Some may call it posturing. Some may call it a bunch of rich men trying to make decisions that are apparently beyond their ability.

I call it a college football playoff debate.

Last week, Larry Scott defiantly pronounced the new Big XII/SEC bowl deal has put the +1 idea back on the table. In a report from both the Big Ten and Pac 12 meetings, it appears both conferences members agree that's the ... Read More

College conference realignment is the worst/best/most exciting/hair raising story to cover. Mainly because there is so much BS that is thrown out that trying to sort through it all seems an impossible task.

Lucky for all of you, I'm doing all of the work for you.

First, if you aren't caught up I suggest reading my earlier blog on this. Trust me, you should just to get an idea as to why it's happening ... Read More

In what was the least shocking news of the past year, the MLB 2K series is not returning for another edition next spring/winter (depending on your definition of what March is).

What may be shocking to you is that this is the beginning of the end for 2K Sports and that we'll be writing something similar to this about NBA 2K within the next few years.

It won't be because NBA 2K is suddenly going to get 'bad'.

The $1 billion question in EA's minds right now is how to prove they aren't conspiring with the NCAA to deny student athletes/former student athletes their fair share of the video game prize pool.

Judge Claudia Wilken recently denied EA's request to be dismissed from the case, which means EA and the NCAA must prove they aren't conspirators to deny athletes money they are owed from their likenesses being used in ... Read More

The year was 2005. The day was May 12.

Microsoft unveiled it's second gaming console, the XBox 360 on that day. Gamers rejoiced and marveled at the new hardware.

New hardware means new possibilities after all. And new possibilities mean new experiences for users/consumers. And new experiences mean new sales.

But ... Read More

Everyone has their bar for success, and we're going to talk it today. At what point would you (or did you) believe Madden will arrive/had arrived as a great game this generation?

For me, I think the moment will come when an in his prime Peyton Manning is a better overall QB than Cam Newton in the franchise -- which in simple terms means both the offensive problems have been fixed as well as the defense.

9 Home runs. 15 RBIs. 12 Hits.

An incredible month week for Josh Hamilton which included his four home run performance against the Orioles on Tuesday.

I just wish the stats in MLB: The Show were realistic. There's no way a player can have that sort of a week.

Wait...what?!

In today's broadcast, Fox Sports showed a statistical comparison between Hamilton ... Read More

As I wrote about on Thursday, the realignment mill in college football has begun to spin again and the usual suspects (the Big 12) are in the middle of it.

Except this time the Big XII is on the offensive.

In an interview with Warchant.com, the Chairman of the Florida State Board of Trustees Andy Haggard told the site that not only is the board interested in hearing what the Big XII has to offer, they

The

Future Big XII Conference Matchup?

We've now officially hit the Trilogy mark of Conference realignment, with another summer fast approaching and with all of the key cogs coming into place -- it looks like things are going to heat up.

One lesson we've learned when it comes to conference realignment in the past two summers is simple: when there's smoke there's fire, just don't believe everything ... Read More

I have written on what I thought NCAA Football 13 needed to do to really take a step forward -- and I can honestly say a lot of what I griped about has been addressed.

So congrats EA Tiburon, I'm calling you out.

Not for doing the wrong thing but for doing the right things. You see, we spend a lot of time being hypercritical of what you guys do down there -- but sometimes you just have to take a step ... Read More

The New Broadcast Team is promising:
Jim Nantz and Phil Simms are leaps and bounds better than Gus Johnson and Chris Collinsworth. Call me a stickler for good old school commentary, but Johnson wears on you over time. With Madden's commentary last year, he was downright atrocious because EA made him that way. With situational aware commentary this year, it's very possible we might finally have commentary that'll suck you ... Read More

There is now talk of eliminating kickoffs entirely in the NFL. Personally, think this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard -- what's next, eliminating tackling in favor of flags? It'd be much 'safer' after all right?

So what do you guys think? Is this a little over the line or not?

Bobby Petrino has been fired as the University of Arkansas football coach.

Now the search begins for a new head coach for the program. But let's get your take, do you think Arkansas will be in a better or worse position (or even comparable) as they are right now in three years?

I'm going to have a review of iOOTP 2012 coming up next week. In the meantime, I've gotten some more playtime and here's the lowdown on the game from my vantage point.

First, the iOOTP 2012 is not close to its big brother Out of the Park Baseball in terms of depth and breadth of features. Let's just get that out of the way before we even dare continue on.

Second, iOOTP is a game which is made for people ... Read More

In case you've been living under a rock, it seems Bobby Petrino was having an affair with a younger woman who was a part of the football program.

All of this came to light after his motorcycle crash last Sunday. As a result Arkansas has put him on indefinite administrative leave.

So the question for you guys is: Should he be fired for this and if not, what should be done?
