I always liked the FIFA series, been playing it since the mid 1990s. This year I was kind of skeptical of ball physics and their improvements to AI. To me I was thinking this is just another year of EA Sports marketing hype that they fail to deliver on. Having NCAA 14 and Madden 25, whom both games said they also had improved and much better AI, this made me even more skeptical of FIFA 14 claim of better AI.
I was VERY surprised with FIFA 14. First thing I noticed was just how ... Read More

Out of all my big hits I have seen in Madden 25, this one currently is my favorite one. He just destroyed Barry Sanders. Only thing better would have been if Barry's helmet came flying off.

For the past month been hearing people debate about which one visually look better. So I put them both up side by side. Judge for yourself.

Now I have used kinect controls in NBA 2K13, Madden 13 and FIFA 13. So needless to say I am use to a certain level of goodness. However when it comes to NCAA 14, kinect controls are pretty unreliable.
I would say the success rate on NCAA 14 is around 35 to 45%. The commands don't flow no where near as smoothly as it does in other sports games. Found myself having to repeat myself a few times before the game would actually do what I said. Never had to do in FIFA 13, Madden 13 or ... Read More

Now back juke has been out of EA's football games for some years now. But alas it is back in NCAA 14 and it is just sexy. Time it correctly and you can spring some mighty big runs from doing it. If nothing else you will make some thing highlight reel worthy by making a defender go flying past you.
So everybody re-train your brain to use the back ... Read More

Now a TD pass was scored, but out the corner of my eye it looked like I seen the QB dragging somebody. Hit instant replay and sure enough the QB was dragging the defender. For some reason the defender was hell bent on taking the QB down and wouldn't let go of the QB's leg. QB literally dragged him a few yards across the ground. Well at least we know you can drag ... This right here happens way too often by the CPU ball carriers in NCAA 14. What happened to their avoidance feature that EA said would be in the game to prevent this from happening ? This kills way too many drives for the CPU. Slightest touch or bump, ball carrier goes down way too often.
This scramble was just pretty damn awesome. It was as though Johnny knew they were losing and he was trying his best to score on that run. What was even more insane was the fact Clowney got knocked down to the ground at the line, got up and caught up to Johnny a good 25 yards down the field to get in on the tackle.
I guess having 95 pursuit does ... Read More

It is that time of the year again. NCAA 14 is here and it has a stumbling problem. Let me just say this from the start, ball carriers fall down way too easily from the slightest touch. This is mainly a CPU BALL CARRIER problem because it seems as though the CPU don't ever use the stumble recovery feature or the back juke.
So unlike a human controlled player that can keep his tripping ball carrier from falling most of the time, the CPU falls flat on it's face every time. This reminds ... Read More

Not 1, not 2, but THREE BLOCKERS he dragged through on his way to the QB for the sack. Amazingly there was no holding call on the play. To date, this is simply the best sack I seen in years. Just pure will power and determination.

Some days I just feel like playing older games. Today I felt like playing NCAA 11 with some alumni rosters. Right before halftime, this hit happened. He was denied the TD and the clock ran out. If he would have scored they would have taken the lead.

I must say for a free arcade game, the game is pretty fun when you can get in. Reason I say that is because you have to be connected to Ubisoft servers in order to play it. No connection, you can't play it or do anything PERIOD. ... Read More

Sure I seen some wonky things in Madden and FIFA when it came to physics, but this was just weird. Before I even seen the zoomed in replay something looked off in that tackle. Zoomed in it looks even worse.
