Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

So I decided to take a little adventure sout of the border into Mexico, Liga MX. Its not often that you hear of a career being started in this league, but I decided that I would give it a shot.

I chose to start my CM with Club Tijuana. Turned out to be a fairly enjoyable experience in my first season. Liga MX has as interesting way of playing out their season. Each season the league holds two tournaments: the Apertura, which starts in the summer, and the Clausura, which starts in the winter.

Club Tijuan lost in the Quarterfinals of the Clausura, and we managed to win the Apertura in the summer. In the finals of the Apertura, the first leg was tied at 0-0. So the second leg was for all the marbles. I get out to an early 3-1 lead, and managed to hold on in a tightly contested 2nd half to win the title 5-4.

During my run to the title I was offered National coaching jobs for a number of Countries; Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Northern Ireland, India, and Hungary. After much debate I decided to accept the Hungary job, solely for the purpose of playing in the Euros. I have been given the task of reaching the Quarters in the Euros and qualifying for the World Cup.

About to kick off season 2 with Tijuana, and hopefully get an offer at the end of the season to move clubs.

It's hard though because there's two guys that I've brought to every team that I've managed and developed them, I've developed 2 or 3 other guys that I signed from my Man U youth squad and they're now starters, and I want to land an international gig with the U.S., England, France, etc. (I'm with Portugal right now).

I don't know, I'll be checking out what managing jobs open up as I go through the season and see if anything interests me. Part of me wishes I hadn't left AJ Auxerre for Man U.
I think they have made career mode way to easy. The youth players growth is too much and to easy to get money after a few seasons. Buy any player you want, it gets boring. Besides the 6'6" wingers. WTF were they thinking or not I guess. I don't know how anyone can play more than 3 seasons. It should be hard to develop a youth player that can get into the 1st squad.

I used a similar approach starting my career with the Suwon Bluewings of the K-League. After playing most games my first two seasons I simmed a lot more for the third and fourth seasons because my roster was dominating by K-League standards. I kept waiting for a decent club offer to come and it never came. Only international offers came, never for clubs. So I started applying and ended up taking the SC Bastia job in Ligue 2.

You should know that you're not going to jump from Liga MX to even a mid-class European team. Even if the jobs open up they'll likely never hire you. Your best chance at a new club job is to apply to each one you see, save before you accept a job, and then accept the job to see what the status of your new club would be. If the job sucks for whatever reason you can just go back and turn the job down.

Most awesome FIFA moment ever earlier today!

FA Cup final, Tottenham vs. Man U. Tied at 2 right near the end of the game. Man U fouls me, Gareth Bale lines up to take the 36 yard FK and NAILS IT. 90'+4.

It was AWESOME! I watched the replay more than a few times

Re: How's your FIFA 13 career mode going?

Had a pretty intense moment earlier. 1st round of the U.S. Open Cup and I have to play the best team in the league Seattle Sounders. It was a very tight, close game throughout. We managed to score a goal around the 60th minute to take the lead. They started attacking hard, but we kept holding them off. Then, in extra time as the whistle is about to blow, I get called for a foul inside the penalty box! I was pretty pissed, I'd played so well and then a questionable call like that? Anyways, Montero lines up and I'm just waiting for whatever happens after a tie game. But I saved it! I made up my mind to go left, and that's exactly where it went and my goalie saved the game for us!

I've also made some big improvements to the team in the transfer period. I gave up that 77 overall striker with great potential, but so far I've bolstered my midfield with a 75 and 72 overall CDMs as well as a 75 CAM to replace Ferreira with. All of that and I still have a little over $15 million to play with.

Go after Darren Mattocks on the Whitecaps if you can. If it's still early in your career you can probably get him for only a couple million. His OVR doesn't get super high, but in my career he's 95+ in acceleration, sprint speed, and shot power at 27 years old.

OR if you want speed, go after Dominic Oduro from Chicago 95+ speed as well with pretty solid finishing. You can get him for probably les than 1 mil if you are in your first or second year. He is 26 when you begin.
