The time has now come. In just a couple of weeks, BCS big-wigs from across the country will meet (April 24-26 exactly) to decide the fate of the free world...or at least college football's postseason.

But let's not shortchange the importance of this moment.

College Football is currently the only sport outside of figure skating, gymnastics, and 'Dancing with the Stars' where a champion is decided by people and

Oops.

Gregg Williams, former Saints Defensive Coordinator and one of the center pieces of 'Bounty-Gate', can't be feeling the greatest this morning, after an explosive speech taped by a documentary filmmaker was released to ESPN.

Here are some direct quotes taken from the above article from the tape:

“Kill the head and the body will die. We’ve got to do everything in the world to ... Read More

It's coming.

162 games. Six Months.

Baseball Season.

As a Rangers fan, the past two seasons have been a mixture of sheer glee and absolute horror. Last year felt like it was happening.

Two times. One strike away from a World Championship. Twice.

At the end of the day, the St. Louis Cardinals walked away as World Champions and my Rangers were playing ... Read More

There are few games which will steal your productivity on the go like iOOTP 12 is going to do.

After playing/simulating a few games over the past couple of days, it's pretty apparent that while iOOTP 12 doesn't have nearly the same depth as OOTP 13 (as it shouldn't), it's more than adequate for baseball on the go. Here's a list of my pros and cons of this aspect of the game.

Pros

The interface

I've gotten my hands on both iOOTP 2012 and Out of the Park Baseball 13 thus far and here are the first batch (albeit brief) of my impressions of both games.

Out of the Park Baseball 13

I love the new interface. It's taking some getting used to, but I honestly feel as if I'm playing a much more mature version of OOTP. Everything is located a bit better, but you simply have to relearn where everything ... Read More

It's not every week Tiger Woods wins a PGA Event...at least not anymore.

With his first win since 2009, Tiger got a huge monkey off of his back only to have it replaced by a gorilla. The questions are going to come fast and furious now.

"Can he do it again?"

"Was it a fluke?"

"Will Tiger ever win a major again?"

When you are the greatest athlete in your sport ... Read More

It's happening. Right now.

March Madness truly describes anything that goes on in this month involving a bracket.

The second version of the Greatest Sports Game Ever Tournament is now down to it's final eight games, and we are guaranteed a new and fresh championship matchup since both NFL 2K5 and College Hoops 2K8 went down in the Sweet 16.

Unthinkable. Shocking.

Ever since ... Read More

As a precursor to Dustin's review coming up here soon, here are my quick hitting impressions of The Show on the Vita to hopefully supplement Dustin's efforts.

First Thoughts

This is almost like the console version. That's the best way to describe my first thoughts about the game in a way that seems coherent. Jumping into the game, getting to the ballpark, seeing the players moving around -- it just ... Read More

It's that time of the year again, both baseball games are on store shelves and OS is here to provide coverage. Here are my thoughts on both games after about a day of playing.

MLB 2K12

If this is 2K Sports' baseball swan song, they certainly didn't try very hard. Framerate issues are simply annoying, and while the presentation is still good the graphics are a long way behind The Show's still -- it's ... Read More

My experiences with the Vita have been pretty positive so far, so sayeth my earlier blog. As the Executive Editor, I'm reviewing three games for the launch of the Vita: ModNation Racers Roadtrip, F1 2011, and FIFA Soccer.

Here's some quick hitting impressions of each game.

FIFA Soccer

This is, IMO, the best game out of my bunch. FIFA Soccer is a very smooth transition to the PS Vita. ... Read More

Sony's newest handheld launched today for many gamers who were willing to put out the money for a first edition bundle of the device, bundled with 'Little Deviants', a 4mb Memory Card, and a case for the Vita.

Pulling the Vita out of the box, the first thing I noticed is that it, indeed looks a lot like a PSP. But picking it up, it felt lighter yet it's bulkier -- a strange occurrence for sure.

As I ... Read More

Today's fact sheet announcement from SCEA has MLB: The Show fans ready to rock and roll....mostly.

At the very least, I'm impressed with the additions mentioned -- especially considering the Vita version of The Show looks to be quite fully featured indeed, as we have heard and suspected for awhile. Here's my quick takeaways:

Real Ball Physics Will Be Awesome -- There will be some quirky bugs, but it'll be

In the poll I posted this morning, I raised the question of whether you guys thought that there would be a 'great' football game from EA Sports through the rest of this generation. You seem to have answered with an overwhelming no.

As of this writing, only 11% of you actually thought a great game was coming while 82% remained quite pessimistic to completely 'waiting and seeing' ... Read More

Madden NFL 13 has to fix what ails the franchise, it's now or perhaps never.

I'm here to totally piggy-back off of Phil Varckette's excellent piece about 'Five Things Madden NFL 13 Must Do For Success' with a piece of my own, in a similar but not quite the same fashion.

My goal is to present to you the gauge I will use to measure success for Madden this year, I'm not getting into wish list items, these are ... Read More

It's the political season.

We're getting all sorts of big promises with no possible way they will be delivered by multiple people as I type this blog. I, of course, didn't expect that same sort of mentality to creep into NBA Gaming -- but it has.

Both EA and 2K promised big things once the NBA season got underway. For EA, there was a vague promise of updated rosters which seemed to indicate there would ... Read More
