Thanks for that. I kinda figured that was going on. Now I gotta just add regular song files instead of my over produced NCAA files.

Re: Custom Music / Goal Horn Thread

Could somebody please list all the categories (situations, i.e. home goal, penalty, intro...) available in NHL09 ? I'm making my playlists on my iPod and can't get the game before next week.

Thanks.

They really really need a volume slider for the custom songs like NCAA. NCAA's sounds were very loud to being with though.

Pretty much what everyone is saying that poro's songs with reverb and stuff don't work well with nhl 09 and are really quiet? If so has anyone found a workaround for it yet, or is anyone planning on taking away the reverb and what not from the files so they work well?

I have one huuge 500 song playlist for break in play songs, and it works perfect. Custom soundtracks are done very well in NHL 09. You can make custom arena sounds for every team in the game and that's cool. Goal Songs don't work so good, but intros, penalty songs, break in play songs etc rocks!

are these the ones that you uploaded to the site and if so what did you do to make them work well? Maybe if they are streamed they are lower than if they are on the 360's hdd?

Re: Custom Music / Goal Horn Thread

So I guess the thing to do would be to leave the Goal horns that are already included in the game volume turned on so you hear the horn right away on a goal, and find a way to get the goal songs without the horns blring for 5 secondes.

This should mesh the EA horns together with just the song coming in a couple seconds later.

Anybody out there plan on zipping together some music and uploading them to sendspace.com so we can get a good in-game music share going?

So the verdict so far is that the horns need work? What about the break in songs tk, are they good as is or do they need modded as well?

I thought I heard some reverb. Nice touch on EA's part to include this. I set "Hell's Bells" (album version, no editing) as my intro song for the Baby Pens in my BAP career and it was friggin' awesome. It lines up almost perfectly with the game intro, as you hear the bells when you're in the tunnel and the guitar comes in almost at the exact time the players hit the ice.

As for the low volume of custom audio, I tried lowering the other volume settings to compensate late last night. I couldn't get a good read on it since the wife was in bed and I had my surround sound down pretty low. One thing I did notice was that this will only help if you use custom audio for all arena music. The stuff I left at default (stoppages in play, away goal, etc) was blaring.

I plan on addressing this in the first list of stuff I send to the EA community manager (CM for future reference). Maybe they could do something with a separate custom audio volume setting or adjust something behind the scenes to make custom audio volume closer to that of the default playlists. I'm only speculating here. I have no idea if this is possible or if EA would see it as something that should/could/would be done.
