NBA 2K17 News Post

NBA 2K17 patch 1.04 arrived earlier this afternoon for PlayStation 4 users, the official patch notes have just been revealed. Check them out below and let us know what you're seeing.

The same patch is coming soon for Xbox One and PC. While no official release date has been given, they typically arrive a week later, give or take a couple of days.

UPDATE: (10-12) The patch is available now for PC users.

UPDATE: (10-14) The patch is available now for Xbox One users, weighing in at 2.61 GB.

GENERAL
  • Corrected an issue where some postrelease uniform colors would clash with the opposing team’s uniform in certain matchups.
  • After a made basket, the score will no longer update on the scoreboard until after the animation has completed; this should be much less confusing.
  • Fixed a case where your friends list in the Who’s Online menu would disappear while viewing it.
  • Contact Dunk animations should now properly stay equipped on your MyPLAYER.
GAMEPLAY
  • The Relentless Finisher badge should now give the proper bonuses on contact layups when leveling it up.
  • Fixed an extremely rare hang that could occur when a player was attempting to grab a rebound.
MyPARK/2K PRO-AM
  • Fixed a case where certain jump shot animations would result in the shot meter reporting an incorrect very late timing during high-latency situations.
  • Addressed an issue where you would not be granted a win if your opponent disconnected during a Pro-Am Walk-On/Team game under certain conditions.
  • Users in Ante-Up will now always be presented with the correct ante-up amount prior to joining the Got Next queue.
MyCAREER/MyCOURT
  • Corrected a case that would result in loading into a black screen heading into a game.
  • Connection events will now always appear on the schedule once you agree to them/set them up.
  • Addressed a hang that could occur when attempting to enter the 3PT/Dunk Contest when your MyPLAYER was injured.
  • Fixed a hang that could occur when loading into a Live Practice when a number of players on your team were simultaneously injured.
NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves.

7GB and two weeks for a couple of fixes in the gameplay. Nice.

Maybe in November with 1.05 defense is finally improved who knows.

Well at least in my career it definitely feels slower to me - I doubt is placebo - but it's always a possibility. Again though - the point is some changes are not mentioned. Maybe because they're not intended. But that doesn't change the fact that people are experiencing it regardless of it being not mentioned.

I'm really hoping Real Player % specifically just forgot to get mentioned, as that has been confirmed as fixed and it would suck to have to wait for the patch after this one. I want to see the others addressed but I was hoping for that one specifically in this patch. If any PS4 players can check, I would be very appreciative.

MyLeague contracts are the other biggest sore spot for me. I'm not sure we've actually heard anything on this front since release.

I hope that is all true.

BTW guys - the total game size still says 60gb to me after downloading it. I think it only increased by 3?.

Release? Man we haven't heard anything on that in 5 years :/ They don't love Sim nation.

Wow. Disappointed not to see anything about MyLeague's rookie automation problems, trade logic, or the overemphasis of team training effects on 3pt shooting.

Big men still leading the break instead of passing to PG?

I'm very very cautious when it comes to the placebo effect, even gave a full disclosure it could be a possibility when I posted in the other thread, but I surprisingly stand by what I said regarding offline play.

I've been playing for almost 3 hours now, more missed shots in the paint for the computer, and they're missing open threes more (hall of fame). If you're an offline guy playing against the computer, you don't feel the computer defense is "less in your face"?

If some of you are deflated after reading the notes, I'd highly recommend playing before you give up on it.

I was honestly very close to putting the game down for a while about a week ago, it felt way too predictable and the shooting percentages were such a turn off. If you're an offline guy, give it a shot.

7gb just for that?

I was hoping for updates in terms of new kicks that have not been added in the game yet or correct away sock colours for raptors, knicks, sixers etc... why is taking so long for this to happen?

or you are having a placebo effect since none of that was mentioned and I find it hard to believe that with the criticism 2k is taking they wouldn't mention all that kind of stuff in the patch notes

fixing trade logic aint' happening. That's been an issue for years. It's such a complicated thing (taking into account need, ability of player, salaries, whether a team is rebuilding or making a run for the title, wanting draft picks, how to value picks based on the actual draft class, etc.) that I just don't think it's fixable.

The training issue should be a no brainer to fix and I'm disappointed it was not in the patch notes.

Defense feels worse wtf . So much sliding at the park

Was there a tuner update ?

Well ... those patch notes were quite underwhelming. The scoreboard bug is fixed, but that was more an annoyance than a big issue (at least to me).

On to the next patch, then. If the schedule holds, once we get this patch on PC, PS4 should get the next patch a week later. *sigh*

They didn't mention the shot meter glitch in the notes (or is that 'certain animations...' mention in the notes it?) and yet Beluba has mentioned it being fixed on twitter.

Anyway, Im happy with how the game is playing offline, so I'm certainly not hanging out for a mammoth fix.

# 36 Ray Vibes @ 10/11/16 09:15 PM
Well, at least 2 of the things I wanted fixed were taken care of.

Passing speed and pace was altered in the last patch whether intentional or not - but everyone felt the difference - it was not mentioned in the patch notes.

We need more "over the back" fouls. I just played a game with my SF and was guarding a stretch big. He would jump over me when the rebound came down when I had him boxed out every single time. This happened 4 times , in one possession..

Does it fix the broken matchmaking in PNO?
