If you think it would help, I will, but he's already leaning that way?

Based on Clint's answer that he's interested in such a slider, I doubt anything would come of it with this Madden.
Yes please do. I want him to at least look at the slider. Under 30 and it's an automatic shank even if you hit the mark perfectly. If we could put slider to 5 let's say and have it decease the sweet spot and still work properly then that may be a solution. I would think if it was working properly it would also increase the speed. But the slider is certainly broken so I would think the developer would want to know that. It was broken like this in 16 as well so I don't think it has had any eyes on it. Thanks.

Sure, I can. Here's Hopkins's bar at various lengths on All-Pro (as you can see, the accuracy area changes size depending on length of the kick):

I agree that it's been made easier - I'm pretty much automatic offline with an accuracy point like this for the shorter kicks, so hopefully the accuracy slider (which was at 50 for this) will have an effect. There are probably other factors at play as well in an actual game (to say nothing of the guys trying to block the kick)

I made a crude comparison. I wish I hadn't just deleted the screenshots I had taken while doing my FG testing or I could give a much better comparison. The left is pre-patch from a game a few weeks ago, right is a screenshot I just took:

The thing is, when I did my FG testing, it became evident that there was no difference in accuracy whether the accuracy was set in the black or the light blue area. And the light blue area still appears to be the same size so I'm not sure that the increase in size actually changes anything.

Interesting, even as a crude comparison. I've also noticed (pre-patch) that even if I was in the light blue area I was still pretty safe unless it was on the edge of my kicker's range, as I'd expect.

So if we consider the entire light blue area to be a 'safe' zone for accuracy, maybe increasing the size of the black area doesn't really do anything to increase accuracy itself, and it's more of visual thing to help guide people to the same center wedge that's been there.

I haven't done extensive testing on kicking and/or accuracy from different ranges so I'd have to defer to someone like you who has done that.

FWIW, I tweeted both Rex and Clint, no promises on any dialogue beyond that, they don't respond to everything.

And I'm not one to belabor the point, either.

Kicking is so easy now Hellen Keller could go 27-27 for a season.

Re: Kicking back to automatic, why?

Good news, they are looking at the line drive punting issue. Hopefully they will look into the FGA slider at the same time.

I put the FGA slider down to 5 last night and the meter went faster and the target zone was smaller. If it didn't result in an auto shank if you moved the slider below 30, everyone would be happy.

With a special teams fix, we will have a pretty good game on our hands.
