A few notes to help you along:
- Yes, only one vote per person you fanboys.
- No, you won't have a clue who is winning thanks to us making the results private until the winners are revealed.
- Yes, I firmly think the categories and nominees we have this year will create some interesting possibilities as far as results

It certainly appears as if Peter Moore knows what he is talking about after all. Gamers want easier to understand games with simpler controls but more accurate physics. In my very unscientific blog comments section, that seems to be the prevailing notion nowadays. Most would prefer companies spend less time on trying to give "total control" to players with insane button combos.
Instead, most of the gamers who commented would instead rather have the development teams work ... Read More

College Football: Real Life Rankings vs. NCAA 09
Friday, December 5, 2008

Now let's think about this together. The very thing about sports is that the unpredictable tends to happen more often than not. So what would a game being realistic mean?
It would mean things that many consider unrealistic nowadays such as crazy stats or crazy team accomplishments ... Read More

While I do agree that the game was geared a bit too heavy towards the offense — especially when it was released in July — this season has been another prime example how sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction.
If a gamer got a 61-41 final score in NCAA Football 09, most likely the gamer would’ve screamed ... Read More

-MLB '08: The Show redeemed my love for America's pastime. Thanks to The Show, I am a baseball nut again. Spring can't come soon enough and for that, I am thankful.

However, from the conversations I have personally had with the guys who are making the games, review scores actually do mean quite a bit to many of them. Just as with any well-ran sports team, a development team typically has a few goals they would love to achieve each year and one of those goals is usually to receive ... Read More

My take? All 3 have a decent argument...honestly none are better than the others and if you think so, you are a fan of said team or you are ignoring reality. If OU was in either Tech's or Texas' position, I'd be screaming trying to state my team's case as well.
In the end, we are going ... Read More

Although my vote means very little to the big scheme of who wins the 'Game of the Year' award, I am pretty confident I know which game is going to be my pick. Going ... Read More

Instead, by and large in the (very) limited sample I received, you overwhelmingly said awesome presentation with decent gameplay is a more preferable option than to perfect gameplay and bad presentation.
I do not want to buck the old trend too far, gameplay is still the most important fundamental aspect of ... Read More

So the question, "If you could choose just one, which of these football games would you buy?"
Assume a few things: both games feature the exact same selection of modes and features, it's just the gameplay and presentation which are different.
A)Game A is a game which features the best presentation yet in a sports game to date which would fool even the most skilled ... Read More

By and large, they suck at creating 'it'. They definitely don't have 'it' figured out. Other developers in other genres get 'it' and then translate 'it' onto the screen for us to enjoy 'it'. What is 'it' you ask?
'It' is the simple fact that video games are meant to be an experience that resembles something so believable that the player willfully suspends himself into the game and becomes a part of it. When a ... Read More

This latest rumor from Smashpad about EA Sports is interesting. Basically, EA would offer consumers a special deal to reward brand loyalty with up to a 33% discount per game title purchased in a program Smashpad is reportedly calling "EA Sports Season Pass". The caveat? It would be available in GameStop's only with a $20 entry tag.
While the program sounds cool, this is nothing but a rumor. It would be cool to see it happen, and would definitely be a brainchild of ... Read More
