Madden NFL 16 News Post

The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Quote:
Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

Let us know what you are seeing!

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

After that you are all set to roll. And you can play any game you want in addition to your own each week....sorta like a "game of the week" showcase for your CFM. It's fun to play with other teams to get a feel. Also if your in a tight playoff race and you have a huge underdog playing your division rival.....take that underdog team and try to upset your rival in front of you to help your play off push!!! So many things you can do to spice up your CFM with 32 team control.

You can make it as deep or as hands off as you want. Just do the front end set up and off you go.

Also....huge thing. Before you start week one pre-season (or regular season if you choose to bypass the pre season on your intial set-up) save it and name it 32TeamMasterFile.

Then if you ever want to start over.....you don't have to go through this process ever again.

How long something like that take? I’d guess about an hour

A&S I thought you had found some issues especially at time of draft, thought I saw something about making a team you had no interest in be commissioner.

I imagine you can use existing coach in setup of 31 coaches and if you wish to be an owner do that no problem.

CPU will draft, sign FA and reorder depth charts under CPU power? I want to roll with my team and let the oter teams decide for themselves.

If I initiate a trade will the CPU control veto/accept or is it all user based?

Thanks

Also, is there a way to maintain coach firings by doing 32 owners? (Eg the user would just decide which coaches get fired at year end)

Will the auto-sign franchises still out-bid the user for free agents? Do you have to determine on your own which trades to accept/reject?

Trying to decide whether to try all this or just live with the drive goal bugs in one man cfm.

Offline. You can't do 32 team control online, just single.

With everything set to auto for the other 31 teams, they should make all the usual moves/resigns/trades as they would if not under 32 team control. The plus is you can step in and handle certain resignings/trades to correct the usually poor CPU management logic.

Those last 2 paragraphs are huge and you'll thank yourself over and over. I have been playing this way for years now.

Married, full time job, 2 kids in baseball and soccer...I need to maximize my game time! This does it. Once you save a master file with 32 team control all set up all you have to do is load that file when you want to start a new CFM. After you load it, immediately make a new save (Call it "Cowboys/Giants/whatever your new team is") and save it separately so you don't screw up that master file.

It's awesome. The CPU does everything you want it to do but you can still "step-in" to fix things or even make sure it takes smart picks in the draft. Make your own trades if you want between CPU teams. Fix bad signings/trades if you wish. I sometimes step in and control the top 5 picks and then sim the rest until it gets to my team.

It's glorious.

I have a question, is there a way to do this for online CFM with a couple other people?

Edit: never mind saw goblue answered my question.

Sounds like one is coming. The biggest issue I'm aware of it crazy confidence boosts that make gameplay a lesser experience. My experience is QB's completing nearly everything. I think the LT regression and QB awareness is still seen, correct me if I'm wrong.

I posted in A&S's slider thread and I'm posting here becuase I think we all own him a big thanks for going far above and beyond the call of duty and genuinely seeking to help everyone else get the most out of the game. He's on this site answering questions all the time and clearly not just in his own slider thread. His knowledge, insight and optimism have been a great help to me and I'm sure many others. Let's give credit where credit is due. Props to you Armor and Sword!

I'm thinking of relocate a team in my CFM and naming them the Knights in your honor!

I don't believe so, you can only control 1 team per user in online CFM.

Guys I know it sound like yo hard but trust me it isn't. I know armor like to play and control the whole league but if you want you can play with only one team and plays exactly as solo offline. Just set coach fire off and all settings to CPU resigns, draft, fill roster etc. then you never ever need to enter to any other team

Do not set others teams on autopilot. The drive goals are working if the other team is on autopilot.

As I showed on the video. Confidence works perfectly when playing with 32 offline teams.

Yup just read this, so me and my old man are still screwed on running a franchise together in same division.

I guess I can only hope Rex can figure this out and patch a fix!

I think people are saying that qb awareness and, perhaps lt regression, are ameliorated a bit by setting all coaches to progress every week. Not sure though.

So they will trade?
What if I try to trade will the CPU reject. I like to flip draft picks later in draft and don't want the final say.

Actually there is no need to keep researching. This is enough proof that confidence. Well actually drive goals are the problem. And to me it was implemented later in the game since the 32 method. Confidence is so much more balance and make sense. It doesn't reward you for silly things like getting 2 first downs. It does increase AND DECrEASE based on performance that make sense.

Also what I notice is that the confidence doesn't dynamically change in game. They do change for the next game.

My qb started with 63 confidence and even he threw a td. His confidence was still 63. Then after the next week he was awarded for that 1+ buy at the same time he was penalize for losing the game and other stuff. It's really really good. Why they add the drive goals why???? They are unbalancing the game.

If you want to play the game and plays like play now you don't have other option than do this. Is a must and the game plays awesome.

Hmm. I'm a bit lost. I'll have to read Armor's slider thread a bit more to make sure I got this. Afraid to mess it up and notice after I've played a handful of games.

Someone else said progression needs to be set to monthly, not weekly.

while I can appreciate alot of guys play this mode offline, has anyone tested this stuff for online leagues that are full of owners? Did the patch actually fix stuff or is LT regression still broken as well as confidence/drive goals ?

I've never set up a 32 team league. I have always just controlled 1 team. How exactly would I set the teams I don't want to play as?
