I usually try not to complain about ratings anymore but this is bugging the **** out of me. How the hell is DLo goona have a higher rating than Schroder. If anything Dlo should be a 76

You know what bugs most, people saying xyz should be a 76.

xyz should be a 81.

Will never understand this if you have ever touch a 2k roster.

I was reading Smoove's comments and there was one guy dropping the knowledge. He had a full list of players where he was like he should be 3 points higher, him should be an 82 instead of a 79, that guy should be 81 instead of 82. Pretty funny, the guy is just completely clueless and he gets about 300 likes on his comment.

lol does anyone remember 2k14 last gen where NYK JR/Shumpert/Felton were all 80 overall? Hilarious.

Although it beats me why they've gone away from the 2k12 ratings gap. That game was brutal. No one on the Raptors was even above a 70 overall on release. Would love that separation again.

Some players may look off, but most players look really good (face wise) in NBA 2K.

It is one of those details that should not be so complicated to fix...

And they are very soft, it seems that the players are playing in a windstorm.

Just stop what? You can't sit here and say these guys have short fat faces irl... so you stop it. I'm not talking about the likeness of face scan but the facial structure of 3D model.

The faces aren't long enough and are too wide, plain and simple. That's why some guys with face scans still don't look very accurate.

Take your boy Kyle Anderson for example; if his face was slimmer it would look more like him.

I think as the years go on, and technology gets stronger, eventually they'll get it right. That's why they make the game every year. That's optimistic way of looking at it.

I can't understand why someone would say: "stop saying this or that"

We are commenting on what they are releasing. If the players looked awesome, we would say so, we have been giving good feedback on things that look great (improved lighting, improved hair, some legs seem on point, etc). But this is a forum, and we only have screenshots to comment, what do you want us to do?

Also, ideally this only leads to improvement. It is the regular dev's dream to have a forum of people who shows you the way to improve.

All they need is some talented modeller that understands anatomy. It's not the tech either....just look at uncharted 4. Maybe if 2k had a longer development cycle the graphics and sound wouldn't suffer so much.

He is right though - Dennis Schroder should not be rated lower than D'Angelo Russell.

It doesn't take extensive knowledge of ratings/rosters to see Russell got the "market" treatment.

79 Dennis Schroder (ATL): 15.5 PER, 51 TS%, 29 USG%
78 Jeff Teague (ATL): 17.9 PER, 55 TS%, 27 USG%
78 Deron Williams (DAL): 14.6 PER, 53 TS%, 22 USG%
77 J.J. Barea (DAL): 15.4 PER, 54 TS%, 24 USG%
77 Jordan Clarkson (LAL): 14.3 PER, 52 TS%, 23 USG%
77 D'Angelo Russell (LAL): 13.2 PER, 51 TS%, 24 USG%

79 is clearly a stretch when compared to his peers. Russell's mediocrity was a pretty big reason why the Lakers only won 17 games. He SHOULD be better this year but that's certainly not a guarantee.

The thing is...rating is not a number that they assign to a player based on overall performance.

It is an average of several individual ratings. Offense, defense, athleticism, etc. A player can have a lower average than other and still be more productive in the NBA.

Overall ratings don't show the whole picture.
