Also, don't forget: Along with two new teams, we get another thread to see people complain about said new teams, and that 2k is lazy because the two new teams are either too current or not the Suns or the Pacers. Then we get to see someone tell everyone that Charles Barkley hates video games due to the NBA's treatment of retired players.

Can't wait!

Not saying that's you, just that a lot of times people focus on things that aren't and never will be perfect and then expect them to be. At the end of the day it is a videogame you know .
Preaching to the choir bro lol. I've been one of the biggest 2K supporters know to man over the years (check my track record lol) All I did was point out that I still noticed a little sliding & some people get bent out of shape lol. Never said the game wasn't great. Never said I didn't appreciate the NUMEROUS improvements. Most of my posts on here are praising 2K for being the best sports game in the business. So I do give them plenty of credit for what they do right lol. I know 2K16 will be an amazing game. I expect nothing less. I don't want to be lumped into to those who complain about things for the sake of compaining (I'm not directing this at you lakers24 because I know you mean no harm lol). I simply pointed out that I still noticed sliding because I know the devs said they implemented a new foot planting technology. Even though the game is done, there's always hopes it could be tightened up in a patch. So just know that my intentions are always in the right place if I point out a flaw. Just wanted to point that out. No harm no foul. Didn't know i would cause such an uproar lol. I digress....

It's gotta be all about perception, and I know you're just fooling around, but from my side, I've seen a lot of excitement for almost all the new classic teams. The 2013 Heat caught a lot of flak because those Heat teams are barely a year removed from existing, but most of the rest of those classic threads have been filled with fist pumps and hopeful wishes of improved classic authenticity to complete the awesomeness that may lay ahead. There's been folks wishing for older clubs but they've hardly been disruptive or overly negative.

In some of the vids, some of the players actually look like themselves bringing the ball up. Can see some new animations for sure.

I know i'm sounding redundant, but I absolutely hate that we gotta wait until the week before release to get some my career action. I thought with that tease at the end of the #Winning trailer, that they would've followed up on it by now.

Oh well. At least we're under the 20 day mark.

Very exciting to see this, literally want this game tonight

All the dev. videos published thus far make it look like a really cool "video game".

NBA2K16 will be a nice companion to the "real" NBA season this year!

If you play real life basketball, what are the rules for defense...

Stay on your toes in a defensive stance
Move laterally, never cross your feet..it will put you out of position
Limit reaching for the ball..you will have better reaction
Stand between the ball and the person your guarding..leave spacing

Sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to teach how to play this game but nothing is wrong with sliding it's apart of basketball.
Of course lateral movement is important but I mean the slight warp sliding that's assisting the animation. Its almost like its playing catch up and making up ground to counter the offensive players moves. the point is the lateral movement or the slide should just be animation based without additional assistance from coding.

An additional thought about the foot-planting and sliding criticism:

As soon as an issue as core as foot planting is addressed, things that were less obvious before will become more obvious. This is a normal part of game development and unfortunately you won't be able to address everything revealed in the same cycle.

I'm not saying criticism is wrong. What I am saying is that to expect everything to be perfect with one cycle's work done is unrealistic.

When we get our hands on the game we can better make legit criticism and make it constructive so what we see now as the main issues can be focused on.

Anyone have any idea if and when we are getting a presentation blog? Also is Rob Jones doing a blog for the sneakerheads?

# 135 Cowboy008 @ 09/08/15 08:57 PM
So are the only things they will be talking about for the last few weeks going to be MyTeam, MyCareer, and The Park? I was really hoping we would get to hear what they have done in the presentation department.

To expect everything to be perfect ever is unrealistic. Look at games like NBA 2k11 and NFL 2k5. They are both regarded as two of the best sport titles of all time, especially on these boards. As good as they are not perfect. They weren't perfect then and they aren't perfect now. There will always be some kind of flaw. And like you said once one issue is resolved another one becomes more clear.

There is also a fine line between complaints and criticism and it is often lost in translation through texts. By looking at peoples' comments you can typically tell thr difference between the people that are complaining and those that have legitimate criticism. In the end we all want the best game but some people use their words better than others.

No one really talks about it but I love the improved post game. I've been playing in the post since 2k12 (They lost me with the isomotion dribbling) and I love the improved animations and physics. Nothing was more frustrating that people playing KD or Lebron at the 4 and them being able to hold up with LMA and Dirk. In reailty they are too little. In 2k15 there wasn't really a con with playing smallball on the defensive end and so much of rebounding was Athleticism based. When In reality, Memphis gave GSW a hard time until GSW remembered Tony Allen couldnt shoot. Z-Bo was killin Draymond. Those Pacers teams gave Miami issues at times when they went small. It was hard for Bron to guard David West for a whole game.

I hope that the foot planting creates a difference between post games and how they feel. For or example Lebron or D12 or shaq deep post, close to the basketball post game compared to a Kobe/Dirk/LMA post fade to face up or a Duncan/Al Jeff, hook shot heavy game. In previous 2ks between the clunky step through and drop steps and the always "very late" hook shoot made the Vucevics/Kaman or Parrish's hard to play with around the basket in the post. Everybody felt the same in the post besides their shots. The footwork and physics help the transitions in and out of the post feel smoother, and while there isn't much to go off of, I like what I've seen

IT'S BEYOND Incredible of how super uber fluid/smooth this game this year. Holy Moses .... I thought it was actually a REAL tv game. This does not look like a video game. Highly impressive!

# 139 thatguywiththebeard @ 09/09/15 02:14 AM
I guess for the time being this will do. I'm ready to get my hands on this game. Looks better than 2k15 game play wise. The FLUIDITY is bananas, player models look good, defense seems to be as good as advertised, I noticed the shift in body weight when Curry changes direction, Kyries strides on the fast break, LeBrons steps leading to his dunks. WOW.
