EA Sports College Football 25 Reportedly Coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Not PC

I remember that like it was yesterday lol. I remember it being slated for July 2023 thinking those 2 and a half years would feel like forever. Then in November 2022 when ESPN reported that it was getting delayed, that was initially a letdown. But, I knew a delayed game will eventually be good and a rushed game will always be viewed as bad.

I remember when the hope was that kick starter CFB game lol or any other publisher getting the NFL license. So, to be this close is awesome

That Kickstarter game smh lol! They took people money and ran didn't they?

I put it in the back of my mind for the last 3 years after this. Had some initial hype, but it was a couple years away, and then the delay happened. So it helped me not think about it. Now that we're so close it is seriously hampering my ability to enjoy other games. I just want this one. I'm glad I didn't feel this way for the last 3 years lol.

I just had to search the forum to find the name lol, Gridiron Champions. Yeah, some type of ponzi scheme lol.

Anyway, I hope that since they are releasing on current gen only, that we see a jump we've been waiting to see. Overall, current gen sports games have been lackluster. Releasing on last gen wouldve made sense just from a maximizing sales/revenue standpoint. So, going current gen only from the jump after 11 years, shows that they are confident the demand will be there. But, I also hope they will push the limits of what these consoles can do. We already see it with the expanded rosters, expected visuals/performance, stadium detail, audio(including the insane amount of commentary audio). I just want this to start the trend of saying "this is what a next gen sports games should be like"

This is good news. When MLB he Show expanded to numerous platforms the product declined.

Things like the Stadium Creator shows the potential of the current gen console. But, yeah The Show has seemed stagnant. It feels like the Show got pressured by the MLB to expand. I doubt as a console exclusive sports game that it was selling well. I for sure thought this would be the year they go next gen only. I know that the next Switch is supposed to come next year, so I'm not sure if they are waiting for that to cut the last gen versions. I know we stopped prioritizing visuals, but the Show really hasn't taken a leap visually since the PS3 era.

Like I said, I really hope with it being current gen only that they really push the envelope.

It is not surprising with how horrible EA games run on PCs. Just have to wait till they ditch the problem behind this.

I noticed that Madden is still releasing on last gen consoles. I would've expected Madden to follow suit. I'm not sure if it is because they have to maximize sales/revenue for Madden. I know with the Madden NFL license they have to reach certain revenue benchmarks to unlock the extra year. But, it is weird to see EA CFB 25 go current gen only after being away for 11 years and Madden maintain cross gen status
