Milton Bradley hit his 6th home run of the season in the Mariners 7-4 victory over the Angels.
Cliff Lee overpowered the Angels Friday night, keeping their hitters off-balance with fastballs on the black and changeups that fell off the table. Only a Juan Rivera 3 run shot would blemish Lee's night, and even that wasn't enough as the Mariners took game 1 of a pivotal divisional matchup 7-4.
Lee would finish the night striking out 6 and not giving up a walk in earning his 5th win of the season. Mark Lowe pitched the final two innings to earn his 1st save of the season. Lowe was equally as dominant as he struck out 5 and gave up just one hit in his 2 innings of work.
The win increased the Mariners lead in the division to 1.5 games. But there are still 2 games to go in this 3 game set. Tonight Jered Weaver (5-1, 2.24) faces off against Erik Bedard (4-4, 3.57).
