. They basically dumbed down the pass defense.

Yes, pass rush is nearly non existent, especially when players typically drop back more than 10 yards. Its still not programmed correctly as far as a sim experience.

Side bar:

Its funny How Vick got a speed boost and Shady McCoy got a speed drop. Donny must have been looking at their race results, lol

The good;

Graphics improved.
crowd sounds are good.
Momentum/foot-planting is a factor.
game play is smooth, a little too fast for online play imo.

The BAd;

playmaker/defensive assist. I hate it. A 3 year old can user pick you.

Many of the player ratings are a random mess. Not consistent or accurate.

There is still no comprehensive screening tool for choosing online matches. the only thing you can do is limit disc % for you opponent and reputation(which you cannot check beforehand) This is super annoying for those interested in screening their opponents. Its a crap shoot really.

Kick return blocking is over powered, your better of squibbing or kicking at angle. the pursuit angles are Terrible.

Overall its a fun game, especially if you lower your expectations. It plays just like NCAA 14, even the INT mechanics are the same. I do like the new camera angle too.

I also don't like the challenge system. I should be able to challenge a play whenever I want within the rules. On some plays this is not possible.

Also play action passes works whether you establish the run or not. Doesn't matter.

till next time
