another suggestion (it's kind of common sense so you prob already thought of this):

next time, after you run the auto-history on a clean roster... remember that if you know of created players you already "agree w/" located in other files (like in the GOAT roster, 1990 roster, capa historic teams, etc) you can paste those players or just their ratings on to any of the players you see as "flawed" who were generated by the program

Using it in conjunction with Finn's editor (I'm assuming you know about that one), you can have the History program automatically input the rosters for just about any past season. It isn't perfect (dates, jersey numbers, etc are sometimes off), but the amount of time it saves makes it well worth the effort. It apparently will also create the schedule for the year, but I haven't messed with that. Check the site for more details...

BTW- '83 NY Giants are finished and have been lightly tested. They were 3-12-1 that year, but had a decent defense. I just beat them 28-7 with the Lions (who went 9-7 in '83) and the star was FB James Jones who busted an 80-something yard run. It was the only really big play on the Giants, however, as they shut Billy Sims down (22 car. 71 yards, 1 TD) for the most part.
That's awesome. Thanks for the help. I haven't edited any 2k rosters for about a year, but this has got me thinking about jumping in again. Again, good lookin out.

Thanks puja and no problem slimm.

Just finished taking the helm of the Giants against the Chargers. Fouts ate 'em up early, but cooled off in the middle. I won that one 34-31, but San Diego had a 17 point comeback in the 4th to keep it close.

Highlight of the game: RB James Brooks somehow managed to stiff-arm Lawrence Taylor to the ground on one play. Don't ask me how that happened, but it did. He made up for it though...

Houston Oilers vs. Chicago Bears: Houston got killed, but best part of the game was Earl Campbell busting a 70-something yard run on me and after scoring, they went to the bench where they showed him taking oxygen on the bench. Never saw that before.

I NEED HELP: Does anyone have the roster of the 1983 St. Louis Cardinals (football, obviously)? I am having trouble finding some jersey numbers, particularly, the WRs and TEs. I have Green and Tilley.

Are you looking for the roster or just jersey numbers for receivers?

Doug Marsh: 80 is one I know...can keep looking...

I am looking for the whole dang roster now. I was just looking for receivers until I found a bunch of other Cards I needed...

I have Marsh (thanks to Topps). The defensive backfield was tough to find too. Anyone have that jersey #s book?
