MLB 15 The Show News Post

Let's just call a spade a spade: sometimes in MLB The Show there is a player who exists only to make your life miserable.

For whatever reason, everyone has that guy they can't hit or the hitter who they can't get out. It's a natural part of baseball and its a natural part of The Show. We took some time and asked the staff who their arch nemesis is -- the answers to that question follow after the jump...

Can't get a solid hit off of Masahiro Tanaka.

Miggy and Joey Votto they always find some way to punish me when I go against them especially Votto I have had a few games when he has homered on me more than once.

Any pitcher who's entire repitoire is soft stuff.

I root against Bronson Arroyo because of this game.

Ditto on Tanaka, I don't have patience for his windup. I've always hit Scherzer well though.

Neshek. Carlos Gonzalez, Troy Tulo, and the 2009 New York Yankees.

I'm 100% convinced that since Josh Donaldson is the cover athlete, he's programmed to hit far better against me in Road to the Show... I'm a pretty aight starting pitcher right now, but since I play for the Orioles, the Blue Jays ALWAYS crush me.

10 games.
1-5 record. (Worst Record vs All Teams)
6.64 ERA. (Worst ERA vs All Teams)
39.1 innings pitched. (4th Most Innings Pitched vs Any Team)
Allowed 55 hits. (2nd Worst Hits Allowed vs Any Team)
Allowed 9 home runs. (Most Home Runs Allowed to Any Team)

Any pitcher with a knuckle ball can't get a hit off them to save my life

# 8 N51_rob @ 04/08/16 02:27 PM
Any pitcher with a mid 90's fast ball and a high 70's change-up. Usually I've found only after 7 innings of getting worked like a part time job, SCEA didn't get the velocity (according to fan graphs) right on the change.

Justin Upton once hit 6 home runs in 5 straight games off me. Haven't played the Tigers since.

I think I got Nori Aoki out once. In like about 12 tries.

Dickey threw a fastball once, I think I fouled it off.

I just started following baseball so idk all the players and pitches. But I played a dude today that was throwin knuckcurve balls. OMG!! He struck my whole line up at least twice. Really frustrating with the change ups to.

Dexter F***ing Fowler. I don't know how he isn't a diamond level player because he's like 1987 Eric Davis against me.

all of them for both.

Havent had a winning season in the Show since 06

Gio Gonzalez almost always owns me. I may have run him before the 5th inning once, but usually he throws 7-8 innings and I manage a run or two at best.

Nolan Arenado has been killing me during Conquest match-ups. I finally wised up and work around him now. Lol.

Any sidearm slinging relief pitcher. I almost hate chasing the opposing starter if I know a ghost of Quisenberry is lurking in the bullpen. Almost.

I played a game against the Rays, 2 players killed me in this game. Matt Moore pitched a 2 hit shutout against me, and Steven Souza Jr. Hit 2 home runs against me (one of 4 or 5 home runs hit against me that game)

And of course sidearmers and submarniers especially when they throw sliders away.

Always a struggle for me to get Matt Kemp out. I surprisingly have a relatively easy time getting Mike Trout out. Sidearmers will forever be a struggle (in a fun way for me since it helps me slow down and break any possible bad habits with timing and reading pitches).

I can't stop Machado from going opposite field yard on me.

# 18 garyjr33 @ 04/08/16 09:00 PM
R.A. Dickey. I usually just take as many pitches as possible and try to get him out of the game so I can beat the bullpen. Miggy Cabrera always kills me and Kevin Youkilis used to get me a lot for some reason.

# 19 kadzier @ 04/09/16 12:24 PM
RA Dickey seriously that knuckleball is ****ing impossible to hit it's like a cheat code I swear

# 20 Baseballking888 @ 04/09/16 05:10 PM
Chris Sale is always tough to hit, especially his slider.
