According to LD2K, another NBA 2K17 gameplay patch is coming soon and they are looking for community feedback. Mike Wang has created a poll on Twitter on steal success frequency. Make sure to vote.

How about when I drive the lane and get shoulder charged and lose the ball.

Expanding on that:

Too many wrong calls. This is a video game not real life. If there's one thing I don't want replicated it's wrong calls.
I see people get blocked and it goes to the team who blocked the shot. Like no, if you blocked it out of bounds it's still ours.
Same as that tackle animation bs. Either needs to be a foul or the ball stays.

Too late now for sure, but can green releases not be money. I'm sick of playing guys who learned their shot so they can shoot 9/10 from 3 in games.

How about can we fix centers or anyone for that matter getting mugged in the paint?
People jump on pump fakes and block the shot that was never even a shot.
You can grab boards and get stripped instantly.
People jump on your back and you get stuck either for a three seconds call or a travel.

And while we're at it...

Thought the last patch fixed the loading screen freeze.

Now it's not only back but everything takes minutes to load. Like five minutes just to load into a save file is too much in 2017.

some areas of this game are just a flat out joke. I'm not going to waste my time going into too much detail but could you fix PNO matchmaking? Could you get rid of the mirror matches? Could you fix the bad pnr defense and rotations? Could you let me have control of my player especially in the paint where it seems like I'm running over magnets?

Could you make the AI recognize backdoor cuts? I play on ball D and I have to say...this year is the worst on ball D experience I've had ever... It's like you get punished for playing sound OBD. You're on ball and next thing you know there's a man cutting unabated to the cup with no help from the AI. I can't believe how this franchise keeps going backwards. It was a good game out the box.

The whole double team system needs to be totally re done. Just because you double team me in the post doesn't mean I am AUTOMATICALLY screwed and have to pass or I get ripped. Same as the perimeter. There should be a post protect ball button I can press when I see a double coming which gives me 2 extra seconds to pass. On the perimeter the double team protect button would put you in a mode where you stay on your pivot foot and spin around looking for a pass like in real life. The thing about this is you can only pass to players you have a line of sight on. Now of course the best teams would abuse this so naturally youd have to make double teaming way harder on the perimeter. Maybe you go as far as putting a colored circle under the guys man who doubled you to make it easy for even casual players to make the pass. I hate playing with trash slow PGs who get doubled every play but never find the open man
Definitely the part doing the moves and getting blocked is annoying.

You got guys who do the same move over and over but can't be stopped then guys like us who actually have skill in the post get punished lol foh

The lack of fastbreaks has hurt this game bad imo and like others said the double team has to be fixed. Me personally I'm getting tired of having to go to clear space on Xbox and delete the stuff to get the game to load. Now my game takes forever to load this weekend ahs I get double audio

What they can actually change or what I'd wanna see changed?

Way more fouls on early jumps inside. Can leave the knock aways, but they need to be called fouls.

Much lower vertical height on rebounding.

Increase inside scoring/lay ups vs bad defenders.

Nerf picks. I was playing choops 2k8. Picks seem decent in that. 2k has the same engine, same animations, they just happen in different frequencies.

Add to ball security for bigs while making moves and going to the rim on breaks. Too many strips on layups.

Add more VC earned in general. That's not gameplay, but it kinda is. A lot more like 33-50% across the board. You want people *playing your game.*

Should be enough. I'd prolly play if they could get some of those things done. They def need to do the VC thing. Game's been out long enough anyway.

Edit: oyea, that double team 'glitch' is annoying vs ai.

OK here's a quick rundown of what I think 2K should fix in the next patch.

1. Dribbling.

Change the dribbling animations back to what it was like at the beginning of the 2K17 release, back to before patch 1.6 hit and ruined the dribbling animations. You can see in this video, Harden's crossover animation is cancelled. This is what was possible before patch 1.6. After patch 1.6, this became impossible, which affected the explosiveness of offensive players.

Link below shows what should happen (this was dribbling at the beginning of 2K17). Instead, after patch 1.6, we are forced to complete the initial hesitation animation which is awful.

2. Double teams.

Remove double teams altogether if 2K cannot rewrite the AI in time to make it more logical.

3. Grope-flail-strip animation.

There is this annoying animation where the dribbler goes into the paint, and is about to attempt a layup, but then instead of finishing through the layup, he gets groped and loses the ball.

This should be a reach-in or shooting foul, but there is no call at all and the dribbler just loses control.

4. Loosen CPU on-ball defense.

CPU on-ball defense is ridiculous. The bumping and godly reactions of the CPU to every single one of my dribble moves is completely unrealistic. Unless I break their ankles, nothing breaks them down. Fakes and hesis do nothing against a CPU because they immediately recover.

Realise that the CPU needs to be able to be broken down by faster players.

CPU recovery speed is unrealistic.

This so much! Defense needs a major boost in terms of just basic movements. It feels so off it's not even funny. Playing defense shouldn't feel like your playing NHL hockey on ice skates trying to move around on the court just trying to simply move to keep up with someone dribbling a basketball. Nor should screens be like the NFL were you get dropped to the floor all the time or get caught up in long drawn out animations and can't move.

Bring dribbling back to the way it was at release. Secondly, improve the defense so the dribbling cannot be exploited. I am guessing users were exploiting something with the new dribbling mechanic for it has to be tampered with. Just improve the defensive side of the ball so it cannot be abused.

Allow us to add/remove headbands and add/remove sleeves from players in the game. Deron Williams looks silly bald without his trademark Caesar fade, so I want to put the headband back on him.

Update badges and hot zones for players on the official roster to match their performance this season.

Also would be nice to see hot/cold zone effect on makes and misses reduced by a lot across all game modes. Right now it's way too easy to green release from a hot zone and near impossible to make anything from a cold zone no matter your players ratings.

1. Improve off ball paint defense. It is to easy to pass to a cutter in the paint.

2. Allow us to keep our hands up by holding the right stick to deflect passes thrown directly over our defender's head. This would prevent alot of the paint spamming.


3. Allow players with high speed and ballhandling ratings to blow past slower defenders.


4. Please lower the standing dunk frequency online. ZBO shouldnt be dunking off vert in traffic.

Hot/cold zones have almost always been like this, for years. Why is it people are only noticing it NOW? I always made sure I had my hotspots together before going online.

- re-define shooting off the dribble as shots off the dribble and not just leaners and hop-steps. As of now, the sharpshooters are all Curry because they can do whatever dribble moves and still stop and pop.

- lower standing dunks significantly...across the board.

- make 50/50 balls actually 50/50 and not 80/20 in favor of the offense.

- return dribbling to how it was before patch 6 with a greater hit to temp stamina for dribble moves that require R2.

- more fouls for players with a low block rating and for running into shooters

- passes should be more susceptible to deflections when thrown at some in the 'hands up' animation.

I think #1 priority should be to fix the issue of Random Freezing/Restarting of the game.

I think Core Gameplay fixes(player movements, etc) should be a must, NOT fixing things that can be fixed thru a thorough Roster update(Ratings, Tendencies, Badges, Hot Spots, Individual Plays & Playbooks). I see so many issues that people post that can be fixed thru this type of Roster update.
