The 2014 NFL season is already three weeks old and it looks like the contenders are starting to separate themselves from the pretenders. Well...sort of. After only two games, observers should use more caution than that. How much can you tell about a team after just two games anyway? We've been down this road far too many times to fall for this trick again. Didn't the Buffalo Bills win five of their first seven games in 2011 before losing seven in a row. Remember the Arizona Cardinals getting off to a 4-0 start in 2012? Well, they went 1-11 for the rest of the season. The point is while it's good to be excited for your team, remember that the season is still young and a lot could change.

It's pretty safe to say that the Dallas Cowboys aren't getting the better of the trade that sent quarterback Tony Romo to the Denver Broncos during the preseason. While only two games have passed, there hasn't been much to smile about after an 0-2 start for the Cowboys. Jay Cutler hasn't looked great either, with just 2 touchdowns and three interceptions after the first two games. There's definitely room for improvement on this Cowboys team and their game against the Green Bay Packers would be a good time to turn things around.



Another year and another good start by the Buffalo Bills. As Bills fans know unfortunately, it's how you finish that counts. There's nothing that they can do about the past, and in order to maintain this level of play, the Bills will have to focus on the present. That may not be so easy with the Houston Texans coming to town. The Texans' new head coach Stephen Crandall is off to a hot start with a 2-0 record that matches the Bills' record. This game will certainly provide a test for the new head coach and his team.

New England Patriots Scouting Report

This week, the New England Patriots focused on scouting offensive linemen. There are some big decisions coming up for the team as both Nate Solder and Marcus Cannon are in the final year of their contracts. Decisions also have to be made around the center and right guard positions as well. Josh Samuda and Ted Larsen were signed to one year contracts. So, unless the Patriots find a star in the draft or threw a trade, they'll be in trouble next season on the offensive line.

The Oakland Raiders get some much needed good news this week as right tackle Tyson Clabo returns to the lineup. The Raiders are already in an 0-2 hole even though most of their roster has been healthy to start the season. The Raiders offense is currently ranked in the bottom half of the league, but with their starting five set to play it's first game together, they are hoping that will provide a spark for the team.
