The 'real' pictures they had for the last couple of years were ok but too repetitive and I hated the silhouettes they had before that.
I don't remember exactly, but there was a max height for QBs in past games where there was never a QB over 6'4 or 6'5 (can't remember which it was). Hopefully we'll see the odd 6'6 and 6'7 QB like there is in real life.
It seems weird that you're able to see a UDFA's development rating before signing him. Could create some craziness post-draft in an online CFM.
Why would they make the DEV rating viewable before signing UDFAs?
This is going to kill online franchises when people can just seek out the superstar DEV UDFAs. Guys who are at the draft and the fastest to search through the FAs will end up with the equivalent of multiple 1st/2nd round picks just by scooping up the SS and Fast DEV guys. Alternatively if the league has an offline UDFA draft it will also give teams at the top of the draft order an unrealistic advantage.

There are checks to this. The first is dynamic dev trait, which may turn that 56OVR with a SS dev trait to a quick or normal much faster than you'd expect.
The second is that unless they focus on the UDFA (they only get 3 to focus on) they will not accrue a ton of XP from sitting on the bench and not playing (which furthers the chance of losing the SS dev trait).
The third is that the player takes up a roster spot, and if they're put on the PS, another user can easily poach them.
In the draft, he selected a WR with the 17th pick of the 1st round.
Said his OVR rating was a 78.... then it said he "reached" because the player is the 47th ranked (Ovr) !
(46 rookie players are rated 78 or higher ? .... please say this is not so !!)
Not so much worried about the College thing, could just be a freak anomaly.
But that ratings thing.... I just hope this is before tuning or something.
Yeah, I had that same thought. They stretch out ratings but then in Year 2 you have 50+ Rookies with Ratings 78+??
This year's top 10 rookies:
Jalen Ramsey (Overall 82)
Ezekiel Elliott (Overall 80)
Ronnie Stanley (Overall 79)
Roberto Aguayo (Overall 79)
Joey Bosa (Overall 79)
Laremy Tunsil (Overall 78)
Jack Conklin (Overall 79)
Corey Coleman (Overall 78)
Hunter Henry (Overall 78)
DeForest Buckner (Overall 78)
Plus ESPN's list that came up later:
Jared Goff (Overall 77)
Carson Wentz (Overall 77)
Josh Doctson (Overall 77)
Myles Jack (Overall 76)
Leonard Floyd (Overall 76)
Jaylon Smith (Overall 76)
Laquon Treadwell (Overall 75)
Will Fuller (Overall 74)
C.J. Promise (Overall 74)
Braxton Miller (Overall 71)
It'd absolutely kill franchise if there were top rookies flooding the mode the year after.

You guys read that screenshot wrong. He picked that player 48th (it was a second round pick). The player was the 28th ranked player. That still means there are 28 78+ guys in that class, which is still high, but not as much
I feel like undrafted rookies ratings shouldn't be concrete but a range. Kinda dumb just going into FA and looking at who has superstar development
Yeah , i agree, not a fan of it for an online franchise option. I agree their ratings should be in a range, especially on the 50 added after the draft , that didnt seem to even attend combine at all.How would you know their speed exactly?

The first thing your talking about there ,is something i dont even like being in CFM , the fact that players will change dev rating , even at times weekly.I just really dont like that at all.For numerous reasons , i have mentioned before and wont get into here.
The second point there, If someone is able to snatch up that WR for instance he showed with 92 spd and accel, with ss dev. I dont know many online franchise guys that would see that guy , pick him up, and not work on him to make him a great player in a season or two tops.Madden still makes that rather easy for people who want to do it imo.In other words i dont see them just picking up someone like that and placing them on PS for someone else to possible steal. that WR would be on active roster, and they would be sure to get him reps in practice and in games by subbing him in , to get him what he needs to progress. That is just the mindset of online franchise guys.
I do like how they changed the scouting to the first trait is 15 points. That will make it alittle tougher to scout as many people , as deep as before. Personally id love to see a scouting points slider for commish like the one they added for xp , but thats just me.
So i like some of what is mentioned in video, some of it, not a fan at all of . But , hope it means more gems to be found in later rounds this year for our online leagues overall.
Is it the 23rd yet? i see i have alot of testing to do......
maybe add an undrafted rookie free agent stage to the off-season for M18. allowing for teams to put a bid in on guys to fill the roster with positional depth being a key factor in AI decision making.

At the 6:34 mark.... it's the 1st round, 17th pick.... he picks a WR (C.Cavka) says he is rated 78.
In the bottom left of that screen ...says he reached, he is ranked #47 in True Talent (Ovr) and you drafted him at #17

As far as I know it is not nearly that touchy. And it keeps some element of randomness in CFM, which a lot of people were looking for.
So you can still scout 70% of the class well enough to have good info on who to take.... without scouting package. For an online league , i just feel thats a bit high, maybe thats just me though. Id really like to see a scouting points slider for commish added.

Yes i know it wont happen every week, but i am sure John white has said it can change weekly . like if a guy gets a player of week award. I also know that dont mean everyone who gets player of the week it will change, i just personally dont like that having any way shape or form , causing a guys dev to go up, and i believe possible down with a bad week as well?
Guys just dont tend to rarely do that in real life. #TrentRichardson still trying to be more than a slow dev guy ....

Trent Richardson is actually a great example of how the new dynamic development rating is realistic. dude was a top 10 pick and probably had like superstar or at least quick development rating. now adays? would u say hes superstar development? of course not. in past maddens, despite being terrible he would still maintain his superstar development and be very valuable. in the new madden, he wouldn't. which would you rather?

Id rather a guy not be able to go up or down at all due to stats in a week period . Thats my point. At end of season, sure maybe a few guys could go up or down, but im skeptical at how many will change , in 1 league , in a seasons time. If its alot of guys, its overdone, which tends to happen with new features. Thats my area of concern.
Yeah , i know the next comment, well thats what player editing is for. But thats just adding more work to an online commish's already large load of things to handle.
When i hear a guy can go up due to player of the week, it just sounds an alarm. Of course ill wait and play it out, I will def be making a chart of how many go up and down in first season of our league .It should be a low number overall, every season IMO.
Im not one who likes the whole xp based on stats in the first place. Just makes better users , have more stacked teams quicker in leagues. Not a fan of that at all.
