Alright thank you, I hear you. Won't happen again.

Well from what I've read of your posts, wouldn't you agree that this graphical decline from something so promising is totally senseless and pretty unfair to the fans?

Am I wrong or there is a new commentator?

I want a TNT presentation for the special games of the year, like the televised ones.

Other than that it should be a normal NBA LP presentation.

The bigger your team is and the better they perform, should factor into how many TNT games you have.

Also, listen to those sounds when they catch the ball, and when they go into the net.

I feel like a dev already acknowledged they're tweaking the lighting just a day or so ago in this forum, so why keep going on about it? When I see the game on my tv I'll take about it more.

Can we get Melo's old head scan back though?

Blake got measured at the NBA Draft combine and got measured in shoes and seeing players play in shoes his height is 6'10 .

Faried is 6'5"

Not to mention this very thread is about a video where it's evident the lighting has been vastly improved.

And yes, the court reflections were much too bright in 2K14. There's no disagree or not about it. They objectively just are, but judging by the latest video, I would like to see them turn up the reflections a bit more, especially at low angles (fresnel). We're getting so close.

There's also one more thing that needs to be turned up to sell the illusion of arena lighting. The under light caused by the arena floor itself. There's likely a bit of it in 2K, but you can see how consistently the surfaces pointing down and facing the floor are brightened in photos and videos from nearly any camera angle.

I would think this could be implemented as a simple ambient diffuse environment map or a reflectance map with mip mapped roughness levels. I bet one already exists so maybe it just needs adjusting, and the engine looks like it already has realtime ambient occlusion, so the map just needs to be multiplied by that so you don't get weird lighting in armpit cracks and such. If that was implemented or adjusted, it would add a subtle but powerful effect of feeling like the players are actually in the space of an arena with hardwood floors and arena lighting.

Trailer looks amazing. Much more than i expected this early. Only issue i have is with the so called "scanned shoes". IMO they look terrible (look at the 2:18 mark). nothing at all as i expected...Probably the only eyesore in the vid, but not a deal breaker. Game looks beautiful.

TONS of side-by-sides in the spoiler. (And this wasn't even everything from the trailer). If you still think this looks like 2K15 or worse than 2K14... lol..

Oh my goodness they even captured Blakes derpy dunk face, and Deron looks spot on good post man.

Would love to see 2K14 added to the comparisons.

Man, the contextual facial animations are spot on. That Blake dunk face.

It does feel like Davis took a step back though. He looks weirdly bloated. Ironic because he might have been the best thing about the 2K14 trailer.

It's almost like his face is too smooth and it doesn't look as realistic as the rest...

Then I look at this:

and it somewhat makes sense, lol

Well I do feel that the earlier games captured the tones around his eyes and general shine and complexion better.

The new AD looks like he removed his makeup after an exfoliating rinse and a hard night of partying or something.

I remember back when they had Nash licking his fingers on walk up...... maybe now they've done the guts of it (2K14 and 2K15) they've been able to start touching cosmetic things.....

It seems the celebrations are more signature aswell - I thought they were blanket post basket animations last year with maybe a few unique ones.

Rose, KD, Davis, Faried (to name a few) looked pretty damn close to the real ones celebrations.... could just be a well made trailer though....

Faried and Melo took the biggest step back IMO. Davis isn't too far behind.

I can listen to Dan Stevens and Peter Okeefes commentary from over 10 years back, and to be honest it sound more fluid than anything we've heard since in any NFL game....

So I just want to make sure we don't lose any momentum from what the current team has built with whoever they decide to pick up...

If ya'll want to remove that crazy *** Harlan laugh I'm all for it though

I think the key is, 2K minimizes the dead air during a game. Always talking.....of course we will hear things again and again and I guess you ultimately tune it out a bit, but the fact talking is always happening feels real.

LD said more on presentation soon - so that's gonna be another 50 page thread surely haha......

DYING to see a snippet from broadcast cam with commentary etc. though...... TNT score bug at the bottom and all. HAHA!

But the sweat-- really nailing it this year. Best sweat since 2K11. Well better than 2K11, but that was the last time sweat effects were really compelling. They finally adjusted it so that it produces white hot highlights.

That's all coming in the next trailer.....tomorrow right LD?
