WWE 2K16 News Post

The WWE has terminated Hulk Hogan and erased all records of his existence on their website, following leaked audio of a racial tirade he had 8 years ago.

2K Sports has confirmed with Polygon that he will not appear in WWE 2K16.

Quote:
Hogan will not appear in WWE 2K16, a 2K Sports representative told Polygon this afternoon.

"We are highly respectful of the way that our partners choose to run their business and manage our partnerships accordingly," the spokesperson said. "We can confirm that Hulk Hogan will not appear in WWE 2K16."

Asked about whether 2K Sports plans to remove Hogan from any previous WWE video games, the representative called it a "fair question," but said 2K Sports has "no other comments at this time.

Yeah, no. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen, especially since he was paid DLC in 2K15.

What he did was wrong I will say that, but COMPLETELY taking him away from what he built is just insane...he's being treated like Chris Benoit right now, if it wasn't for him and other greats the wwf wouldn't have become wwe.

I don't even watch WWE these days. I hadn't bought a wrestling game in years. Only reason I bought WWE 2k15 is because Hogan And Sting are in it. They better not take Hogan out of MY game that I paid for! The whole thing is utterly ridiculous...it was 8 years ago!

He's been Benoited. Hopefully there weren't any modes built around him and content has to be taken out because of it other than his model.

This is not a test.

I don't condone with what he said but I think it's a bit much & a knee jerk reaction. A heartfelt apology & enter a behavioral program would be a step in the right direction to make amends. If the WWE found out other wrestlers past indiscretions there probably would be alot of terminations.

Damn. This is extreme.

I think they overracted by quite a bit, but they are a public traded company, so I understand the extreme punishment. I just don't believe this will help reform Hogan one bit. Sad and unfortunate situation, TBH.

This is like the Ministry of Truth in 1984. They go back and revise history by removing one of their all-time greats from their record books? Besides, all this does is draw more attention to his comments (that is, I don't know what he said, but now I might research it).

The guy admits that he is a racist and calls a guy the N word but removing him from a video game is "insane" and an "overreaction"?

He deserves anything he gets at this point. He said some harsh harsh words.

The N word has no place in today's society. As much as I enjoy seeing Hogan around....what he said....man. He messed up.

Reed is comin' atcha!!

WWE is a publicly traded company now, this is something any major company would do when it comes to an iconic figure. What Hogan did was incredibly stupid and I'm glad wwe is cutting ties with him. As much as I was a Hulkamaniac growing up, **** like this has no place in today's society.

I wonder if wwe will try to scrub the N word from YouTube as well. You can find Booker T using it in a famous promo and even Vince drops it in some backstage promo. It's pretty unreal.

Like I said, not defending or justifying his racist and bigoted remarks but history is littered with known racists (Ty Cobb to name one) that we acknowledge today.

We need to deal with these sort of situations in a more constructive manner than just making him a pariah of the industry. Heavily fining him, having him do public speeches involving race relations (much like Mike Vick did with PETA to rehabilitate his image) and taking serious counseling would be a lot more helpful.

After extensive counseling, obviously. Of course no one has ever done speaking engagements for non-profit organizations after being involved in questionable activities or after being reformed.

Danny Trejo, Michael Vick and countless other individuals never had first hand knowledge and spoke up against their own past transgressions?!?!?!?

Are they erasing all his history in the company as well?

This is not a test.

Good, how someone can be racist makes no sense. It's like little kids arguing about their favorite color. Ridiculous.

If we learn of how hogan used his racism at work or outside of work to harm people then its justifiable, erase him completely. But if he is a racist in his own home around his friends, then i could care less. I lost respect for the man nonetheless and its hard to justify defending what he said if he called himself a racist. I would love to have a true an open discussion with him on why and other racist, sexist, homophobe and whatnot. He wasn't born a racist, his surroundings and experiences made him that way. But you eventually grow up and realize the world is never black and white but grey. You learn empathy. I hope he comes out of this a better man.

This is absolutely tragic man

I hope black people and sponsors can find the room to forgive him.
If you know anything about Hogan he talks a lot of nonsense ask
him something about a topic and he will give you 5 different answers.

Since he was going through a dark time in his life at the time he
was probably going through a bitter phase. Looking at his history
and his numerous black friends I have a hard time believing he
truly is racist.

As for the game its gonna suck that the biggest roster ever won't feature
the guy who started it all.
