I'll most likely use rashidi roster rather than the 2k roster..
http://thereal2kinsider.blogspot.com...r-ratings.html
people are arguing about stats of players in 2k like durant and paul..
PG has a different rating on a SF.. SF on PF and others..
so please don't compare overall rating on different position..
This thread cracks me up to no end. Guys are comparing PG's to C's and making all kinds of crazy claims.
Just because you think your team got "shafted" doesn't mean the ratings suck, their are certain attributes that go into a final overall rating, someone might be better in a certain category than another guy, which would cause his overall to guy up a few points, but it doesn't mean he's leaps and bounds better than the guy you're comparing him too.
People are all too focused on the overall and not on the individual ratings and tendencies.
SMH
On second thought, I think i'll jump on the bandwagon too.
"OMG this is so st00pid! why is ronnie brewer only rated a 69!? have u seen him layup the ball!?!? Get it together 2k!"

Omri Casspi Is only a 66..He should really be a 67, 2k should do more research.

I'd start Donte at SF for the height and the fact he is a great player. (The dude is 7 foot.)
Casspi at SG (Prefer him there, plus, height.)
Landry at 4
Can't decide whether Dalembert should start ahead of Cousins or vice-versa , I'd switch them too around alot on different games. (Maybe start Samuel when playing a tough offensive squad.)
Dirk Nowitzki... come on now... Tim Duncan at this point in his career isn't 7 points higher than him

D.Wade overrated? child please... Durant wasn't even the best player on his team in the playoffs last year, he played liked garbage. D.Wade steps his game up to another level, you can't just go by season numbers, go by playoff statistics, that's where it counts and D.Wade shows up everytime... D.Wade averaged 33.2 ppg, 6.8 assists, and 5.6 rebounds against the Celtics, not to mention he shot .564% from the field...Now tell me what other player played better against the Celtics? Not to mention D.Wade's team was straight up garbage... Quentin Richardson? Joel Anthony? Prove your point.

What? Chris Paul is one of the best players in basketball, he's averaged 19, 10 ast, 5 rebs, and 2.4 stls for his entire career, what other point guard is doing that for a career? all he needs is a team around him.

When you get your hands on the game, you'll see how he plays like himself without needing a +1 overall rating boost mate, don't worry.

Wall might be a better defender he's longer than rose, has 3 inches on him as far as his standing reach 8'5.5 while Rose is 8'2.5 inches.. Wall is 6'4 with shoes, Rose is 6'2.5 with shoes so Wall might have the advantage defensively, if he's not a better defender now he will be down the line...but he is not smarter than Rose at all, especially with all the turnovers he made while he was in college, and Rose is a beast, it might take a while before he gets on Rose level, and Rose's mid-range jumper is butter, not many in the league have his mid-range J not to mention his handles and explosiveness in half court.

Steve Blake > Fisher.
I know 2k will update the rosters correctly as the season progresses....
However, with D-Rose playoff performance he should be a little higher than 85.
I would of thought Durant would be higher too after the World Championships...
Obviously, summer league impacted John Wall's rating... 81? Wow, over Curry and 1 point behind Evans?
Wasnt Evans over 85 at the end of last season on 2K10(havent played in a while cant remember)?
Salmons and Jennings are very underrated... Bucks could surprise some people this year!

Appologies if this is redundant, I don't have time to read every post to see if someone's put this up already:
Average Rating of an NBA Starter in 2K by position
PG 77
SG 75
SF 75
PF 77
C 75
95-99 GOATs
90-94 Superstar/All NBA 1st team
85-89 Perennial All-Star/ All NBA 2nd
80-84 All-Star Caliber
75-79 Average NBA Starter/6th MOTY
70-74 Below Average Starter/6th man
65-69 Rotation Player
60-64 Bench/D-League
55-59 Training Camp
50-54 Not suitable for NBA basketball
Here are my opinions on over/under-rated players:
Too By
Bobcats Jackson Stephen SG 84 High 2
Bobcats Dampier Eric C 60 Low 2
Bucks Maggette Corey SF 78 High 4
Celtics Perkins Kendrick C 72 Low 3
Hawks Bibby Mike PG 73 High 2
Hornets Ariza Trevor SF 79 High 3
Hornets Okafor Emeka C 77 High 2
Lakers Fisher Derrick PG 69 High 1
Magic Carter Vince SG 81 High 3
Mavericks Kidd Jason PG 83 High 5
Nuggets Anthony Carmelo SF 93 High 2
Nuggets Nene Hilario C 75 Low 2
Pacers McRoberts Josh PF 54 Hansborough will start here
Pistons Hamilton Richard SG 77 B Gordon will start here
Raptors Kleiza Linas SF 55 Derozan starts here
Spurs Mcdyess Antonio C 68 Tiago Splitter will start
Suns Lopez Robin C 64 Low
Thunder Durant Kevin SF 91 Low 1
T'Wolves Love Kevin PF 74 Low 2
Warriors Ellis Monta SG 84 High 3
Wizards Wall John PG 81 High 2
My concern with many of these is that the overall scores for a player under value the role their defensive abilities play. For example you take a guy like Corey Magette who is essentially a very solid player almost exclusively for his ability to get to the free throw line and convert. He is generally understood to be a very poor defender, yet in this he is 2 shy of being considered "all-star caliber." Conversely, Kendrick Perkins who was the best post defender last post season (and that is going up against the likes of J. O'neal, S. O'neal, Dwight Howard, and Gasol/Bynum) by allowing the least amount of points from his math-up per post touch. He was the best by a spolid margin despite phenominal competition. But he's a 72 overall. A below average NBA starter. If the Celtics were offered Omeka Okafor for Kendrick Perkins straight up, I would venture to guess it's not as much of a no-brainer as this list would indicate (5 overall difference?!) and I'm not even sure they would want to make the trade at all...
Will happily discuss any of the other ratings people disagree with...

To clarify, the format of my post got a little scrunched. There were some nice neat columns in there, honest. For the block of players it was supposed to have a column of "Too" high or low, "By" some number. It's not letting me edit the post.

Wassup brother.
Why do people keep using this scale as if 2K released it saying this is what they go by?
Also, the issue I have with this scale implies that 2K has a predetermined overall rating for players in the NBA. Is this the case? If it was, wouldn't they overrate Dirk Nowitski's defense and rebounds to increase his overalls?

It's such a versatile team. Casspi can play SG and SF. Greene, because of his height you could POSSIBLY play him at the PF.
Landry/JT/Dalembert/Cousins can pretty much play all the big guy positions.
