This is nuts some of you guys say Kobe should be rated higher based on "cause I told you so". The ONLY reason stats matter, is because they are proof, concrete evidence. I understand there is context and circumstance to the numbers as well. I take these things into account. Kobe is not the only player who gets defended from 16-23 ft. However, he is one of the few that will take the shot he wants regardless of how many people are guarding him or how terrible a shot it is. Bad shot selection doesn't give him a pass in my book.
