Also, I want me this broadcast fielding cam (stationary, with pan and zoom abilities of course). Maybe a hair higher, otherwise it's great! Someday...

That is an annual thing for me. It is usually the very first thing I tune every year (along with arm strength, and base runner speed) and thank goodness these are the best, most responsive sliders in sports gaming. A pleasure to tweak and then enjoy baseball bliss for an entire year till the next release!

Great catch and typically there is a day one patch for this very reason.

As far as positioning, its why sliders were invented. Not a big deal IMO. If a guy hits a double, does it matter if he barely makes it into second so long as the outcome is a double. I mean, the devs do the best they can to represent the game. I think tinkering with outfield sizes or messing with positioning would likely create other issues at this point. To me the extra base hits are basically dialed in, particularly when I saw a ball go over the head of a CF in one of the earlier vids from this year. I also suspect the new physics and wind may help in this regard.
Agree and agree. And this game is easily the best tuned (at All-Star) out of the box. It is seriously minor the type of tweaks some players need (like yours truly) to get the game in the sweet spot they want.

The game looks simply gorgeous. I can’t wait for my Showcation March 28th - April 2nd. I finally gave myself the entire week (except for Monday lol) off to sink in and play the living crap out of the game on release week.

My wife thinks I need professional help......badly.

The game looks incredible!! I am excited to get my hands on it this year. With the new ball physics it looked like to me even foul balls at the plate had a different look to them. That ball rolling foul was also better looking than what I have seen in the past.

The player models are much improved. The faces look fantastic this year with the lighting effect. Just really excited to see these things with the camera set I normally use. I am one of the hardcore players who like to play every inning so these improvements in game play animations mean a lot to me.

With the new presentation, graphics, ball physics, grass effect, animations, equipment, created players, and stat overlays. It should more than enhance franchise and season modes for me this year! Oh yeah and they were sweating!!

small potatoes but I didn't see a lot of chalk degradation in this video...

I haven't gotten the game in 3 years, but is that really ball physics?
When I watch the video, the first thing I notice is that the framerate is better and that's why the ball looks better gong into play.

Maybe its both. Either way, it looks more like super mega baseball, and that's a good thing.

I really hope they didnt take equipment away again. I'm really hoping they added Adidas & Mizuno batting gloves along with Mizuno fielding gloves & Nike catchers equipment. Hopefully they'll show us all equipment on tomorrow's super big stream!

No doubt they are configured to the best place for the game's sake. Just looking forward to what else will be in store regarding outfield footwork, momentum, and future ball, air, & ground physics put in play in future iterations. The lines simply just seem to still hog up some doubles. Seems to be the only thing that poked its head out from the past. Rest looks pristine for sure, especially some of the new animations. So much has been done this year, it's incredible.

Of course, that was what I meant when I said I would be working the sliders. I wasn't complaining about that; they are tweakable for a reason, and they work very well no less.

Did they mention anything about new wind? I haven't heard of the matter.

I hope so, but I haven't seen the Nike Air Huarache at all. Maybe that is because they are trying to show off more new stuff, but going based off of last year it leads me to believe they took some stuff out rather than expanding on brands already in the game. I hope I'm wrong though. Doubt Mizuno batting gloves are in. Joey Bautista wasn't wearing Marruci batting gloves in the video either. Also doesn't look like Adidas batting gloves are in either. Every video/stream we've seen with a player that has Adidas cleats has a generic batting glove. Hopefully they actually show all the equipment tomorrow. Also, every video/stream we've seen the players that wear Nike Huarache has something different on. and I haven't seen the Nike Vapor Elite batting gloves that guys like Adrian Gonzalez and George Springer wear that were in 16. Everyone has the Swingman Pro on.

Damn you're right... Hopefully we'll find out tomorrow or in 2 damn long weeks!

Will grass tech be on display during actual gameplay, or would we only notice it in replay?

gotta love them skipping batters resetting after a pitch while keeping in 20-second close-ups of the pitcher. glad they have advanced metrics on this stuff.

I'm with you. Don't know why they always play on fast play or hybrid and mashing the X button ( same during the Thursdays twitch). They have a beautiful game , let us enjoy it in all his beauty ;-)

I was getting this game after seeing the first few streams and this 80 man team amazes me every year. It's the only sports game I support every year and they do these little things that keep you buying. Good for them.

Yes, franchise isn't where a lot of people want it and I feel MLB 18 will be the year they do the updates. I just have a feeling, reading some of the replies in other threads and seeing a lot of posters disappointed this year and the fact they haven't touched it in a few years.

I'm not one that talks much about trade issues and the little things that a lot of people get bothered about. Not saying they don't have their reason, just not something that effects me. What I like is the look of the game and feel. To have it feel like a real life game. The little things like grass tech and the sweat I enjoy. Gameplay looks smooth and looks beautiful. Like I'm watching on tv. Kinda makes me want to go join a team and play ball again. Lol

That's actually a good question. Is there a defensive alignment that pinches outfielders closer to CF that "closes gaps," or are there shifts for out, in, right, and left only?

I'm fully aware where they are at is optimal for the game's current engine, but just wanted to tinker time-to-time to see what and where things can occur depending on the coverage employed.

Looked like Gardner was using a Mizuno bat unless I'm mistaken. I didn't go back and look which I will do now to confirm. Also Bautista wears Marucci batting gloves (not sure if that's what you meant) but I don't believe those are in either.

Game looks really good but disappointed in the lack of improvement on the franchise mode. Still on the fence of buying it.

Also noticed batters still sliding into position in the batters box. Hopefully it will be fixed. Still happens in MLB 16 with last patch!
