NBA 2K16 News Post

2K has just revealed the first NBA 2K16 digital short, titled Stephen Curry: Beyond the Shadows. The video showcases some of the first looks at NBA 2K16 gameplay.

The video chronicles the inspiring history of NBA superstar and cover athlete Steph Curry’s rise to dominance. Narrated by Spike Lee, the montage of gameplay and true life footage showcases Curry’s journey from being drafting by the Golden State Warriors to winning the 2014-15 NBA Championship.

This video is the first in a three part series focusing on the life story of NBA 2K16’s cover athletes, complementing this year’s #BeTheStory MyCAREER narrative.

We snipped out all of the NBA 2K16 footage from the video here, if you want to take a look.

NBA 2K16 will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on September 29. If you pre-order at participating North American retail and online vendors, you get it on September 25, along with in-game bonuses.

Wow man the disrespect on these boards is at an all time high.

I look at it as 2K invested in $ to take their game to a next level. They basically have the same thing in common passionate basketball junkies with either some programing skills mods etc, basketball experience or actual video game making. Think about it some more so 2K hired LeftOs, Czar, Scott OG, Bedz, etc. to appease the Sim crowd which is a gnat to their sales... sounds logical lol

No doubt. It's just a game. But 2k can also do better than #OMG #Staytuned. #BreakingtheInternet And then show a jumpshot.

Wow you're actually serious.....2k coolaid? Good god....holy....you believe beds does nothing else other than rosters? You're either envious or some deep jealousy that the man WORKS in the gaming field.

You think I'm on 2k's jock that I'm happy that members of OS got hired to 2k? Dude...you can't be this ****ing dense....these same guys who had the SAME complaint like the rest of us through the years are NOW working for 2k. They have access that most of us only dream of. HOW IS THIS A NEGATIVE THING?

It's a blessing and a curse 2K is so involved with the community.

On one hand it's reassuring to know they're so active with the community on these forums, twitter, their streams, etc.
We know they see (some, or most) of our concerns, glitches, and exploits.
So we know (even if they're not addressed) that they know these things exist.

On the other it leaves false expectations from certain people that they have to listen to every single post in every single thread.
No one on here is any more entitled than anyone else, and it's crazy 2K actually hired community members to their team.

I think they should hire an online guy too; like a guy who plays and sees all the exploits and glitches in them modes..that's the next step lol.

That's the issue with some OSer's they feel like the game should be catered directly to their needs, the hardcore players. Unfortunately that's not what caused the NBA 2k series to blow up. The hardcore were there from the beginning but the casuals are the people that caused the series to become the highest selling basketball game year after year.

The hardcore sim players are the minority. Those of us on OS are just a fraction of the yearly sales. Without us 2k would still be successful. If 2k focused strictly on the hardcore sim players then they would eventually lose the casuals

still no reason to go left.
you dont forget those who held you down just cause the world makes you rich. understand?
I hope this aint the case with 2k. If it is, (highly unlikely) then that would mean that them and their competitors have done complete 180's of each other.

That's pretty much any job in the world...when have you every worked a job where your employer tell you "sure you can do whatever you want! We have no type of regulations here." Like what's Czar going to do just start his own marketing campaign without 2K's permission and start talk about all the new features? By next year he wouldnt have a job with 2K.

You can think Czar does nothing but last year he did a pretty good job of telling and showing us exactly what he did to help improve the game.

Wow, this thread is absolutely disgusting man.

I've seen it said before, but it's sad how entitled this community has become.

If I were a dev, I wouldn't even respond to this troll bait. I'm sure it's gotta be disheartening to pour your heart and soul into something and have people that could NEVER do what you do criticize your work so heavily.

Atrocious.

Forget marketing and all of that. Would YOU want your life's work to be scrutinized to down to the very last letter for weeks? Knowing how hard you worked on this ****? Knowing how it's going to be great, again?

For all of those people screaming about the competition this, the competition that, are we forgetting that 2K/VC NEVER had to keep their competition from making a superior product. The fans spoke, on both games, one was trash, the other continued to improve. Fact.

They scream out the failures and whisper the accomplishments, this is crazy. All of these complaints about not only one of the top 5 games, but one of the best selling for a reason.

Guys, please keep doing your thing. And fix those damn servers!!! Lol

They hired czar to sell 27 more copies to the simheads at operation sports.

Spoiler

They haven't forgotten the community though. There are members from the team that look at these boards and respond. In this thread alone their are people from the 2K team posting comments. Just because they don't cater to every single one of our "needs" doesn't mean they forgot about the hardcore community.

Not every move they make is for the OS community and when they do release a video that isn't direct to please the hardcore heads it doesn't mean they forgot about use they have to market to all intended customers, not just us.

I'm not saying 2K's perfect or that they always address the most important issues but I understand they haveore customers to please than the OSer's and that they can't address every single issue year after year. It would be impossible for them to fix everyone of our complaints each year and add all the features and modes they want to.

I literally work on nothing but gameplay and even then it's stuff that really,

But at the end of the day I know people just really want to know if their one or two
must fix or no purchase items have been addressed and I can respect that.

Even as I continue to work at this hour on things for the sim heads on here who
really believe we don't care anymore. All you can do is laugh and wait until
your allowed to show your cards.
they've been spoiled by the greatness man.

I think people also seem to forget that 2K is one the best sports games on the market when it comes to giving both the sim and casual crowd what they want. With the amount of settings and sliders they give us, we can make the game play the way we want, and it's amazing. If you want a super easy game, you can have it. If you want a super challenging game, you can have that as well.

Gotcha. Sorry to associate you with them. Some of these kids sound like the children you see in a store crying until mom or dad buys the toy they want.

That's a great way to summarize going into any online game and being beat by zig Zagging, screening under the basket and 95% 3 point shots. Don't make this game seem like it caters to the sim crowd

That's what happens in online games. I don't play online, so I should've specified that I was talking about offline, but, no matter what game you play you will find people who will exploit the game to no end. That's the price you play for playing online. Should it be that way? No, but that's how it's probably going to be for a long while.
