Good point, just trying to make sense out of it not being in the game, but its still early.

Yea hoping we see mouth guards and knee braces later. Crazy we don't have knee braces yet since they were in NCAA and basically every offensive lineman wears at least one.

Yea it really is a shame, last year I was begging for them to just copy and paste the NCAA equipment into the game and I would've been satisfied. Hoping this year will address all my equipment issues and not just some of them.

Would really love if they brought back the colored visors.

Think they had green, orange, red, blue and chrome forgot what madden that was though

Believe they are no longer allowed in the NFL. I know a lot of players use mirror and Amber visors in practice but no one ever has them in games any more

I admittedly am not an equipment guy by any means, I enjoy the aspects of the game being as close to accurate as possible but as long as it looks good and not sloppy, it doesn't bother me not being 100% accurate (as long as it isn't enough to be glaringly obvious to me like some of the uniforms had been in the past).

That said, I'm happy for the equipment guys who have needed this to be updated. It looks good and can only help immersion, especially for those that feel inaccurate equipment can be game breaking. Even though it doesn't effect me very much I can only get excited about this because it suggests that the dev team are listening to the fans who want more realism, rather than taking cues from the casual base that it seems the game has been more geared towards lately. Color me impressed, keep it coming at this quality EA and you may win me back over, yet.

Sorry I had to poke fun at the morons who are acting like mouth guards are the single most important thing ever in a football game. It isn't, and it isn't even close!
Thanks for your constructive input

Everyone has their "one thing" and it's different for everyone, for some it's gameplay, others it's CFM or equipment, presentation, etc... But all of these combined are what make the game great, so we can't knock a group of people just because their one thing isn't ours.

It's not a deal breaker for people but it is just a small detail that should be included. I honestly didn't even notice that mouth guards weren't in the game. It's little details like mouth guards, authentic equipment, accurate faces, etc that just add to the over all realism and authenticity of the game.

And no one is arguing it's a big thing, it's a little thing, one of the many little things that add depth, realism and immersion to the game.

Come back when the videos of gap play and new zones come out and I doubt you'll see many of us saying "Wow zones really look good but the fact they don't have a mouthpiece kills it". It's the first information out so far and pretty much the only thing worth talking about is the equipment/graphics at this point. Everything else is TBD.

I'm not huge on equipment but EA we need mouthpieces in the game. You can't go & add all this new equipment & not add mouthpieces. I hope they get them in.

I'm glad that EA finally updated the cleats in the game but it will be pointless if they still look all blurry and deformed during gameplay.

Can you clarify on this? I mean even in real life you wouldn't see cleats unless they are zoomed in up close shots.

I don't think this is what he was talking about but I know with some of the current cleats in M16, if you put ankle tape on them it actually warps the graphics on the cleats.

Some of the cleats look deformed and the colors are off from the gameplay camera. Basically they become low res versions.

I'm sorry , but the lighting and player models are still off . I mean c'mon, Gronk is the poster boy and his player model is way off from his real counterpart. I would think the lighting and realism would progress each year, but it seems like a very slow progression as compared to other sports games. As far as equipment goes, I doubt we will see mouthpieces because of facial scan compatibility.

I'm hoping the final product is more polished
