I just realized that if they are announcing an East and a West team it probably wont be the 11 Mavs. Im assuming the west team will be a Spurs team.

In the east there isnt really that much more memorable teams left to choose from the past 15 years but the Nets did make it to the finals two years in a row so we could get the 02 or 03 Nets. The Nets have yet to get a classic team in NBA 2k games.

Or I know its a long shot but maybe, just maybe we could see the 00 Pacers. After all, Spike Lee has some say in the game no? And Reggie was known as the Knicks killer and he and Spike had a love hate relationship with each other when it came to basketball. Just like Jay-Z supposedly convinced Barkley to be part of the Dream Team in 2k13 perhaps Spike convinced Reggie to be part of 2k16. The Pacers are another team that does not have a classic team. Or maybe they can just have the 00 Pacers without Reggie but what good is a basketball game directed by Spike Lee or whatever his involvement was without Reggie Miller, lol. Here's wishing and hoping.

There's also the 2007 Spurs Finals opponent, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Sorry but I'm pretty sure that the 2007 Cavs will not be in.

Think the last West team will be the Spurs they had a good run last decade. You could almost make a case for the lakers of 08-10( but we have enough laker teams ) 2010 Mavericks would be cool too. That German is a bad man . We believe Warriors were fun. But yeah the Spurs deserve this spot IMO.

On the east it's really in the air for me. Maybe the nets with Kidd? Younger Lebron ? Supersonics?

Yeah, myself and at least one other fellow considered a similar notion in a different thread. I personally thought maybe Reggie Miller could be the new color analyst in place of Steve Kerr and it could possibly coincide with a new classic Pacers addition.

There are teams in 2k that are not fun and I hardly ever use like the 85 Bucks, the 90 Cavs, the 71 Hawks.
Wow you're the first person I've heard who doesn't like those new teams
being included.

As for the Mid 2000 Spurs... As long as Online has been included in
the series I've never seen to many people play as the Spurs. Personally
I don't think they've ever done justice to Tim Duncan and made him
as dominant as he should be.

The only positive I could see with them being included is getting
Glen Robinson, Brent Barry and Rasho Nesterovic which I could use
for some other classic teams I want to build.

Yeah I dont really know much about those teams I mentioned and they dont stand out much to me but to others I guess they do. Why not the 11 Mavs instead of the 03 Mavs?

The 2011 Mavericks fall under the same category with which I hold the 2013 Heat - they still seem too recent and new to derive any real sense of nostalgia. I never knew where exactly I drew that line, but I guess 4-5 years is still too soon for me, though maybe there's some exceptions out there.

The 2003 Mavericks, meanwhile, hit that nostalgia bone just right. Dirk Nowitzki is still there, but it's a vastly different (and younger) form. Ditto spry Steve Nash and his long hair and whatnot. Throw in Nick Van Exel, Michael Finley and a 7'6'' guy (Shawn Bradley) and you've got something interesting there.

This squad

OR this one

and I will be entirely pleased with this year's new team additions.

When Online play first came out back then the 03 Mavs were one of the
most popular teams people used. Almost every Online game featured
the Lakers, Kings and Mavs.

The Dirk, Nash and Finley trio was one of the most popular in the league
and they were really fun to use in the video game.

I wouldn't mind the 2011 Mavs because it would guarantee us Jason Kidd
but they seem to recent and most people don't want recent teams because
they can still build most of them with the current players in the game.

^^^ Even if we don't get 2011 Mavs, which we won't, it's very likely we're getting the '03 Nets. You HAVE to have the best point guard of the 2000's in the game.

I mean, his post game may have not been refined but LeBron James was still a walking triple-double threat averaging 30 points per game and whatnot. Not to mention, he was more spry than his current self - faster, more athletic, consistently better dunker. I think there's a lot of draw for the inclusion of a young Cavaliers LeBron at some point.

In the same realm, I loved the inclusion of the 1986 Bulls and the young-with-hair version of Michael Jordan. That MJ lacked a post game and couldn't shoot wonderfully well either, but it's still a lot of fun to have that squad included.

Wouldn't mind giving this a shot, even though it was against my Pistons:

Will we get any sneak peak, screenshot anything of these classic teams before release ??

They should've gave a little teaser screenshot with every classic team reveal.

Exactly my point I've been trying to get across. 2007 LeBron was a freak of nature.

They have Steve Nash.
