I already previously mentioned that Golden State was a bad matchup for Dallas. They always have been. I still remember Dirk dropping 50+ against them in '06, yet they lost because of a Jason Richardson spinning game winning 3. My problem was never GS being a tough opponent for Dallas. They actually finished the '07 season winning 16 of their last 20 games. My problem was the fact that the 67 win Mavs got beat in the 1st round and got pummelled in the 25 point rout in game 6 with the MVP (Dirk) going 2-13, shooting 38% for the entire series, and getting outplayed by Josh Howard and Jason Terry (debatable) let alone Stephen 'Captain Jack' Jackson.

Edit: actually mentioned how good GS was to another user, my bad.

I'm actually surprised that 90% of you guys are sleeping on the late 00's B2B champion Lakers. Phil Jackson, Kobe, Gasol, Fish, Bynum, Ariza and/or Artest (depending on year), Odom, Brown, Farmar, Powell and Vujacic. As much as I hated that team (love Kobe, though), they along with the '05/'07 Spurs deserve to be in the game. Still can't get over how OP they were from 2K9-2K12, ESPECIALLY 2K11 (nikkas were godlike).

Agreed in fact I feel like the next Western Conference team revealed should be one of the past Spurs champion teams, maybe even the 2007 team. I feel like the Eastern Conference team should be a LeBron team and since there are already two classic Heat teams represented, that leaves one of the Cavaliers teams. The 2007 team was the most accomplished (Eastern Conference champions) but the 2009 Cavaliers team was the best team in the first LeBron Cavaliers era. The Lakers are more than fairly represented in the game so that is why I say the west team should be a Spurs team and the East team a LeBron Cavaliers team.

That would be cool. How many teams are left to be revealed?

Yea that was a brutal first round match up, something that eastern top seeds know nothing about. That was a bad series for Dirk but you can find a bad series for every top player.

Ask him on Twitter. Wayne's a really nice guy and would probably answer you if he's actually in the game.

Personally i prefer the 09 lakers than the 10 lakers. Not only did the 09 lakers win 65 games during the season but they were more tougher during the playoffs. Third best lakers squad of that decade.

It's more of where you take off from, did it in practice and fell on my back lol.

Nah, I'd prefer the '10 team. You have to remember that they won 57 games with Gasol/Kobe missing a combined 26 games as opposed to the 1 game that Gasol missed in '09. Also, they had a tougher P/O run but here's my personal opinion:

'10 Thunder > '09 Jazz
'09 Rockets > '10 Jazz
'10 Suns >> '09 Nuggets
'10 Celtics >>>> '09 Magic

Fwiw, their '09 opponents won 7 more regular season games than their '10 opponents but that was more due to Boston "playing possum" and only winning 50 games, which I might have been the only person aside of Celtics fans that thought so at the time. People were actually claiming that the Cavs were going to beat them in the P/O (EL OH EL), especially after Wade's 33/6/7 on 56%FG/40%3PT proved to not faze them. They were greater and deeper than the '09 Magic who got pushed to 7 games by a KG-less Celtics squad.

Just the '10 Lakers facing the Celtics alone made the run much more impressive, albeit those 21 4th Q FT's along with the questionable calls in G7 were crucial, IMHO. I'm not even going to use Perkins' injury because they're a part of the game. Though I hate but respect that particular Lakers team, I'd love to use them again in a basketball game.

Ha, yep, that'll do it too. Bust into the open floor, build up a good deal of momentum, take off a little bit further out than normal off one foot, try to hang with two-hands, come up a bit short of the palm and boom, you're Vladimir Radmonovic.

Wait, are Fisher, Ariza, Brown, Farmar, Powell, and Vujacic suppose to get me excited?

Come on. That is such a boring team to play with. There are plenty of Lakers teams and we already have a young Kobe. There is just no need for it.

That's the thing we have a young kobe but we still don't have him at his best, Kobe in 09 is as close we are going to get to that without adding the awful 06 or 07 lakers team, plus how the hell can you have the 08 Celtics and not one of the B2B teams is almost sickening and a very big oversight in my eyes and would make me unbelievably bitter when going through the classic teams.

I'll be bummed if we get yet ANOTHER Lakers squad. Give us a team that doesn't have a classic team in the game.

# 199 kxw7340 @ 09/04/15 12:09 AM
I would love to see one of the final 2 teams be the 2009 Denver Nuggets squad with Melo,AI,Billups, and K-Mart that went to the Western Conference Finals against the eventual champion Lakers. Personally I believe that would be an incredibly fun team to use, especially with players like Melo,AI, Birdman, and Nene. I obviously respect the past Spurs title teams, but I feel that the fact that the (declining) core of the Big 3 is still present on the current Spurs team might dissuade 2K from including them, but I could be wrong. A 2009 or 2010 Lakers team with Kobe and Gasol would also be a good choice; I originally thought it would be overkill since the 2000 Lakers are confirmed, but since they have both the 12-13 Heat and 05-06 Heat then it is a possibility.
