I can't believe this is causing some to not buy the game. Is the removal of player edits really big enough to counter a great looking physics engine as well as what looks to be the best encompassing mode the game has ever had? I get that it's disappointing, but that seems a little knee jerkingly harsh to me.

Personally, if the game plays well, some of the problems I have with gameplay are removed and CC lives up to the hype, I could not care less about being able to edit players. I think I'll live for one year as it's even obvious they did want to put it in and will again in the future.

Personally? Yes.

My main reason is because you can't edit jersey numbers. From what I remember in Madden 12, there was no number restriction for positions so a tackle could be #1. That's highly unrealistic and flat out wrong.

If the number restriction is still not in place, what happens when a player is traded to your team when another player wears that number?

If you're the Patriots and trade for some player who wears #12, does Madden change the number for traded player? For Brady? Or neither? Do you have two #12s running around?

Physics is a great addition, but to tote all of this new equipment and then be unable to change it is ridiculous.

I don't think that they ignored the feedback but it's a matter of what they have time to implement given the development cycle. It's give and take. They created this new mode from the ground up but things are not all there. We express their importance and EA still has to make the decision when they can get them done the right way.
I'm at work so I dont have to time to do some digging but I've SEEN communication from EA to GCs that encourages them to be positive. I'm not saying that its a demand but its clearly encouraged by EA.

OR EA may have decided that focusing time and resources on Twitter feeds and Trey Wingo and the XP system was more important than NCAA import or Player edits.

How many seasons do you play in a franchise? Hopefully it's upwards of 5 or 6 at least... so you will be mixing if fake rookies all over the place soon enough anyways.
You call them fake and while technically that's true when I've played with and against guys for four years in NCAA they don't feel fake to me at all. What does feel fake is Blake McCarron, Tommy Meateater, Sammy Badfeet, or whatever.

Also, I'm still very skeptical about all these so called enhancements. Twitter feeds, most likely bad cpu trading, and rpg style leveling up don't sound like any thing I'll be immersed in and even if they are the fact that the league will be made up of all truly fake players in a matter of no time really doesn't help those features.

And yes I've read all the info and it's a little condescending to imply otherwise to anyone who's complaining about this.

Having said all that I will be renting the game and if I'm wrong about all that stuff I'll happily admit it

please show me, because this has not been my experience at all. They have never said "be positive about this or that" when we don't feel that way. They may not let us talk about something until they release the information, be we are not told to spin it any certain way.

You can ask Steve_OS about the type of interaction they want from us, he has witnessed how they communicate with me first hand.. as well as the type of feedback i give.

The only positiveness EA demands we do is be positive (attitude wise) towards the community. they have NEVER once told us to be positive about the game...ever. We are encouraged to give our full thoughts on the games we focus on once the embargo's are lifted... which we do every year. Which I already have done and did last year (not happy about online franchise going untouched).

EA does it AGAIN ... Last week I was very excited for Madden 13 ... did my pre-order ... Loved all the gameplay Videos ... The New Physics Engine had me thinking this would be the BEST MADDEN EVER ... Now ... I got my money back from Gamestop (Well just paid for "The Last of Us" instead). This RynoAid "GameChanger" Guy is sitting here defending this crap ... how did he put it ... O yeah "two huge steps forward with a small stumble back" STUMBLE??!!!??? ... Come On MAN! I do overstand that what some value in their games GREATLY differs from what others value but don't down play the importance of NO User Franchise & NO NCAA Draft Classes (Which was needed to be improved not Deleted)... Me having only played Madden online maybe 5 times since Madden has had online capabilities DOESN'T GIVE A RATs uhhhh Lunch what features OnLine has ... gameplay IS the most important thing and Im happy to see what looks like improvements but being able to ONLY play "Play Now" mode makes the $60+ price not worth it ... So IMO EA screwed the Pooch but in true EA/Big Money Company Fashion ... they don't care about missing out on a couple of Grand when millions will be made anyway ... well at least they can promise share holders better numbers in Madden 14 that is IF they care enough to fix the issue. As you can see thats a big if.
