I can't tell a thing about those body scans from those pics.
I feel the same way. Maybe I don't play the game as much as others but nothing about the screenshots, except for the new jerseys and maybe the shoes, stand out as being a improvement from last year. If the article didn't say 2k16 screenshot I probably would have assumed it was 2k15, again except for the jerseys.
Imo the other game is looking better graphically for what it's worth. Still the big factors will be how do the games look in motion and, more importantly, how do they play. If 2k has the superior gameplay I won't mind if the graphics are inferior.
It is like they wanted to show jerseys but didn't really want to show body scans yet. The jersey by itself wouldn't have looked right
*Those jerseys are very detailed. The body scans are definitely improved. They caught DeRozan without a brush haha. When you get scanned they are capturing each and every detail of his hair is shown.
*Arms are definitely improved from scanning as well as calves
*Those Kobe BHM kicks are just detailed wow. I hope they have authentic colors and not team colors for players. Check out the sole pattern on them jawns as well as the midsole reflection. That shoe is about as authentic or realistic it can get. That is Rob Jones right there I guess haha
Nobody gonna talk about how the lighting makes everything purple? everything looks great besides 2k's failed attempt at making an enb.
A lot of guys have stated that the lighting is off in different ways, but 2k is obviously not going in the right direction in the lighting department, which is confusing because 2k14 had great lighting but I will still wait to see gameplay videos.
How are you coming to that conclusion? The T looks just fine in-game unless you have a reference photo that other people are unaware of.
from Spurs Nation/Bills Backer HQ
Exactly. I noticed what he's talking about also but he seems to be neglecting the fact that the waistband is elastic and it stretches when worn. When someone is actually wearing the shorts, the T area may just look exactly as it does in those screenshots. Or, it may be that the white part is not stretched enough in those screens. Either way, we won't know until we see it being worn.
Now that the body scans seem to be close to the face scans in terms of quality the only thing they need to work on imo is the lighting...like so many other dudes have said..
It's annoying to me because it was so much better in earlier games idk how it's worse now.
As others have said -- finally! Glad to see 2K update things.
To be fair I need to see alot more, these screens are very limited. The shoe scans looks great. The body/tattoo scans look good. Skin textures are better. (Not sure what happened from 2k14 to 15, where the skin textures took on a manakin look to them.)
But I agree with what a few others have already said, the lighting still looks drab! This lighting still looks too dark, which is unfortunate because 2K does a better job at jersey color accuracy than Live's muted colors. But I feel the players (and courts) should be illuminated from the stadium lighting to give that realistic look, which 2K has never really done. (This has really been an issue with night/indoor games in Madden titles.) I don't know if it's just their artistic direction to give things a darker, more cinematic, "theater mode" lighting or what have you. But I feel it is holding back 2K's graphics. It doesn't force me to do a double-take to make sure I am not confusing the game's graphics with real life, I can still tell I am looking at a videogame.
Looking forward to seeing more screens Just glad player models have been upgraded to do 2k's gameplay more justice.
It was incredible 2 years ago, now that everyone's gotten used to current gen graphics, not so much
On another note, I hate the lighting, the cool color filter and how dark it looks. Except for 3D scanning, the graphics are stagnating
I agree JBulls, but I am starting to think with all the features 2k adds to this game over the coming years the graphics will degrade even more or just stay the same as it is. Just look at 2k14 and how amazing it looked the players popped out at you but in a realistic way and the courts had polish and reflection to it, and the players sweat details were amazing even from a far, but that game was almost bare bone compared to 2k15 with all the features and modes they added, and with that we lost court reflection, players sweat is only noticeable up close, and the overall lighting got darker.
