The Celtics have made yet another big move with Cleveland sending PF JJ Hickson, C Anderson Varejao, & James Johnson to the Cavs, for PF Al Harrington, C Kendrick Perkins, & SF Omari Casspi. The Celtics get a nice big off the bench and their old teammate Perkins who will be welcome back to Boston with Open Arms. Boston also gets young shooter Casspi who will also come off the bench. The Cavs get Varejao back, and a nice young starter at PF Hickson as well as defender James Johnson.

The Celtics started another season off strong going 6-0 in the 1st 6 games, but despite the success most games have been very close and 2 even by 1 shot, including game 6 vs. Hawks when Pierce, who was double teamed with 5 seconds left in a tie game gave a perfect pass to Hickson for the easy dunk at the buzzer to win. Morrow missed 3 games with a ankle injury, and the Celtics signed Mo Evans to fill the void, but he didn't get any time with Finley playing well in the absence. There have been trade rumors however revolving Hickson as he feels he deserves a starting role. Here are some stats:

Spin: The Celtics were very busy this year as they wanted more size, toughness and rebounding down low. They traded Allen and West for Duncan who should be a big help there and well as aquiring Anderson Varejo from Cleveland. With Duncan/Varejo starting and Hickson comming off the bench, it should provide solid rebs/blks and size down low. Rondo will look to continue his amazing play, and Pierce will most likely be the number 1 option on offense with Duncan 2nd. Prince/Morrow/James Johnson will handle the other wing duties, with Michael Finley playing a more veteran presence when needed.

The Celtics pulled out 3 more decisive victories and continue to roll. The bench were able to get extended run during the 3 games, and David West has emerged as a 2nd option on offense with Ray Allen. Also Rondo has stepped his game up another level scoring more while adding ridiculous assist numbers . At the end of the 3 games, the Celtics also got Chuck Hayes, and Marquis Daniels off the IR so made these moves in response:

- Released SF Sasha Pavlovic
- Sent C Hassan Whiteside to NBA D-League

The Celtics cut ties with PF Kevin Garnett sending him to Indiana for PF David West. GM Danny Ainge said the move was to better help them this year and next. Garnett was struggling averaging only 10.2pts and 3.8reb per game, but his 1.7 blks and 1.2stls will be missed. The Celtics also lose about 8-10 mil in sallary and will look to West to score more for the Celtics, and with Hickson comming off the bench scoring in bunches the duo will be on the court a lot and will provide the C's with more scoring options.

Celtics make their first trade of the year, sending C Jermaine O'Neal, PF Brandon Bass, Celtics 2nd Round Pick, & PG Avery Bradley to the Sacramento Kings for PF/C JJ Hickson, PF/C Chuck Hayes, & SF Dante Greene. The Celtics weren't getting the offense from O'Neal who wanted more touches, Hayes gives them that same position and good rebounding out of a guy who dont expect many touches. JJ will be an upgrade over Bass off the bench at bosh PF and C. and Dante Greene will have a very minor role but could get some minutes of garbage time.

The Celtics beat 2 strong rival teams in Miami and Orlando and blew out the Bucks so their bench got some extended run. Its a great start to this year going 6-0 and looking strong to start. Pierce continues to be the top scorer and Green/Bass are 1st options off the bench. KG and JO are doing good on the defensive end making teams work to get points.
