WWE 2K16 News Post

The WWE has terminated Hulk Hogan and erased all records of his existence on their website, following leaked audio of a racial tirade he had 8 years ago.

2K Sports has confirmed with Polygon that he will not appear in WWE 2K16.

Quote:
Hogan will not appear in WWE 2K16, a 2K Sports representative told Polygon this afternoon.

"We are highly respectful of the way that our partners choose to run their business and manage our partnerships accordingly," the spokesperson said. "We can confirm that Hulk Hogan will not appear in WWE 2K16."

Asked about whether 2K Sports plans to remove Hogan from any previous WWE video games, the representative called it a "fair question," but said 2K Sports has "no other comments at this time.

With Donald Trumps recent racial comments about mexicans how can he remain in the WWE Hall Of Fame shouldn't he be abolished as well. I guess it's different rules for different people.

If I say "Donald Trump," most people wouldn't associate him with wrestling at all. If I say "Hulk Hogan," wrestling is absolutely the first thing that comes to almost everyone's mind because Hogan is essentially the face of the wrestling industry in popular culture.

http://whatculture.com/wwe/wwe-10-sh...aws-drop.php/2 a lot of these I had forgotten about but it's crazy what they've gotten away with.

This is not a test.

Like I said different rules for different people. I agree with you as that's true but it doesn't mean Trump should go unpunished either.

So why are so many of Hogans black friends like Foreman, Rodman,
Shaq, Virgil etc coming out defending him saying he isn't racist?

Not one person is coming out saying they've heard racist stuff out of
Hogan before. Just because he said it at the time doesn't mean he actually
truly believes it.

I come from a multi-cultural city my main friend circle is comprised
of people from all different cultures.

They say racist stuff to each other all the time either to their faces
or in private but none of them are truly racist.

Some people think joking about racism or saying it will help.
They like to get a rise out of people or whatever...

Obviously Hogan said it in a malicious way to some broad but
it doesn't mean he actually truly believes it and some of his black
friends who know him better then any of us are coming out saying
he isn't racist at all.

Except the part where, you know, the words that came out of his mouth were "I'm a racist".

I think it's funny how Vince Mcmahon is trying to Chris Benoit, Hulk Hogan. As it turns out, saying racist **** is the same as killing your wife & kid

More from the Hogan tape has been released.

They aren't the same, but as many others have said, you can't be uttering anything racist...period. If I said what he said, I would be fired from my jonb and rightfully so. It has no place in there. I never saw WWE compare Hogan with Benoit. People are saying that because the records are being deleted. It's also not saying Hulk and Benoit's actions are similar.

I was a huge Hogan fan as a kid and I'm sad that he's been fired and his legacy tarnished. Having said that, he got exactly what he deserved. No place for racists today

Probably the most I've laughed at any single post in my time at OS. Well done.

To be honest it is sad seeing some of the comments. If he was truly sorry then he would have apologized 8 years ago on his own and not because he was exposed. Because hey if he on his own came out and said the same stuff 8 years ago on his own then he probably would have been rehired by now and weathered the storm. He sued Gawker for a 100 mill to guarantee they would not show the whole tape to be exposed for the racist he is. Oh what he said was not a mistake he repea3tedly said it and admitted to being a little racist. Hey look you cannot relate because something was not directed towards you and I get that. To me his apology is fake because it seems he is only apologizing because he got caught which is weak to me and makes him phony. Yeah it was a private conversation and he is entitled to feel as he pleases but there are consequences when you get exposed, and when will celebrities learn nothing is private anymore since the age of the internet. Racist language of any kind should not be tolerated period, but I do not think he deserves the Benoit treatment.

How many times have you seen or read some guy that got dumped
by a GF or 2 say "I hate Women!" and "Bros before Hoes!" then
the next girl that comes their way become whipped and cut off their
friends for her?

People say stuff or proclaim stuff on raw emotion sometimes...

You could tell one of your friends that you "hate" your other friend
because you're pissed off or that's how you feel at the time but
you really don't...

Name the example...

"I hate women"

"I hate people from _______"

"I hate this race"

"I hate my family"

"I hate my friend ____"

People also tend to say stuff or proclaim stuff they think the
person they're confiding in wants to hear to usually impress them
or get in their good graces.

I've known people that tell me they're racist against this race then
all the people they hang out with and help their families are the race
they supposedly hate.

I'm sure the guys who have said the stuff you said were done in privacy and behind closed doors. Given that Hulk said it in bed, he had the misfortune of that tape going on the internet which outed him. It doesn't mean that the guy in your example less wrong because he wasn't caught. Hulk made some terrible statements. They were racist. End of story. Clearly he wasn't in some stupor or fit of rage. He was in bed with a companion. Honestly I don't know how people are defending this. He said terrible things, got fired and that's the end of it. Like I said before, try saying what he said at work. If you still have a job after all the power to you.

If Hulk had owned it before he was canned and outed, I could understand that WWE not being as harsh. He didn't and people are all over the WWE for doing what any other company would have done: protect their rep by firing someone who has sullied their rep

I guess the Washington Redskins players are racist as well as they wear the logo with no complaint. Now I'm just making a point so don't take it literally but if saying things makes you a racist then wearing imagery should has well.

I think some of these comments and examples are a little misguided. Its not a general committee or organization that arbitrarily decides what athletes are deemed racists, or what words or symbols are racist. Its a case by case basis, and general public acceptance.

This case, and solely this case, is WWE saying it was unacceptable for Hulk Hogan to stay employed after it was revealed he had made several comments that would devalue a public traded company and the owner made the decision to release an employee.

This has nothing to do with the NFL, MLB, other actors, other athletes, any other organization or the general public. The only reference it has to the public is the opinion of the public that would affect ad revenue and share price going forward.

Its up to each individual to decide how it affects their decision to continue to purchase or support the company or not based on their own level of forgiveness or morality.

By this logic wearing a Hulk Hogan shirt makes you what exactly....?
