Thats it? 7 gigs just to fix simple game logic? Come on 2k

You're really telling me it took them over 6 months to fix simple logical errors and animations that shouldn't have even been in the game to begin with?

What the actual ****.

All that for 7gb? Also to want to see if this is really ''fixed''

- Improvements to double team logic for more appropriate rotations and to prevent help defenders from leaving their assignments.

Never played a 2k where the double team logic wasn't wacky.

That's it? I thought Ronnie said this addressed lots of gameplay issues? Half of the patch is about dribbling. Come on 2K.

wonder why they asked what users would like to see patched.

Because they think we're stupid enough to believe they care

Well the notes were disappointing.

AWESOME - Improvements to double team logic for more appropriate rotations and to prevent help defenders from leaving their assignments.

DON'T CARE - Enhanced several dribble size-up combos to make them more responsive when chaining moves together.

THANK YOU - Improved logic for off-ball collisions to prevent excessive bumping, resulting in a smoother offensive flow.

FINALLY - Removed select dribbler collision reactions that would slow down the ball handler when contact was made from behind.

MEH - Offensive AI enhancements for better decision making when countering double teams.

NOT SURE WHAT THIS WILL MEAN - Fixed an issue that would allow you to travel if rapidly chaining together certain rhythm dribble animations.

Overall I'm fairly happy with the changes that were made, but it's not nearly enough and some of these are 6 months too late. 2K is a strange, strange company.

------------

This better not equal as a nerf to online defense - it's already bad enough - pretty much making offense easier than it is. People don't like to pass as it is - some of these things atleast made them pass. Knowing 2k they try to fix something and make something worse.

--------------

- Fixed an issue that would allow you to travel if rapidly chaining together certain rhythm dribble animations.

Hopefully that means speedboosting is nerfed atleast - but i doubt it. If so then atleast we have something positive.

--------

Very pissed that they didn't adress brick wall. Or atleast pick dodger. Pshh.

The best we can hope is more positives than negatives come from this patch.

I wonder if "Among the changes" means there is more they did their not telling us.

How about fixing the issue where young guys (21,22,23) will retire because they haven't played in a year? That's really annoying while playing MyLeague.

I'm hoping they implement some type of D-League next year to prevent this

Actually thought I'd see something defense related. Should have known better.

That's what I would love as well. We had it before bring it back. Especially with there being more teams now.

I'd love if they could just implement some sort of call up system. Allow each team the ability to call up to 3 players (this way there isn't a revolving door of prospects). Any player called up is under contract with the team & takes up a roster spot. You can send them back down to the dleague but they are still your contracted player.

The TL;DR version is :

"Defense can go to hell"

So.......load times? I'm praying they just forgot to put that in the patch notes and that they actually fixed it.

Was watching this stream of this patch - guy was playing park https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6ZRS3_A4cg

Speedboasting seemed to be decreased in terms of speed - the guy said 2k made it harder - so in turn the defense seemed better because people couldn't just constantly blow by you - but it could be placebo so we'll see. Hopefully that's the case - i would love a more defensive oriented patch.

Defense being possible makes things much more fun - not constantly watching people score easily because of quick sand defensive movement compared to offense (in large part because of speed boosting). It also encourages team play. Not sure why 2k doesn't realize that.

Praying over here.

Is this a joke? April fools right?

I'm so happy about these changes... They were game killing for me. Certain fast break teams were killed by these 2 changes

-Improved logic for off-ball collisions to prevent excessive bumping, resulting in a smoother offensive flow.

-Removed select dribbler collision reactions that would slow down the ball handler when contact was made from behind.

This one use to happen to me 2-3 times a game
- Fixed an issue that would allow you to travel if rapidly chaining together certain rhythm dribble animations.

Anyone that says that it was only 7 fixes are cry babies jk. Seriously though.

Every patch we see "7 gigs for that?"

Yes, 7 gigs for that. Seven gigs always, no matter what they change, because of the way they structured the console installation. Every patch has to overwrite seven gigs of data, whether it's one little fix or a bunch of big ones. The only change you could see would be if they added art assets to the game, which would make the patch bigger than 7 gigs. Seven is just the minimum for the console version of this year's game.

I know this has been explained before, and obviously hasn't done much to stop people from posting the same "7 gigs for that" complaint every patch, but I'm hoping that if the explanation is posted every time that maybe it gets through to one or two more people, eventually weeding out the nonsense altogether.

By the way, for comparison, the PC patch was just over 45 MB because the PC installation uses the smaller data files typical of PC games, rather than the large chunk files of consoles.
