It wasn't until the second half, when Schneiderlin turned his defender and then fired a stunning shot from outside the box into the top left corner, that created some separation for the home side.

Match Summary: Collins found Davis running into the box and he hit it back across his body into the top right corner to open the scoring. McKenzie-Lyle made his debut a memorable one as he wove his way though 3 defenders in the box and then fired across to the far post in the top left corner. Freeman played Collins through on the right side of the goal and he hit it to the far post to put the Blades ahead comfortably. Taylor sent a corner to the back post and the keeper made a poor judgment and missed the punch while James headed it over him and into the net.

Match Summary: The new signing, Harder, started the counter attack and fed the ball to McKenzie-Lyle running in the middle of the field and he sent it on ahead to Abraham on the left side of the goal. Abraham held off his defender and then used his left foot to fire a shot back across the goal into the top right corner.

Match Summary: Freeman got the ball down the right wing and pushed it past his defender to get a cross off. Abraham was there to meet it on the near post and flick it across the goal and inside the far post. Harder intercepted the ball in the attacking third and pushed it forward to get it on his left foot and he fired from the edge of the box with a stunning shot into the top left off the crossbar and in.

Match Summary: Davis sent a cross in from the left side of the box and Vitor slid in behind him after the ball was out and drew a red card and conceded a penalty as a result. Abraham smashed the penalty into the top left corner to make the other side pay. Albrighton got around his man on the right and turned inside the find Wallace with a simple lay off that he powered over the keeper to double the lead. Leicester then showed determination when Gray crossed it in from the left wing and Okazaki ran in and beat the keeper's punch with a header into the back of the net. They added another when Gray's ball into the box was laid off by Kante for Okazaki to tee it up and beat the keeper on the near post for the equalizer. In a move of pure stupidity, Huth took down Odubajo in the box with a slide and Abraham buried his second penalty to put his team ahead of the 10 man Leicester.

Match Summary: FC Metz dropped it's first points of the entire season, but still maintained their unbeaten streak in this scoreless draw. Red Star failed to put even a single shot on target, giving Didillon very little to do. On the other side Balijon clearly earned his status as man of the match making one stellar save after another.

Match Summary: In perhaps the first time all year, Metz was outplayed in a match. Still, they did enough to come away with the win. Metanire opened the scoring when he held off his defender on the right wing trying to get the space to send a cross in. He realized that he had a free run to the goal and took it and used a strong shot to hit it off the keeper and into the net. Just minutes later Gragnic got the ball outside to the right and he crossed it in for Sassi who was running in for a diving header past the keeper to equalize at 1 a piece. Auxerre had the better share of the chances after that, but Metz was the one to break the tie in the second half when Candeias found Mayi on the right side of the goal and he trapped it and placed the ball into the top left corner. After that all Metz had to do was hold on to the lead, and the league leading defense was able to get the job done.



Le Havre AC 0 - 2 FC Metz

Match Summary: This result was never in doubt and the game was one of the most dominating performances of the season for FC Metz. Maintaining 59% possession they also managed to keep Le Havre from registering even a single shot at the goal. Le Havre did enough in the first half to keep them off the board, but Metz certainly had their chances forcing a couple saves and putting a couple more just wide. The second half is when the breakthrough came with Candeias getting around his man on the right side and sending a ball across the box for Mayi who slipped past his defender and tapped it in. It wasn't long after that Doukoure chipped a fantastic ball over the defense for Ikaunieks to run into the box on the right side and place the ball back across into the bottom left corner. Metz had a couple more chances to finish the match, but the score line held where it was.

I caught up on your vids. It's a shame about Dybala because he was back to being a scoring threat each time out so that will definitely be a hard void to fill. I think I missed the part where Rondon's injury had kept him so long too, I thought it was something minor, but that GW goal on the road at Camp Nou could probably be called the most important of his career. He isn't the athlete Dybala is but if you can feed him he'll finish plays for you. You're doing really well in the BPL and CL and I guess getting bounced from the COC early has sort of helped you stay in really good from in the other two competitions. How committed will you be to the F.A. Cup considering you're likely to be playing CL games when the cup games start to pop up?

Match Summary: Gouffran got down the left wing and sent a cross in to find Thauvin on the near post but his shot was turned away by the keeper only to fall in front of goal for Wijnaldum running in on the back post for the easy finish. Davis played Wallace through on the right side of the goal and he tried to fire it to the far post but Nastasic slid through him as he kicked it and the referee pointed to the spot. Abraham calmly put the ball into the top left corner for the equalizer.

Match Summary: Sepulveda got the ball on the left and drew two defenders over and he found Origi left unmarked on the near post and he finished it easily past the keeper. Ibe sent a cross in from the left wing and Lallana got his head on it and sent it looping over the keeper back to the far post. Origi turned his defender at the top of the box and played a one-two with Moreno and he slotted it past the keeper for his second on the night. Milner sent in a long free kick and Origi was there to get his head on it and direct it perfectly back to the far post to complete his first half hat-trick. Just before the half Woolford got open down the left and attacked the goal to power a shot past the keeper on the near post. And just a minute later McKenzie-Lyle got the ball outside of the box and sent his defender past him to get open and fire across the keeper inside the left post.

