Was wrestling with getting either a three point specialist or someone who can play the point at this pick. Why not get someone who can do both? So with this pick I’m taking Mark Price. A fearless point guard who not only could shoot (career 40% 3-point shooter) but could attack the rim and make plays as the point guard. Price was very good at splitting the traps when teams tried to take the ball out of his hands. Steve Kerr credits Price for being one of the first players that would split the double team when teams tried to trap the pick and roll. One of four players in NBA history to be part of the 50-40-90 club. Someone who shot 50% from the field, 40% from three point land and 90% from the free throw line for a season. The other players were Larry Bird, Reggie Miller and Dirk Nowitzki.

Price provides shooting and point guard play from my bench. When defenses start converging in on Duncan and McHale down low or they start focusing too much on Robertson, Price will be the equalizer with his elite shooting.

with my 10th pick (and 106th overall), I want some toughness and some well above average rebounding. So, I choose Bill Laimbeer. With Bill, Moses, & Nate protecting the post, I don't see any big man getting easy looks or easy boards (if they even grab any boards, at all).
Overlooked because of his "nastiness", Laimbeer played his heart out in every game. What most people don't realize is that from 1983-1988, Laimbeer led the NBA in rebounding (I think I'm right with the years). As an added bonus, I can run pick & pops all day with Wade/Paul & Laimbeer, since Laimbeer was a career 33% three point shooter.

For my next selection I choose Dave Cowens. Very few players played with the fire, passion, and intensity of Cowens. He was an able scorer, tremendous rebounder, stellar post passer, and excellent defensively. He won 1 MVP over prime Jabbar while finishing top 4 three other times and made 3 All NBA 2nd teams, 2 All NBA Defense 2nd teams, and 1 All NBA Defense 1st team. With Cowens coming off the bench to give Walton a breather will bring lots of passion and intensity and hard-nosed basketball.

bob mcadoo - prolific scorer, solid rebounder, champion. i get scoring punch off the bench from the forward spot, and a guy who can provide an instant spark. he is also not an egomaniac, so he understands his role off the pine. solid contributor who can do it all from his position.
ralph sampson - hugely talented with size, agility and skill. while injuries hampered his career, he would sit my team very well with his combination of athleticism and ability. off the bench, he would be an ideal back-up and match-up problem for any second team big. could also step into the starting lineup for matchups that warrant it.

Since McAdoo just got snagged my next pick will be Spencer Haywood. He's a career 20-10 guy and one of the most important and influential players in the history of the league. Spencer Haywood filed a lawsuit against the NBA and won in the Supreme Court allowing underclassmen to join the league. In his first professional season with all the pressure in the world on his shoulders he averaged 30 and 20 in the ABA and won the league MVP. He then joined Seattle and the NBA and made 2 All NBA 1st teams and 2 All NBA 2nd teams and got a championship ring with the 1980 Lakers. Prime Haywood was one of the best power forwards of all time and will further strengthen my front court rotation by adding the versatility to play 3-5.

with my 10th pick (yeah, my bad..miscounted how many picks I had made earlier). Anyway, with my 10th pick, I want a shot blocker extraordinaire. So, Manute Bol - come on down. The guy was an INSTANT shot blocking impact in the league, averaging 5.0 per game in his first season. Also, he rarely missed any games during the first 6 or 7 years of his career. AND, he gives me another 3 point threat :P

# 97 Dice @ Nov 28
Looking for a PF who can give me boards and defense and provide a little scoring. Give me Buck Williams. Excellent post defender and during his prime one of the best rebounders in the game. Not a great offensive player but would hurt you if you totally ignored him. Rookie of the year in 1982 helping the Nets improve by 20 more wins from the previous year. Oddly enough, when he was traded to Portland in 1989 he helped the Blazers improve by 20 wins from the previous year without him. Portland had a solid group in 1989 and just needed someone to do the dirty work in the paint. Williams was the perfect fit and helped Portland make two Finals appearances between 1990-1992. I need a “smash mouth” player on this team. Buck would be the perfect fit.

# 98 iLLosophy @ Nov 28
Still surprised he's here, so I'll take an early Christmas present and pick George Mikan. For his short career in the latter half of the 1950's, he was what Wilt was to the 60's, what Kareem was to the 70's & 80's, and what Shaq was to the 90's/2000's. This was the original dominant post player. He dominated so much that an opposing Fort Wayne Pistons got a one point lead of 19-18 and decided to hold the ball for the rest of the game - thus being a big factor in creating the shot clock. Granted his scoring effectiveness went down when they widened the paint, but he was still ferocious on defense and on the glass. He had broken bone injuries 10 times during his 10 year career, some of which he continued to play through. Mikan was always known for his physical toughness, heart, and his ability to dominate near the basket. Post players since have had coaches making them do "Mikan drills" during practice.

For sake of my team, I'm going to take the older George Mikan later when his performance started to go down, so he can be more of a team leader and unofficial player coach role while coming off the bench.

# 99 OSUFan_88 @ Nov 28
My next pick is going to be Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Z has always been a fan favorite and was supremely talented when younger and even after his numerous foot problems. The consummate professional and a true leader, Z brings length, the ability to spread the floor and some defense to the interior. It also provides some superb length to an already deep position.

# 100 wwharton @ Nov 29
Crushed me watching Mikan go... he was my next pick. I'm going to do the Mikan drill for an hour as punishment for not taking him sooner.

With that said, there's still a big man on the board that fits the talent, accomplishments and skill set to fit in perfectly with my team... and brings a little edge with it. Rasheed Wallace may be best known for getting techs at a record pace, but that overshadows the amazing career he's had. Arguably the best player on a Blazers team that lost to the eventual champions in the conference finals 2 straight years, Wallace eventually went to the Pistons and made it to the Finals twice, winning a ring once. He made the finals again for the Celtics, and like he's done everywhere, stepped up his game across the board in the playoffs.

Wallace has been top 10 in FG% throughout his career, while also adding another big man to my team who's range stretches beyond the 3 point line. He was also known as one of the best defensive PFs in the NBA and among the leaders in blocks. Versatile, high basketball IQ and championship pedigree... he fits right in.

# 101 JBH3 @ Nov 30
With my next pick I am going to go with PG Time Hardaway. Instant offense off the bench. Another guard who can spread the defense, but one who can also slash and draw contact.....no one could crossover like Tim Hardaway.

# 102 Kashanova @ Dec 1
I'm Taking C/F Clifford Robinson, a sixth man award winner and and very versatile 15+ yr pro

# 103 da ThRONe @ Dec 3
Sorry for the hold up. With my next pick I'm taking Amar'e Stoudemire. Big body athlete with great scoring ability.

# 104 AlexBrady @ Dec 4
With the last pick in the 10th round, I am taking Lamar Odom. He can take his left hand to the hoop, pass, handle, rebound, and create tough mismatches. He'll be the back up small forward on this team but he can also play the power forward.

With the first pick in the 11th round, I am taking Scott Wedman. I always liked his versatility, able to play small forward, power forward, and even shooting guard if an injury occured. An excellent defender and a reliable shooter.

# 105 wwharton @ Dec 6
