I think TGC is the better deal. I feel the challenge level is the same as RM and I find the putting model better. You're guaranteed developer support and have endless course options.

What your missing is a single player mode, even RM paltry offering is better than TGC and you get no broadcast atmosphere. Frankly the commentator in TGC makes me want to drive nails in my skull.

From a value standpoint I just feel you get more for a better price than you do with RM. Or you can simply wait a month, RM will be on sale quickly and you'll have a far better idea what level of support EA will offer.

Well, considering PGA 15 has less than 10 courses, and The Golf Club has thousands, it's an easy decision. There are amazingly talented designers out there who have made some incredible courses. True art.

IMO, Rmpga is more of a pro golf experience where TGC is more of a hometown feel. If I could put TGC's overall control into ea's game engine with all the main pga courses and a full blown character creator, I'd never leave home!
I think that's pretty accurate for the most part. One thing that The Golf Club does great is the Ghost Rounds that your friends have played. Every night when I fire up the Golf Club, I get messages telling me which of my friends have played, and what they scored. With one click I can "play" against them (shot for shot, against their ghost). It's a great feature, and a great way to explore new courses.

Frankly, if EA had just remade TW14 with improved Next-Gen graphics and no load times I'd have paid $100 for it.

I do like the fact that on the higher swing difficulty you can SPRAY the ball off the tee. I've all also had a couple of approach shots end up wayward due to me trying to muscle my shots.

I might also add that more times than not when my tee shots went bad I found myself in a terrible situation. I've hit the shot limit a couple times already and it was due to my inaccuracy off the tee

This game is gonna be a Love/Hate relationship.

The more I play the more I am enjoying it.. I have all settings custom to the hardest and with the timing getting better on full swings thanks to the tempo thread here... I am really feeling the golf on the course. The short game requires more finesses in the tempo whereas full swing requires forward flick. Turning manual shot shaping on, also makes it much more difficult to set up and execute your shots. Yes, game is bare bones but presentation and feel wise I have already played this more in one sitting than I was ever able to on TGC which bored me after a little while.

I have to agree without the PGA license the golf club even with its abundance of courses
was missing something. The commentary was bland ....I have waited for this game and while not fantastic ...is good enough for me to log some serious minutes ....Playing as Jordan Speith is pretty cool ...or as I just did play with 2 controllers and play as two of my favorite golfers When Speith squared off vs Fowler ...pre-ordered so I got TPC Scottsdale
Very interested to see what they may add down the line ...As my gaming time is seriously
limited ...this game with its Tv presentation , tour players and courses get my tee time

^This. I sense that the demographics on this particular forum are a bit older than other sports games, I for one can't get indignant about the value of $60 in this day and age.

People who don't pick this up may be cutting off their nose to spite their face. The the best way to get good support from EA for this game is to support it on our end.

I have a feeling it is that way for people who do not know how golf works... they would be completely confused by striking lower to make the ball go higher and vice versa. this way it tells you if ball will fly higher or lower rather than where impact will be

...but... I'm sure it was correct in past versions, so maybe a glitch?

But I'd say more of a fool-proof design, which drives me nuts.

Well thank God I'm terrible at this game, lol, didn't do so hot in the prologue.

Not keen on the sound of the clubs hitting the ball. And is it me or does the cup look like a damn basketball hoop? It seems huge!

Anyway I'm on PS4, installed, says game is up to date but for some reason I can only "Play Now " or the prologue again... I have nothing in my downloads... Anybody seen this? I saw it talked about with the early access on x1, but this is the physical copy of ps4.

Thanks in advance

Edit: I had to delete the game and reinstall. Looks like 100mb update now, hopefully that's it.

Well said. The game does need significant work but nothing that cant be patched or DLC.

- the cannon putter and celebrations need to stop
- more courses
- immersive schedule and money
- more emotion added to winning or the intensity of the moment
- dynamic weather and times
- course conditions broken down by greens and fairways. Noticed Chambers plays awful soft compared to a month ago

The trajectory is what you're modifying with the R stick. It would be better if they didn't make it look like a ball, honestly. If they just made it a bunch of arrows on a graph or something, but yeah---up=loft, down=lower trajectory.

It's completely opposite of where you'd strike a ball, but it's not signifying that. It's indicating where you want the flight to go, so up/left means a high/draw shot.

From HANDSWARD on the EA RM forums:
Quote:
For those of you that are only seeing 2 menu options in the game, it is because the game has not completed the install and you are in the pre-installed version of the game that has limited features. I know this can be frustrating on PS4 because there is no progress bar of any sort to show you how it is doing and if you go to your storage it is going to say the full size of the game there cause that is what it says as soon as it starts installing. So here are a few things you should keep in mind:

- The game takes ~40 to 60 minutes to install while nothing is running on the console.
- If you suspend or shut down your console the install will stop.
- If you are playing the game or using other applications while the install is taking place then your install can be greatly slowed down.
- If you are downloading the game then the process will be even longer cause you have to download all 29 GB and install it all too.
- Make sure you have enough HD space to fit the game on your HD.

My best advice is to let the game install and leave your console running at the consoles menu. Go away, let it be, come back in an hour and boot the game up.

If you are still having issues having done all of this then please contact EA Customer Support for further assistance.

Correct. IRL Golf, you strike down on the ball and compress it to get height....it is almost the opposite in Golf games....

What kind of convoluted 1984 Double-Speak is this??? What is this, Opposite Day??

Here's the truth: If you keep paying for crap, they'll have NO incentive to fix it!

Is there really no option to view a replay of your shot in the game?

was never said by any EA employee. Not sure where you are getting that from. I wish I could talk all about it, but you guys will just have to be patient. We will announce information about Free Content Updates as soon as we are cleared to do so.

Not fair to say someones opinion is convoluted just because you don't agree. If nobody paid for it, they may give up altogether and we'd get nothing. I understand that people are upset by EA (everyone knows the hockey blunder) but, imo, it was better to have some hockey than none at all, so i bought it. Now they are bringing back the mode in NHL that made me love it so much so there is some redemption.

If you dont think RMPGA is worth 60 bucks then don't buy it, but you shouldn't act condescending to others that dont agree with you.