Match Summary: The keeper made a save and as he went to boot it away his on defender got in his way to deflect the ball to Collins on the left and he hit it into the open goal. Harder played the ball between two defenders for Bryan unmarked on the left and he went at the keeper and fired it across to the far post. Harder dribbled across the box from left to right beating 3 defenders and then powering into the top right corner as the keeper came out to challenge him. Collins got through down the left and he sent a low ball across the face of the goal where Pearson slid in to knock it home. Pritchard stood over a free kick just outside the box on the left side of the goal and he curled it up and over the wall into the top left corner.

Sheffield United 0 - 0 West Ham United
MOTM: Spiegel

Match Summary: The Blades assaulted the West Ham goal all match but no one was able to get through Spiegel who built a wall between the posts. His highlight moment came in the 84th minute when he saved a point blank shot from Townsend and then saved the follow up shot from Pritchard right after to preserve his clean sheet.

Match Summary: Abraham got the ball outside of the box and he played it to the right side to Albrighton who turned to the outside to get around the defender and hit the ball low under the keeper's reach into the bottom left corner. Pritchard played Cameron through on the left and he tried to pick out Townsend on the back post but Taylor intercepted it only to see it knocked into his own goal. Townsend stood over a free kick from 34 yards out on the right and he powered a shot over the wall and saw it dip down under the crossbar for a stunning free kick to add the third of the night for the home side.

Match Summary: Les Grenats found themselves in an unfamiliar position falling behind early in this one. Santamaria dribbled around both of the central defenders inside the box and fired his shot from the left side of the goal inside the near post for an outstanding opener. Tours continued their assault throughout the half, but the scoreline held at just the one going into the second period. Ngbakoto took matters into his own hands at the start of the second half and once he got the ball on the left wing he beat his man and was able to run unmarked into the box to hit a stunning shot into the top right corner. Even after the equalizer though Tours still looked like the better chance missing a couple more chances until Metz got a lucky break. Sao dribbled down the right and used his pace to get around the defense and work towards the goal. He tried to fire back to the near post but his defender got in the way and deflected it back into the box where Agouazi went to clear it but sent it straight into Metanire and saw it deflect back into the goal. Neither side was able to get much going afterwards and the game ended with Metz getting the lucky 3 points.

Match Summary: Metz went back to their dominating ways after a surprise struggle last match. They recorded 56% of the possession and assaulted Lavallois' goal with 16 shots, half of which were on target. Still, they had trouble separating themselves for the majority of the match. The breakthrough didn't come until the 86th minute when Ngbakoto's corner connected with Sao's head for a strong header into the top right corner. Just a few minutes later Ngbakoto sent in another corner this time to the back post and Lejeune headed it back across off the far post and it bounced back to him and he tapped it in.

Match Summary: Not many saw this result coming, but Red Star FC dominated FC Metz in every facet of the game and handed them their first loss of the season under the new manager. Both sides traded chances in the opening half, but it was early in the second half that Sampaio played a cross in and it was mishandled by Metanire leaving it on the doorstep for Chavalerin to tap in. Just minutes later Red Star conceded a foolish penalty in the box allowing Ngbakoto to step up and power and equalizer into the top left. Neither team was able to separate themselves for the remainder and the match went to extra time. Just 2 minutes into the first added period, Chavalerin played a ball in and Palomino cut it off, but it took an unlucky bounce and fell right in front of da Cruz who had run in on the right and he buried the chance to give Red Star the lead. Metz went full out in the attack looking for the equalizer but nothing was going and they fell to an unfamiliar feeling of defeat.

Match Summary: This will go down as a poor result for FC Metz who controlled the entire game only to see some points slip away on a lapse at the end. After a couple of good chances, Ngbakoto got around the defense on the right side of the box and slid the ball across the face of the goal for Ikaunieks to tap in on the back post. Several more chances ensued that should have been converted, including a missed penalty by Metz, and it came back to haunt them in the 88th minute when Amalfitano timed his run well and got the ball open on the left side of the goal and picked out Paulle for the first time hit past the keeper on the near post. Metz couldn't believe they let the lead slip away and the game ended in a disappointing draw.

Gennaro Tutino grabs U.S. Avellino 1912's Player of the Month award for November as the 19-year-old, who is on loan from Napoli, put in quality performances and scored decisive goals throughout the month. In Avellino's TIM Cup Round 3 match against Serie A side Palermo, Tutino displayed a Man of the Match performance to help the Wolves stun the Rosanero and move into the Round of 16. The final two matches of November saw Tutino get the decisive goals in each of Avellino's 1-0 wins over Latina and Novara. The thunderous volley Tutino scored from a corner against Latina is already a contender for Serie B Goal of the Year.

Manager's Thoughts
It was a great month despite suffering our first league loss to Perugia 2-0. The 4-0 win over Cesena was our best showing of the season, and we ground out several 1-0 wins including one in the TIM Cup against Serie A side Palermo. Gennaro Tutino helped us escape with some late goals against Latina and Novara (the Novara winner coming in the 89th minute). The top-3 of the table is still very tight as we lead Pescara by 4 points and Cagliari by 6 points, but we have opened up a pretty sizable 11-point margin on 4th place Spezia for a guaranteed promotion spot.

December 2015 - Fixtures
12/5 - vs Virtus Entella

12/19 - vs Modena

December is light in the number of matches and quality of competition. Virtus Entella is the highest placing side of our 3 opponents, and they are only in 9th place. We did have a 0-0 draw at Modena earlier in the season, but despite that result, I expect to get all 9 points this month.
