Pros:
- In early Round 5, finally got KOed by the AI and not by GNP. Rocked with a 3 punch combo. Backed away but was too close to cage. Head kick KO. I like that the AI now has killer instinct.
- Submissions do seem harder to pull off.

Cons:
- Robbie Lawler thinks he's a wrestler and is attempting submissions against Maia... TDs and subs are probably due for a tendency adjustment.
Takedown tendencies have been tweaked. Lawler does occasionally attempt takedowns so he should have some tendency to do them (Some fighters who never attempt them like Joanna have the tendency tuned all the way down and rarely if ever attempt them.)

The problem is the AI doesnt strategy regarding who its fighting. Lawler should NEVER attempt a takedown against Maia because Maia will destroy him on the ground. But the AI doesnt take into consideration who it is fighting so Lawler fights the same no matter who he's fighting.

How about Jose Aldo? He seems like grappler in this game. Takedown tendency have been tweaked? I'd like to know the reason Why he doesn't include them? He attempt a lot of takedowns than real life in this game. It's really bad. Junior Dos Santos's AI as well. He was throwing way more kicks than jabs and straights during whole fight with me. It's terrible. I have seen his kick under 5 times in his whole career.

Skynet can speak to this much better than me and he can correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.

Takedown tendencies have been tweaked. At release, everyone would attempt takedowns even fighters like Joanna J who dont have an actual takedown in a UFC fight. Skynet tweaked that a few patches ago. Now you will never or rarely see Joanna shoot for a takedown. Same for Holly Holm. Wonderboy. There are several others too. We actually looked at their real life stats and if they didnt attempt a lot of takedowns their tendencies were reduced.

Aldo is difficult because he does attempt takedowns. He is actually slightly below the UFC average. He attempted 2 against Lamas. 6 against Zombie. 9 against Hominick. So AI Aldo should attempt takedowns.

So that goes back to the problem I spoke to earlier. Aldo doesnt shoot against people that he knows equal him on the ground. He didnt attempt a takedown against Florian, Mendes, Edgar or Faber. Likely because he thought he had an advantage on his feet.

The problem is the AI doesnt take that into consideration. AI Aldo doesnt see Human Mendes and think "My stats are higher than him on the feet so I should just stay on my feet." That is a big hole in the AI and something that I hope the team can address in future versions of the game.

Regarding the kicks, that is actually a different issue. Ive talked to the devs about this issue given that JDS and the Diazs AI kicks way more than it should. I'm hoping that they can find a way to reduce the striking tendency to use kicks more than punches for those fighters.

That's a really good point on takedowns. There are a few guys that are going to take anyone down, but most aren't going to go for a takedown if they are considerably worse on the ground. When the AI is deciding 'where do I want this fight' that would be a good thing to factor in, if not in 2 then in 3 for sure.

Thank you answer man. I really hope that this AI tuning is not final version.

You would hope there would just be a big dash board off toggles and sliders that would easily drive decision making like this. What I imagine when thinking of tendency development (AI) for mma games must be far less complicated than what actually goes on under the hood.

This is the biggest thing I learned as a GC. I came into thinking that changes that seem as simple as increasing stopping power across the board or decreasing the number of kicks a fighter throws are as simple as a few lines of code or a slider tweak.

They arent. And thats why some changes that seem simple take longer than you or I think.
