Madden NFL 16 News Post

The Madden NFL 16 EA Access trial is scheduled to arrive on August 20 and give subscribers 10 hours of gameplay.

With Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR and Battlefield Hardline setting the pace, it looks like 10 hour trials for EA Access subscribers will be the new standard.

If you are looking to get an Xbox One, Microsoft and EA Sports announced their Madden NFL 16 Xbox One bundle, a couple of weeks ago. It includes an Xbox One console with a 1TB hard drive, a full download of Madden NFL 16 and a one-year subscription to EA Access. You can pre-order on Amazon for $399.99, with a scheduled release date of August 18.

NICE!!! Thanks for the info. I was hoping they didn't scum us by doing 6 hours after other games have been getting 10.

10 hours is it? Why release a full 5 days early if you can only play 10 hrs?

It was 6 hrs last year. Be thankful they almost doubled it.

Also, its not a release. Its a trial. Everybody who downloads the game on EA Access isnt necessarily going to buy the game.

If 10 hrs isnt enough, you can always buy another monthly trial for $5 with a second profile and play it for 10 more hours.

I new to Xbox, is there anyway to play from another account after the first ten hours are up? I'll probably burn through them in the first two days just testing things in CCM

Yes but you need a second account and a second credit card. Also, I dont think you can access things like offline CCM saves with the second account since its tied to your original account.

I will use my 10 hours to strictly play exhibition games with as many teams as possible using short quarters.

Question about EA Access: Can I cancel at anytime? Also, with 'The Vault', say I download a game from the Vault, and then do not have EA Access the next month. Can I still play that game or does it stop once my Access subscription stops?

EA Access may be the greatest deal I've ever come across. I'm not big on the NBA, NHL, or Fifa, so they'd never be yearly buys for me. With the Vault, I have all of them, and even though they're soon to be out dated, I don't know the real life rosters to even care lol.

@GiantsFan2013

You can buy either a yearly or monthly subscription (There's probably an option for 3 or 6 months as well but I didn't look.) Games in the vault are no longer accessible if your subscription runs out. If I were you though, I'd say go for the year long membership. 30 bucks gets you all of the games in the vault, which is about to add Dragon Age. It also gets you these early trials and 10% off all digital downloads.

Mine literally paid itself off when I just sold the games I already owned in the vault. This deal is great. I was hesitant at first as well, as I don't particularly trust the company and thought there was going to be some sort of twist, but there truly isn't.

You can cancel at anytime but it automatically signs you up for a monthly subscription. So when you cancel you have to go to Xbox.com sign in and under subscriptions you can cancel there ONLY. Once you cancel you will no longer be able to play games you got through EA Access. Hope this helps.

I miss the days when I knew for a fact 10 hours wouldn't last me for 5 days. I'm not saying I won't be able to, but it's not a definite.

Very nice news even if it was expected.

Madden is yearly tradition has a lot content and is highly repayable.

Why limit it?

In fact, EA should sell it on the 20th for people willing to by it digitally right from site.

Bc EA access is a TRIAL, even their full games in their vault are trials bc once your subscription is up you can't play them.

NBA 2k is doing something similar to what you're suggesting though. People who pre order(physical or digital) get the game 3 days early.

In my opinion, many of us have played enough Madden football to know exactly what to expect after one game with 5 minute quarters.

Yeah I guess I miss the program EA had a few years back that afforded us unlimited access to Madden up until release day.

10 hours is fine by me, but I'm wondering the logic behind the 10 hour access time limit, other than just calling it a 'trial'?
