Wow...the 1st place Celtics have been upset in round 1 vs. Charlotte in a 2-0 series for the Bobcats. The fans are irate blaming the GM for dealing Rondo and Pierce at the deadline and not getting any chemistry going with the new pieces. The GM has apologized and has promised to build a contender for the upcoming season.

The Celtics looked great after the shake up at the deadline and look to be the favorites to repeat as champs if they can keep this up. They look younger and more energetic out there and it should be great. They improved to 10-2 with a tough win vs. Knicks and 2 blowouts vs. the lowly Pacers and Hawks.

3 Team Blockbuster:
- Celtics Trade PG Rajon Rondo, SF Paul Pierce, C Amir Johnson, C Johan Petro
- Celtics Receive PG Jrue Holliday, SF Andre Iguodala, PF Carl Landry, C Kosta Koufos, PF Craig Brackins

- Nuggets Trade Lawson, Joe Johnson, Landry, Koufos
- Nuggets Receive Rondo, Pierce, Johnson, Petro

- 76ers Trade: Holliday, Iguodala, Brackins
- 76ers Receive: Lawson, Johnson

Comment from Boston: We made this move for a number of reasons. We didn't see the team keeping Pierce after this season as we wanted to get younger. Iguodala helps us there. To get that swap we had to move Rondo but we feel we get a great young PG who can shoot a bit better but we lose some passing and defense there. Brackins will take over a bench role, Koufos wont dress unless injury and was involved for salary reasons. Landry gives us more scoring down low off the bench over Amir who was only producing 4pts 1.9rebs off the bench. We will see how this effects the rest of the season and playoffs.
- Jrue Holliday has came out and said he wants to nail down an extension at seasons end.

The Celtics stepped up their game behind 3 very impressive performances by Aldridge. They won all 3 games to improve to 7-2 and reports are surfacing of 2 offers the Celtics have received for Rondo/Pierce. The team says they have no interest in dealing Rondo or Pierce but might look into a deal for Pierce after this season as he would have 1 year left. Rondo said the rumors wont distract him from playing his game and we hope not. Reports say names such as Conley, Gay, Joe Johnson, and Ty Lawson have all been in talks for the duo.

The Celtics went 2-1 in games 4-6 pushing their record to 4-2 overall on the year. They blew out the Bucks, but lost to the Cavaliers in a bad loss as they were down 17 at one point but lost to a Irving buzzer beater. Rondo had consecutive triple doubles in games 5-6 with steals. Here are some stats and a breaking trade:

- The Celtics have agreed to send C Roy Hibbert, SF Matt Barnes to Portland for PF LeMarcus Aldridge. The Celtics wanted to cut down on leaning on Pierce/Garnett for offense as 20 shots each a game was getting to be to much. Aldridge will come in and provide relief of that and should be number 1 option with Pierce, allowing some stress off Garnett. The Celtics also sign SF Metta World Peace to a 1yr/550K deal to replace Barnes.

The Celtics start off their title defense in a nice fashion going 2-1 with wins vs. Miami and Charlotte but a tough loss to the Nets. The East final from last seaon vs. Miami turned into a good game thanks in part to the trio of Pierce/Barnes/Rush who put the D down on Lebron and allowed only 6pts from him. The Celtics aquired Rush from Golden State before game 3 vs. Miami. They tried to get him by signing him to an offer sheet in offseason, but Warriors matched.

The Boston Celtics have defeated the Mavericks in game 3 to win the NBA Title in 2012 in the 1st 14 game Season. The Celtics took game 1 at home, but lost game 2 in Dallas by 14 points. The Celtics came back strong to win game 3 at the Garden by a score of 82-78 and what a game it was. With 30 seconds left Marion missed a FT that would have put Dallas up by 4 but instead the Celtics go to Garnett who misses but followed up by Hibbert who gets the bucket And1. Nash next possession got slack and Rondo picked his pocket and went in for 2. After a Dirk miss, Hibbert iced 2 FT to win it for Boston.

