Re: EA Boss Not Happy With Madden Sales....

what do anybody expect with the garbage that EA put out from 06-09. Also Madden10 is better, but with all the flaws and bugs how much confidence do EA expect consumers to have in there product. All other sports genre have competition except NFL football..go figure. Its just wrong for anyone to have a hold on americas top sport. Whether its 2K or EA, people want a choice and some just don't like maddens engine..period.

Re: EA Boss Not Happy With Madden Sales....

I wish the NFL could do a review of Madden and give their opinion. Go let Roger Goodell try and run an online franchise or kick a field goal.

Watching last nights game, I never saw the QB get tackled on a handoff before handing the ball off. only once or twice on either side did RB's get blown up in he backfield on a run up the gut.

Not once did I see the RB encounter a defender and get stood up and do the hulking animation that happens on 90% of RB tackles in Madden.

Not once did I see a pop up of how the steelers were an expansion team back in the day or that the titans became the titans in 1998.

YES they increased the presentation but did it wrong, yes they adden online franchise but did it wrong, yes they added refs, but now they discuss ever freaking TD.

Do I need to go on? This game is broken, just like the rest of them. its 2010 people and you guys "like the directions its going" you sound ridiculous. I hope this opens peoples eyes, namely the NFL cause they are not being respected by this product at all.

EA deserves this. They've been terrible with the Madden series this Gen.
Here's what's really eye-popping, from vgchartz:

Madden 05 (PS2) -- 4.46 million
Madden 05 (XBox) -- 1.46 million

Granted, those are TOTAL sales numbers, as opposed to sales figures for just one month, but I think it's safe to say that the days of EA selling 6 million copies of Madden, with this engine, are gone and never coming back.

Heres what makes this game fun. You get to do on this gen system what you were doing on last gen systems in 2005. They tweaked a few things and added some cutscenes which for the "madden guys" was like the 2nd coming. For the "2K guys" its, "been there done that."

This game picked itself up in some aspects but still sucks at others and the new stuff dont work like its suppose to. Whats funny about all that is we are suppose to allow that to slide because the game finally plays like it did 5 years ago ?

All you people on the "This is the greatest football game I have ever played" mantra. Tell me, WHAT are you doing in this game that you were not doing 5 years ago in Madden 2005 ?

We are still dealing with a lot of the same problems and new problems. We got 2 other older games that do some of these things better, but threw all that the "Madden guys" Are on this high horse as though EVERYBODY should be in love with the game because "They are on the right direction ?"

Not that the game works as advertised, or is not broken but because "They are on the right direction..."

I cant even throw to my WR on the right side of the field at the moment when he is being pressed because he CANT get inside the CB......WTF ? I am suppose to be happy though.

I don't even think Madden will hit 3 million in sales. Sports games aren't like other games. People don't buy Madden 10 midway through the NFL season or after the season. August and September sales will be the bulk of Madden 10 sales, and since it hasn't hit 1.5 million, there's simply no way Madden 10 is reaching 3 million before Madden 11 is out.

Best one year leap Madden has ever made, and the game is finally headed in the right direction for the future.

If EA gets rid of THIS group of devs, then I truly fear the direction they want this series to take.

The more I watched the game last night, the more I realized how much Madden IMPROVED this year. MUCH closer to what I watch on TV.

Like I said, I DO see the improvements made and LIKE the direction this series is going. I guess I'll just stick with sounding ridiculous

Ill play this game with you.

I think the control you have over your running back improved. I think the cutscenes improved. Graphics improved and a animation here and there. Ill even throw in the right stick control moves for the dline.

Outside of that what else improved ?
