Let's just call a spade a spade: sometimes in MLB The Show there is a player who exists only to make your life miserable.

For whatever reason, everyone has that guy they can't hit or the hitter who they can't get out. It's a natural part of baseball and its a natural part of The Show. We took some time and asked the staff who their arch nemesis is -- the answers to that question follow after the jump...

I, for the first time in the show, managed to hold Chris Davis to a homerless game. Every game I play he hits a deep bomb, and usually in clutch situations.

I can forget about any sort of rally against Tony Cingrani. And historically I've always had trouble against Jay Bruce, Jean Segura, and Jason Heyward out. Imagine how delighted I was when my Cubbies signed Jay Hey. He was all smiles at the Cubs convention.

Sonny Gray has been making me look like a fool for years. Mostly in playoff match ups.

For a hitter, I'll go with someone who has consistently just killed me. It's sort of an unusual player when discussing someone who gives you trouble....

Colby Rasmus has lit me up for a while now. I just can't get away from him. Whether it was him with Toronto, or now with the Astros. Rasmus always seems to find a way to get a clutch XBH or HR.

There's the usual superstar players, but I'd say those two have a great consistency with ruining my day.

I;m running a Mariner franchise and I'm in the middle of May & Trout killed me early on. So from here on out I'm IBB'ing him when no one is on base or there are two out & no one on first. When I do pitch to him, I'm not even trying to paint the corners, let alone throw anything completely in the strikezone. So in effect, even then, I'm giving him an unintentional IBB

Goldy. He's in my division and I can't seem to get him out. Think he has 3 HR in 5 games. I wanna walk him but it seems like there's always a man on when he gets up

as others have said, any real side arm pitcher will probably strike me out. and a submariner will eat me alive with ease.

knuckballers have always been a pain, ever since derek jeter all star baseball over ten years ago. i pretty much lay off them on every pitch but i set my swing plane up under the K zone as i've found that the easiest pitch to hit is when it falls off a cliff completely.

Alex Wood from the windup. His delivery is very sneaky the way he hides the ball before dipping down for the release.

Adam Jones eats my pitchers alive every time I play Baltimore. As a mainly Red Sox user, that's alot. If I do get him out, it's a warning track fly ball or a liner that was close enough to a outfielder. Been happening since 2012 or 2013 when I started playing The Show. Also I can't hit O'Day at all. I do ok vs other side arm/submarine pitchers but can't see the ball out of his hands

Jordan Walden and that hitch in his delivery makes him untouchable for me. Nice thing is I get to manually DL him once I start my franchise

Knuckle balls seem impossible to hit in this game. Thankfully there are only a couple who throw it. i also have problems with any pitcher with a good slider. I'm a sucker for them.

Matt Carpenter when he's controlled by the CPU. He always seems to have an IE bonus that turns him into Babe Ruth. I very rarely play against the cards without him hitting a homerun.