Offseason Rumors:
- The Celtics are looking for a starting SG, and not denying resigning Allen if nothing occurs. They are also after a nice player to come off the bench and reports say if the right offer comes up for Hibbert they would consider moving him for a combo of players to get that. Backup
- The Celtics are after a new backup PG as Thomas didnt get the job done after coming over from the Kings
- Boston is also looking to change up the backup bigs (Thompson/Hayes)

End of Season:
The Celtics finished their last 5 games going 3-2 and it really looked as though age would be catching up to them. They lost to the Bobcats, and Bulls but defeated Miami, Detroit and Atlanta with ease. The team in general shot bad all around (Stats from individual games coming back next season.
- Rondo won MVP, Defensive Player of Year, 1st Team All Star and Defensive Team
- Pierce won 2nd Team All Star
- Doc Rivers won Coach of Year

Playoffs (Best of 3):
- The Celtics started off the 1st Round vs. Orlando and won with ease winning 2-0. Roy Hibbert shut down D12 (13ppg) and proved to be a worthy acquisition. Pierce was the leading scorer with 26.5ppg, while Jason Richardson was the leading scorer for Orlando with 16ppg

- Next round was against a tough Bulls team who beat them in their match up at the end of the season. The Bulls were missing Derek Rose to a ankle sprain and therefore The Celtics won the series 2-0 but game 1 was very close and it took a Ray Allen 3 and 2 Free Throws to finish the game. The MVP for Boston was Kevin Garnett (22.5ppg 10rpg 2.5bpg), and the Bulls MVP was RIP Hamilton (22ppg, 4.5rpg, 2apg)

- The East Finals featured the Celtics vs. Miami. Boston won this series 2-0 as well despite 2 outstanding games from Lebron and Bosh. Wade didn't show up and the depth of Boston along with the defense on everyone else seemed to be the reason. The MVP for Boston was Kevin Garnett (27ppg, 10rpg, 1bpg) while Lebron James was the MVP for Miami (35.5ppg, 7.5rpg, 5apg 1bpg)

I bought MLB 2k12 and received NBA 2k12 in a combo pack. My previous dynasties were all 2k11, so I decided to start a 14 game NBA 2k12 franchise w/ Boston while I'm waiting for the baseball season to start. I picked the Boston Celtics and right now I'm at the All Star break. Here's whats been going on:

Celtics Moves:
- Trade PF Chris Wilcox, PG Avery Bradley, 2013 2nd Pick to Cavaliers for PF Tristan Thompson, PF Samardo Samuels.

-
Trade PF Tristan Thompson, C Jermaine O'Neal, 2013 1st Pick to Pacers for C Roy Hibbert

- Trade PG Keyon Dooling, PF Brandon Bass, PF JuJuan Johnson, 2014 1st Pick to Kings for C Chuck Hayes, PF Jason Thompson, PG Isiah Thomas

-
Trade SF Sasha Pavlovic, 2014 2nd Pick to Hawks for PG Janero Pargo

-
Sign PF Kevin Garnett to a 1 year extension + 1 year player option worth close to 8 M/Yr with a no trade clause.

** With Rondo, Pierce, KG, Hibbert (signed 5 yr extension w/ Pacers) locked up for at least the next 2+ seasons, the Celtics are debating resigning Ray Allen to a 1 year season for 5 M/Yr extension. Sources say around the team that Ray wants to stay, but Boston is looking to acquire a younger 3pt shooting SG in the offseason. The team may consider going back to Allen if they can't get a player they like.

3 Games after aquiring Salmons from the Kings, The Cavaliers dont like the way they look. Losing to Boston and not producing much the Cavs traded PG Ramon Sessions, SG Anthony Parker to Denver for PG Andre Miller, and SG Aaron Affallo. Sessions was putting up around 12 assists per game, but last 5 games cant seem to score the ball shooting a brutal FG%, and averaging only 5 points. Miller will start and should be better shooting the ball and getting good assist numbers (10pts, 11ast in 1st game). Affallo is a nice upgrade at the SG position and now with Affallo/Salmons, the Cavs feel like they have 2 nice scoring wings as second options behind Jamison.

The Boston Celtics have made a move, sending SF Omri Casspi, SF Quincy Pondexter to Sacramento for SF John Salmons, & SF Travis Outlaw. The trade gives the Cavs a better scorer on the wing to help out Jamison, and it gives them a more reliable option in Outlaw off the bench. The Kings get 2 nice young assets in Casspi, and Pondexter who are trying to build for future. Cavs GM said after the first games of the season he thinks they can make a push for the playoffs, and he thinks Salmons, Outlaw helps them more currently.

The Cavs (3-0), started the season without an early test in terms of team played, but every game was close all the way through until the 4th quarter where the Cavs pulled away.
