For example, I tried to edit Denver's players' salaries down to get them under the cap, while keeping them all with "Balanced" contracts (for example, reducing the contract values or Tom Nalen, Champ Bailey, Gerard Warren), and none of my edits saved when I saved the file.

On the other hand, when I changed Carnell Williams' contract to a multi-year deal worth around $10 million with the "Ascending" breakdown, the yearly salaries were really weird; year one was -$12 million, year 2 was $0, year 3 was $12 million.

I may be alone in having this issue, though; with the previous version of your editor, for whatever reasons the franchises would not repack correctly when I saved them, and I don't think anyone else had this issue.

Another thing I just thought of, unrelated to my problem: you say you have not found the Cap Penalty number yet to be able to change it; isn't the Penalty figure just calculated from the signing bonus?
Changing them in franchise may be a problem... I never tested changing them in any franchise that wasn't just started.

Re: Contracts/ Salary Cap now supported!

Hye finn I tried changing some contracts in a roster file and coming up with some weird results. For example I changed Randle el contract( 7yrs for 30 million balance) for the redskins and Santana Moss's contract( 6yrs for 24 million) and when I save and start a franchise, I checked the ontracts and find that negative years. For example Randle el highest paid player (-1 year 12 million ) Same thing with Moss contract. I checked and redid everything at least four times and the same thing happens. I was wondering if any one else has been through the same problems.

I ran into the same problem as the last 2 people.
What I did 2 remedy the problem is 2 keep a backup file (on screen), & continue 2 edit the same file so that the #'s come up proper.
I had 2 make all the wack contracts "balanced" with no bonus 2 get it so my players were get'n $$$.
I was scratch'n my head when I saw some of my players get'n -$$$.
It was kind of funny @ first but it became more & more frustrating as I continued 2 edit contracts.
My solution is to make any contract edits "balanced" ie. $2.55 no bonus for 7 years which would = $2.55 4 all 7 years.
It might not be as accurate as most would like but u'll be sure that all ur players r get'n paid in full.
I haven't really played with a whole lot but this is my quick fix.
If I find another solution that's closer 2 real life I'll b sure 2 post it.

Finn I was wondering if u could implement a feature like & "auto heal".
I recall it being in 1 of ur previous editors.
I might be think'n of the NHL editor but it would be nice 2 have this in the NFL editior as well.
I can't believe it took me this long 2 find out about this version of the NFL edtior.(I d/l'd 2day)

With this version of the editor & the OSCD file this game has found new life.

Thanks again Finn
U R GOD of all Football games IMO.

I just changed the cap to try it out and it froze when I tried to go into contracts and the depth charts.
