Re: The more videos I watch, the less I seem to see the impact of the Infinity engine

I just want to say, I really like OS and I think it is the best Madden forum anywhere. I like how most people here try and make their decisions based off making the game play more like football. None of us will always have all the perfect answers, but I think most of us(at least the ones who stuck around here a few years) pretty much all want the same things, even if we go about it differently with our comments. For example, I like to say things how I see it. And while I can come across as a bit harsh, I'm not trying to offend anyone. I try to be 100% honest, and not try and attack someone. I wish the EAGC's could see that if any site is trying to help EA get better, it's OS. Nowhere else will you find such detailed and authentic recommendations for Madden/2k IMO.

Regarding any of my comments on the EAGC's. I want to clarify that I personally do not blame you guys for any of the mess the game currently has, or any flaws down the road. I blame EA. I think the reason people are skeptical with the EAGC's is simply because they know how EA works. They know how they only choose people who will be soft spoken and pretty much defend or go along with anything they do(and we are aware that working or representing a company makes you have to do this to some extent). So, I think people are looking at your answers and comments and asking themselves are these guys here for our voices? Are they for the sim community? Will they be truthful and honest? And most important will they push EA for sim authentic gameplay and features or just dance around the real issue's?

Regarding the 2k game changers guys, I really haven't even paid attention to them. In fact, all I remember is Chris Smoove was one of them and I enjoy his youtube videos from time to time. 2k has a great game already, and I feel they will make good calls with or without any outside help. Besides, the way it is setup, I think they are more like gameplay testers. That's probably a good thing btw. I think 2k knows how to build their game, some outside ideas here and there and some gameplay testers is all they really need. I rarely go to the 2k forums because I feel I can just sit back and enjoy the release. I really don't feel like I have to voice my concerns because the game has never really let me down.

Oh, and if it wasn't for OS, we might not have all the 2k5 updated rosters and Finn editor! Same with backbreaker and APF editors! Thank you OS!!

And the interaction did spur great ideas, that are actually in the game. You make it seem like everyone on OS is just hating just to be hating when you say things like "what it actually did was burn him out," as if they did not get any good ideas in the game.

They were on here when you are at CD in Feb. I know that for a fact because I was on meebo with two of them. I'm not saying they are on here 24/7, but they are on here and I think they still get ideas from here. The fact is communication breakdowns are never good IMO.

They obviously want you talking about Madden 13 and what you want to see in Madden 14 and beyond. What I see when I look around is what ISN't in Madden 13 and how they won't listen to you for Madden 14. Huge difference

2. What do the "Game Changers" want to talk about ? The community don't know what all you can/can't discuss due to "NDA" so what do Ya'll want to talk about ? Cause other than that the "Game Changers" are useless to us here on the forum because everything we want to know ya'll can't discuss.

We will talk about whatever you want... whatever we have personal knowledge of (don't ask me about sliders, OTP, or MUT because I don't use or rarely use any of those).

Once again we get back on the we don't provide you with the answers you want to hear thing again...

It seems to me the Devs want to talk about what they have accomplished this year. Fine explain to the community what you have done and why its broke/working as intended. We can't discuss what we would like to see and whats missing from the game because that's just "hating" and "talking in circles."
discuss what you would like to see all day. Thats what a forum is for... but you already know whats in Madden 13 so what is the point of constantly complaining about what isn't in there? (Not pointed at you) An example, I went to the grocery store today and they didn't have wheat bread. Okay that really sucks since its the only bread I eat... not buying any others... guess I'm not gonna eat bread this week. Now should I complain about it 100 times a day to any person who will listen and even those that wont? Should I walk into conversations about how hot its been lately and start yapping about the fact that the store was out of wheat bread? Sure I can... but eventually people will stop listening to me all together and i'm not going to have any friends except for those who feel the same way and then we can feed off each other and keep each other fired up. All the while... the store won't have wheat bread.

So lets discuss whats there.

1. Can any GC answer how does AWR, MCV, ZCV, PRC, actuall affect how the players play on the field on defense. I would like a break down of how each rating determines what they do so I can better understand what the heck is going on when I see some of the stuff I see happening while playing this game.
so would I... I can guess but that is not the answer you want. If you want the answer I would say ask Larry Richart

2. Whats is the logic behind who the guards are to pick up when they are pulling ? I think a better community understanding of this would help us know if its the game thats broken or ratings or both that's behind some of the strange behavior we see.
the pulling guard should match his assignment, that being if it is a power o run play... he should pick up the man outside the tackle and free up the tackle or guard on that side to release and block downfield. Does that always happen? no... maybe that is due to inside pressure or whatnot.
I agree with that last statement completely... yet i have no say in that but I have said as much to the dev team.

Tomb you are asking the difficult questions and my bet is nobody wants to take a stab at them because they DON'T know. The programmers themselves may not even know the logic behind Guards not picking up defenders. They might say, I don't know what's causing that. I don't know why that's happening and then just leave it at that. I've heard that answer to some questions believe it or not.

I know they were, I was sitting there with Dewiel and ZFarls while we were breaking down ideas on the site.

Wait ... you just said the dev team has implemented ideas from this site and put them into the game?!? Why is everyone else saying they don't listen to OS? Someone please explain? Is it because their priority list (right or wrong) doesn't match some of the folks opinions on here???? Help me out here please...

I'm literally about the LEAST soft spoken person you could possibly choose for anything. Ask the guys who are forced to interact with me all the time (looking at you Ryno).=)

CRMosier_LM, they won't hear complaning from me anymore. I understand that's useless. Just gonna get questions about their game from me from now on. Thanks for answering what you could. I don't haveLarry Richart's ear so who is going to ask him those questions for me....I thought that's what the GC, CD guys were for.....Not saying that to be mean, but now do you see where I am getting at. The things that need to be asked are not being asked and the things that are being asked are not getting answers. Now can you understand some of the frustration you are witnessing here ?

LBZRule, If the devs can't tell us why then we really are in trouble , LOL.

I think its important for them to clear up things like this so we all understand whats going on in the game and can act accordingly. If no one knows the answers to anything why are they surprised by the constant complaining and strong desire expressed here to have these things fixed/discussed ?
