I don't know if it is because not enough people play this mode and they don't care or do people simply don't understand what coach mode is. What Madden 12 has is NOT coach mode.

That is nothing but 100% user controlled game play from broadcast cam view. Coach mode is a lot more then just broadcast mode view people. It is about the X's and O's of football. You call the plays and watch your men play it out. They live and die on your play calling and their ratings.

Grant it I didn't download the latest NCAA 12 patch right away. I was pre-occupied with Deus EX and NBA 2K12. But this week I have and been playing the game since monday.

Now as I always this year, I noticed in order for stuff to take effect, for me anyway I always had to upload my roster and download it again. Don't know why, but for me this year for NCAA 12 just the way it is.

This time I went one step further. I reset the sliders back to default as well. Playing ... Read More

What can I say, I'm a techie and college football is my most favorite sport. Therefore it makes me sad and pissed off to see a college football videogame is such bad state. I will lay out my ideas of what should be done to make this series better. EA can feel free to use some or all of my ideas.

To me it isn't so much of a game engine issue, it is a design issue. Sure throwing the words they need a new engine is the popular chant around the web for the past few years now. However ... Read More

As well all know by now, patch number 4 is in the works for NCAA 12. What will be in it, nobody knows and that is the problem. Been 11 days since the announcement.

You would think they would have had a clear list of problems they are looking to address by now. But then again this year I have learned to expect the unexpected. NCAA 12 is very buggy. Hell Madden, FIFA and NHL are all buggy this year. It is as though 12 is an unlucky number for EA or something.

Lots ... Read More

Finally...........a company has gone all out and made a play calling system to be as complicated or as simple as you want it to be. NBA 2K12 deserves extra extra extra kudos for their play calling system. It is a techie dream come true.

Does wonders for the CPU AI. You can assign players a type of play or a specific play. I love that idea. Helps to really seperate elite stars from scrubs. So for example if you have a scrub, instead of him giving him the ability to run every play ... Read More

Hands down, this is the best sports game this generation of console gaming and maybe the best ever. Why it has even surpassed the alimighty MLB The Show with it's realism.

The live ball physics is a thing of beauty to see. Missed shots are much more unpredictable now. Literally it can bounce off anywhere in any direction. This makes boxing out that much important this year. In the past one was always able to get away with not boxing out. This year the CPU will eat you alive on the ... Read More

As I play Madden 12 and NCAA 12, the one thing I always noticed and am annoyed by is the lack of the CPU AI using special moves like they should. They don't have the sense of trying to break down a defender during a 1 on 1 situation. Instead they just to run through everybody.

But as I play NBA 2K12 demo and watch all the retail youtube videos of fellow OSers, I noticed how the CPU AI uses their special moves. They spin, hesitation dribble, dribble behind the back, dribble between ... Read More

Now I run this test every year when the game 1st come out. What I do is take one skill rating, such as Juke, put it at 99. Then put Spin, stiff arm, truck, elusiveness, break tackle at 0. Then watch the CPU control the player to see how they perform on all the difficulty levels. Repeat the process across all the ratings that pertains to the RB.

So 2 months later, this is what I found out after doing this over and over.

1. In NCAA 12, the CPU don't use their special ... Read More

Ever since NCAA 12 announced a true coach mode, I was very happy. Mainly because I am about the X's and O's, pure strategy. But playing coach mode, it greatly showed the flaws in the cpu AI.

Which made me think, did they even test this mode ? Play it at all ? Not that the mode itself is broken or anything. But playing this mode, one can clearly see the flaws in the CPU AI.

Being that you aren't controlling a player, your eyes are more free to watch the entire action ... Read More

I know even more ratings isn't the most popular idea. But in order for this series to evolve and make it to the next level, they have to do it. What this series is lacking individuality. Way too much player mirroring going on.

Visually you can't a speed back from a power back. A scrambling QB from a pocket passer. A TE from a WR. A LB from a CB. And why ? Because everybody move the same way. They just go from point A to point B, the most direct route.

This isn't ... Read More

Is EA Sports game changers program hurting or helping EA Sports games ? I know when the program was 1st announced people were thinking oh wow, we finally have a voice. But do we really have a voice ?

Lets be honest here, majority if not all of the people in the program come from media. They either own a game review website, work for a website, writter for a website, moderator for a website or participated in an EA sponsored MAdden or NCAA tournament some where.

We all know or should all know that online gaming is the money maker for businesses. This is the sign of the times. If your business doesn't have an online presence somewhere, you will struggle and be swimming against the current.

But at what price should we, the consumer have to pay in order to achieve this goal ?

It has gotten to the point now, most developers are short changing the single player experience to the point that story mode only last 10 hours of game play ... Read More

It seems like everytime I turn around and look on Twitter, I see Donny Moore tweeting about a roster update for Madden 12. I mean seriouslly he is already on his 4th roster update.

I give kudos to Donny Moore and the Madden dev team for striving for excellence and constantly tweaking their rosters, adding new animations and tweaking game play AI. They have the technology and ability to do so and they are making the most out of it.

Then on the other hand I look at ... Read More

In this game and all football games really, it is way too much north and south running by all ball carriers. There isn't a visual difference between a power back or shifty back or a difference between a pocket passer running or scrambler.

All the ball carriers in this game have tunnel vision. What ever side they started running on, is the side they will stay on. They don't ever cut it clear back across the other side of the field, even when they have the speed and acceleration advantage ... Read More

This year Madden and NCAA 12 are so close but so far from a complete game at the same time. They have made big strides in some areas and taken steps back in other areas. With Madden 12, they nailed presentation, but their piss poor commentary completely takes away from everything you see visually. Quick fix, turn off commentary.

NCAA 12 looks great, however they lack the chain gang and arguing with the refs animations that their big brother Madden 12 has. They have head coaches ... Read More
