He's not wrong though for those of us who aren't interested in SOTS.
What he's talking about could stand for a makeover.
I gave a lot feedback on this very topic. I feel it needs to be different every year. It's a minor detail but it sets the tone that nothing has changed even though a ton of new things could be in the game.

It's the same principle for why they update the fonts, menu screens, and OSD annually. It gives the illusion of change, which makes people more excited to explore the actual changes.
Say for example someone on here did all the Cubs songs and walk up music. Would there be a way for me to DL that and use it?
If you're asking for one large file that you can just load into your game with no other setup...not a chance. You'll probably be able to download the collection of songs/clips needed from someone here on OS, but it's going to be on each individual user to put them into their correct positions in the game through SOTS (a list will probably be provided along with the download of where everything goes). For one team like the Cubs like you want, that won't be too much work. But to get all of them into your own game would take some major dedication.
There is no way SCEA can facilitate the sharing of songs within the game itself - that's like holding up a sign saying "sue me".

Let me play devil's advocate here...how would it be any different then me uploading and sharing a McDonalds logo under the logo vault?

Yeah good point. Just thinking it'd be really cool to get Go Cubs Go playing and all the batters walk up music. Maybe even the right organ music.

This...is grey.
You can't really take a McDonald's or other TM directly from say the McD's website and put it in the vault.
YOU are creating a logo that might be identical to McD's....
...and...I'd say that if any company DID complain to SCEA about a TM in the vault...it would be removed.
Indy Car Racing, years ago...lost the rights to Indianapolis Motor Speedway.....and had to remove it from the game. Guys cracked the files and found a way to create a version of IMS....upload it to fileplanet and get it in the game. IMS sued the guy....and fileplanet...they had to take it down.
It wasn't even an exact copy......in the interim he even upload a copy with no IMS signage or designation....still no good.
It's a crap shoot if companies will freak over their TM.

Yea that makes sense and I knew that. Just wanted to see if there would be any difference.

It's true, when it comes to user created content, the original developer is at least somewhat protected from legal issues created by the users. Games like little big planet would never exist without that protection.
Probably the best example of that happening recently was the baseball uniform conversion mod for fallout 4 that converted all of the uniforms in the game into Red Sox uniforms. MLB was pissed, but they targeted the modder, while Bethesda was free and clear.
I think you're right about them pulling down logo content that's TOO infringing...wasn't there some flap last year about someone having their Drake logo removed (as in, the music artist)?
Technically, there are two different in-game themes (the playoff broadcast top theme). Anyway, I don't think they should change it, especially with the option to change it. I compare it to Fox Sports or CBS Sports theme. That's just my opinion though.

NBA 2K16 has their Team Relocation feature where users can upload logos and graphics that other users can search and user for their own.
Just out of curiosity how will SOTS work with year to year saves?
Will the music files that you attach to your franchise (walk-ups, warm ups, jeers and cheers etc.) transfer over or would you have to redo it all when 17 comes out?(and every year after)

Thank you, exactly my point. It makes it feel like last years game (yes, even though it is JUST a small sound sample). I didn't mean to make it into a big discussion. And I am wondering if you can really change between inning melody. Isn's SotS meant for menu music, player specific walk-on music and chants?

Yeah, but don't they juice that up a little bit ones in every year? Sure FOX and CBS don't use the same them music as they did ten of five years ago? That being said, I like the post-season intro music alot more then the regulas season intro music. More suspenceful (which should be, cause it is the post-season). Just some freshing up the regular season intro would be pretty neat imho.

Yes, you can change the between-inning and intro music (you can actually set the sounds for each specific inning-top and bottom). In addition to that (and the aforementioned menu music, walk-ups, and chants/yells), you can also add sounds for errors, hits, reliever/closer entry, opposing pitcher pulled, HRs, clutch plays, strikeouts, walks, SBs, runs, and maybe a couple of others I'm forgetting as well. You can do this separately for each team.
What's cool is, you can tailor your sounds to your presentation preferences, meaning you can lean broadcast or in-stadium focused, local or national, etc. For example, I used to have setups for TBS, ESPN, MLB Network, and FOX in addition to NESN, YES, CSN, and other local/regional networks. I'd switch them up to have "prime time" or big games in the schedule. I'd also make sure to have stadium specific stuff (like "Sweet Caroline" in Fenway or "Deep in the Heart of Texas" for the Astros and Rangers).
I probably spent almost as much time tweaking sounds as I do rosters. It's actually quite deep and a HUGE boost to presentation (and keeping things feeling fresh throughout the year) if you take the time to utilize it fully.
