Well, if you recall he was injured on 2/16/2010 while working out, so he didn't run that offseason. He suffered a broken foot and missed the combine and the pro day.

The number we do have for him is 4.52 - results from a private workout. So that 4.38 does seem a bit fast.

Interesting. Sometimes I forget google searches aren't concrete info, hah.

Thanks for your insight

92 I think, nothing wrong with that - he's got elite speed on the scale.

Wonder if height matters on this game in relation to speed ratings? Guys with a longer stride have higher speed ratings? Idk

I just want speed relative to players position. Nothing more i dislike is a user lb or safety who stops there momentum and still keeps up with djack Achilles heal of madden

Can someone sort through hit power if they dont mind. Im curious to see what team has the most now that the 49ers are depleted

# 67 fitz2k2 @ 08/12/15 08:39 PM
wrs last yr had like 96 max speed.now they have average joe speed.even elite wrs.which makes no sense.

Interesting that guys like Von Miller and Montee got faster....

Anyway. After my initial reaction I chilled a bit. My team looks solid. My defense should be great if I can develop Roby and Ray heavily year one.

Latimer is gonna be a monster

Green did not run at his pro day, only did drills, the bench, the vertical, and the broad. The P3DX could have broken on his run as his ET was at 4.56.

Abbrederis' fastest time was a 4.50 both ET and HH. He did not run at his pro day.

Cobb ran a 4.46 HH and 4.55 ET. He also did not run at his pro day.

If you only take the HH, then Green (4.45) < Cobb (4.46) < Abbrederis (4.50).

If you only take the ET, then Abbrederis (4.50) < Cobb (4.55) < Green (4.56).

If you only take the best time, then Green (4.45) < Cobb (4.46) < Abbrederis (4.50).

This was ggsimonds post....

"Green ran a 4.45 40 at the combine. His lowest time was 4.35
Cobb ran a 4.46. His lowest time was 4.36

Sure a very small margin, but if we use 40 times to rate speed Green should be faster.

A request for everyone: Most of us do not have every NFL player's numbers memorized. Could you guys provide some data when you complain about so and so's speed?"

Where is Greens 4.35?

I'm kinda hoping they made some sort of mistake where they got a couple of the columns switched around. I seem to recall this happening back when they released ratings for their NCAA football games. Some of these speed ratings are ridiculous

I'm really curious to see how the speed affects the game and I'm curious to see how an edited roster with the speed ratings adjusted impacts the game.

I wonder if the speed rating is set "on a curve" per position or something. So a 91 speed linebacker is equivalent to like an 85 speed wr or something. And the speed rating is more of a rating for THAT position...

I doubt this is the case, but would make the most sense with a LB at 91 speed and all these WRs and CBs lower...

# 76 IUxHOOSIERS @ 08/12/15 11:06 PM
T.Y Hilton 92 speed and 91 acceleration, while his catching is at 93. I watch every snap of the Colts season and his speed and accel should be up a little bit and his catching should be around an 85. I have no idea what is up with these speed ratings.

For those who don't think this is a problem that's fine. I don't have a problem at all with all the lowered speeds I just wish that there was some rhyme or reason to it.

Just looking at the Cowboys roster. Joseph Randle now has 83 speed. That's fine but, the TE Hanna is still at 89. Also the other RB's for Dallas seem to be about the same speed as last year. So why did Randle get a drop but, not the other guys?

Lot's of other numbers like this. I like lowered speed it just seems to have only been dropped for some guys and not others.

I also don't want speed to just be dropped just to drop it. It should be based on some data or something.

This just seems to be random.

And the Randle thing doesn't make sense if it's supposed to be older players getting dropped. He's still young.

I'm just confused I guess. I know I can just use the FBG rosters or adjust my own but, I'm in a online CFM so we will just have to use the EA rosters so we have lots of confused guys in my league right now.

The speed Ratings seemed to be heavily based on 40 times . It's obvious because if you compare guys with similar speeds they have similar 40 times minus a few guys here and there . I actually like what they are doing brings some logic to the speed rating system.

Exactly !

Donny Moore@Donny_Moore Aug 4 all based off real world 40 time data now. With age-regression built in.

DCEBB2001 Posted this about speed regression in another thread.....

" I have done a lot of analysis on that, and guys who have been hurt will drop, but on the average, a player with a 15 year career will only drop about a tenth in the 40. I have data to support this. A guy like Donald Driver started out at a 4.45 in 1999 and was only at 4.56 in 2011. These guys don't drop off as much as some would like us to believe. "

....Now 4.45 to 4.56 does not sound like much, but in Madden's rating scale, that is about 6 speed points. So a player would go from a 89 to a 83 in this example.

If that is what was done then I'm fine with it. I'm a little concerned that the CFM rookie classes aren't going to be scaled with the new speed ratings though.

I guess we'll see.
