Kobe midrange jumshot rating?
Posted on September 27, 2011 at 09:12 PM.
I need the email for the clown who put Kobe's midrange at 78. Before you comment please look at everyones midrange rating and tell me how sick 2K is for some of these midrange jumpshot ratings.

Kobe isn't great from mid range the numbers don't lie J.R. Smith shot better than him coming off the bench chucking the numbers don't lie he is rated better than Kobe. Now for the players that have a low quantity of shots like I said they have to look at longer data. Sorry to say but Juwan Howard also shot better than Kobe as well from 16-23 ft 43% so his med rating 80 kobe 38% rating 78 makes sense to me.

You dont get it dude. juwan howard .5 makes to 1.1 attempts. thats your your rating for you.

So you want Juwan Howard shooting your mid range instead of Kobe? and he is a better mid range shooter?
What has this world come to. Im trying to go this stat route because obviously you don't watch any basketball once so ever. When you are watching kobe shoot a midrange you are saying to yourself... "Man I bet Kobe shot 38% from midrange today?" and ud rather take juwan howard to take your midrange?

LOL at you sending me back links that I sent to you to let you know that Kobe is not efficient and not that great of a midrange shooter. So you want them to give Kobe the benefit of the doubt cause he takes bad shots SMH come on son with that lol! I don't have tape of every shot he takes there are other guys like Lebron, taking those same bad shots but he is making his. J.R. Smith takes bad shots oh yeah he is making his too. Should we bump everyone up by what they would have shot if they didn't take a bad shots? SMH come on now you can't be real. Another thing you don't even know what these ratings mean in 2K12 as in terms of settings what % you can get you are basing everything off of 2K11. In real life I would chose Kobe over Howard only because he can shoot off the dribble better but don't mean Kobe has a greater chance of making anything.

Haha you got the wrong one man I knew Kobe wasn't a good mid range shooter before all of this. I watch plenty of basketball I play it too and know the stats to back up my claim. You came off calling 2K clowns when you didn't even know where they were getting there information from and wants 2K to bump his stats up for taking bad shots and him having a bad knees that sounds clownish to me. How about you send a letter to Kobe's fan mail and tell him stop taking bad mid range shots or work on his mid range game so 2K would not need to rank him lower than what his fans think he should be if he didn't take bad shots lol

Oh " SMH" How much basketball do you watch. Lebron taking bad shots? what are you talking about? Lebron has outstanding shot selection. If Juwan Howard in a regular practice gym shooting J's is knocking down more shots then Kobe? from 16-23 feet. Going off your website? and "percentages" your sick.

Im pretty sure if you ask 100 people who is a better shooter from midrange, 100 would say KOBE. So go ahead and throw that stat sheet away.

# 22 ccjj1010 @ Sep 28
Youre making it a fan rave. Juwan Howard is not a better mid range shooter period. And Kobe is better than a 78 midrange and you know it man. Stat sheet or not.

Someone is a little too biased towards Kobe it seems. I don't care what his rating is as long as he plays like Kobe Bryant.

Well, anyone have info on his other associated stats, shoot of dribble? Consistency? Because like the real NBA everyone is a good shooter, so it's the intangibles that will and always separate Kobe from everyone else. But more on point well why is it so unbelievable that juwan Howard can have a better mid range jumper than Kobe at this point in these careers? I am sure that kobe works harder than most in the league, but he has to worry about sooo much, Defense, running the triangle, shooting( at all ranges), passing, being the face of one of the most popular franchises in sports, not to mention being a full on badass and many more things. While j Howard on the other side has 3 things he ever needs to practice, defense, mid range j, and being a mentor to young Players. So if you think a person who is in the NBA, already in the top what .01% of basketball players across the world. And devotes a large portion of his practice time to one area, he may outshine even a star player who has the weight of the franchise on his shoulders, and that's not purely metaphorical. But both should be higher, I thinks it's just the level of fanhood which can allow us to compare and contrast players, remember dudes this is the NBA everyone is a Great shooter.

Kobe has a 94 and your whining like a girl bc one stat of his is lower then u want it to be? He's getting OLD. Yes kobes good, and in my mind still a better player then lebron. And lebron takes bad shots and passes outta good ones, watch games. A bad midrange shooter is gonna equal not so great stats. He's a damn good shooter but apparently not from there big deal. He's a good player leave it at that. Dirk is an 85 and ppl in the NBA like bosh says he's the best players he's ever seen and hes 9 under Kobe. Wipe your tears, edit your ratings and be happy, Jesus

I don't have the game but Kobe is a 94 and people are still not satisfied only because some players are above him in the overall rating so they are looking at ways to boost Kobe up. I am sure he is a beast but his mid range is poor. So OP just edit Kobe to make yourself happy. I only responded to this blog because you called 2k/ VC clowns and you didn't even know how bad a mid range shooter Kobe is. Now if you came in here and said you played 2k12 say 10 plus games was getting good releases, great shot quality and can only manage say 25 % from mid range. I would say the ratings need to be inspected further because it could be the level you are playing on. An example HOF SIM against the Cpu was not the same as HOF sim against a human user especially from 3pt range. Stats are not everything but for a game like this and you are just looking at mid range well the rating should correlate to what his % from that distance.

@stillfeelme- I agree with just about everything you said, you know ball.
@ccjj1010- I understand where you're coming from, but you're doing it wrong. You have to understand some of these ratings work in conjunction. While a Howard or Jr Smith may have a higher mid rating, their offensive awareness, shoot in traffic and shoot off dribble wont be high as Kobe. If I pass it to Juwan off a pick and pop, he's supposed to be able to make an open 16 footer. Contested he will put up a brick more often than not. It all works out in the end. Don't judge with your laker hat on, judge with an open mind.

the kobe/jr 78-91 midrange issue is getting alot of rub. can't really argue. this kinda exposes the problem with looking at one year of data instead of say, the last three. kobe is a very good midrange shooter. one bad year should affect that, NOT CRIPPLE IT. this also shows how important stat minimums are...you shouldn't be able to hit your first four FTs, be injured the rest of the season and get a 100 FT rating the next year. sometimes the numbers lie if you look at them. we gotta look INTO them.

# 29 fr0z3n steeel @ Sep 28
I don't see how Lebron is a 98 when his numbers took a slight hit last year and they lost the finals. I mean they put Dirk at 85. I dont think that the ratings are all that accurate this year, kobe's midrange included. Should be at least 83+.

# 30 ccjj1010 @ Sep 28
Quit making this a Kobe fan rave because it isn't... I havent seen all his ratings yet either but from all that ive seen was how poor his midrange is. Lebron is a better player, dont know why people go and compare that route. But really I saw Juwan Howard, Sasha Vujacic, who had better mid range jumpers and wondered how on earth they are better midrange shooters. Kobe is not a poor mid range shooter PERIOD. Looking from 16-23? is not at all determine a mid range jumpshot. Kobe is known for midrange shoots and making big midrange shots. Maybe his 78 prove better because of his shot of the dribble and such idk. But Kobe catch and shoot from midrange a POOR shooter? come on.

And yes I called 2K clowns didnt know this game has a personal and close effect on your life. And nobody said Kobe's rating is too low. I dont even understand how Kobe even got a 99 lay up? really? Then describe Kobe's game in 2K game then since he is not able to drive to the basket anymore? And shoot and ,ake midrange shots like he does in real life. The man averaged 25 last year?
