Madden NFL 16 News Post

EA Sports has just posted their Madden NFL 16 presentation details. Madden fans will see "On the Field" cameras, which really get close to the action, during their biggest moments. Whether that be touchdowns, sacks or trash talking. They have also added a new Wirecam, which is similar to a broadcast Wirecam, but much better, since it is positioned right next to the QB.

Improving the crowds was one of the many improvements for Living Worlds. You will see crowd props, including rally towels for the stadiums that feature them, fan signs, foam fingers and female fans in the game. Crowd signs will be team specific, and you will see fans head track the action on the field. The stadium atmosphere has been improved with team specific chants and fight songs.

Everyone in the crowd and on the sidelines will wear official apparel from the NFL shop. This includes jackets, long sleeves, winter hats, and other weather-appropriate gear. Speaking of weather-appropriate gear, you won't see any members of the media wearing shorts or kneeling in the snow this year, you will see them in their appropriate colored media vests.

The Steadicam operator cameraman will be seen in various places during the game. He will actually come out on the field and get an ISO closeup shot after touchdowns. Some of the post play action shots will be seen from his vantage point.

Post-play behaviors continues to get a huge push with more signature celebrations and related content, as well as the addition of opposing team post-play interactions. There was a big focus on cleaning up behavior after the play, including pile avoidance, how players decelerate, and how/when they react with one another. The team also added new animations for when players are frustrated with whomever is on the other side of the line.

All-new “Drive Starters” add more context and storytelling to our commentary this year. Drive Starters take place on each change of possession, and provide storytelling commentary and visuals to highlight key performances and game trends. With more than 200 unique story types and hundreds of commentary improvements, Drive Starters tell the story of a game like never before.

On the audio side, the team went to great lengths to ensure Madden NFL 16 is the best-sounding game in franchise history. The return of EA Trax allowed us to implement several new events to play in stadiums during games, and new IR Reverb tech gives each stadium a whole new feel.

They definitely are aware man, it all comes down to time and priorities, I can ask, but I highly doubt they could address this in a patch.

Why exactly would this not be possible? 2K had that feature on OG Xbox 10 + years ago. There is no reason we should not be able to assign tracks to events. It's not that hard to set flags on those events and let us manipulate the track assignment. It would be harder to add your own music to it, but since both PS4 and Xbox 1 now support media streaming, there is no reason we could not use our own music.

I know exactly what you guys mean and I wonder why they have lines at all? i understand the need to record specific commentary at certain times but why not have them watch film and just talk about it? if you want to record what you want them to say about WR/DB interaction, show the footage of big matchups last year in the NFL and let them just talk.

I believe it can, I know the goals and xp stuff can.

I just don't get it. NCAA had tickers and in game scores TWO YEARS AGO. Can somebody help me...why can't they just rip that? I said this about CFM/Dynasty and I'll say it again about presentation. They just need to rip everything they have in Madden out and put everything they had in NCAA in and tailor it towards the NFL.

Completely different games.

Completely different franchise modes.

Not as easy as you think to just "rip" features from one game to another.

That's not going to happen...I read an article from SI that was posted a couple of years ago about things that EA had to take out because the NFL didn't want it. And one of those things was a more robust relocation option. The NFL didn't want teams to be called the Birmingham princesses or whatever. So until the NFL budges on that I can't see it happening.

Yea i read that article when you posted it the other day. The real question is why the NFL cares so much about what goes on in a video game. Do other leagues? I could be wrong but other games don't deal with that level of interference. Last time I played FIFA, NBA, NHL, and MLB they all had create a team features that let you play as whoever you want.

Also, Madden still has a create a player/coach/owner option right? So what is so different if you name a team the Princesses (underated name btw) or a character that?

I can understand them putting their foot down over off field stuff arrests and whatnot, but to care about team name/colors c'mon you've got much bigger fish to fry league.

And I've heard it mentioned by others, but with MUT and now Draft Legends included it seems like teambuilder would fit in naturally.
I know the MLB does it. Ejections for the most part have been removed. You can't argue with umpires. Also that's why that game doesn't have a relocation or stadium creator. And the reason they care is because of brand image. The NFL's brand image could be argued to be pretty bad right now. For multiple issues like Concussions, the inconsistency of Goodell as a commissioner on suspensions, the domestic violence issues.

still no user-defined camera....no purchase

FOM is very strict about what is allowed in the F1 games. The various leagues do care about how they are represented in video games.

Other leagues don't have the Ginger Hammer as their commissioner.

The NFL is more controlling of their imagae than any other league in all of their business relationships - it's not just like that for video games.

Would have been nice if they proved this year would be different with a video.
I thought I saw a screen shot from the blog with women in the stands, appropriate winter gear(no more summer clothes) and terrible towels.

Am I missing something?

I'm a huge a franchise mode guy so gameplay and presentation have been the remaining barriers between Madden/EA and my cash. The gameplay videos posted thus far haven't impressed in the least. I was hoping the presentation announcement would compensate... but it has been equally underwhelming. Still I will withhold final judgement until some footage of the finished product

Like I said I get some of the restrictions, but I fail to see how me playing as the Birmingham Princesses in my own living room could ever affect their brand image. By that logic all the other games I mentioned would have the same impact on their sports. FIFA doesn't have the greatest image right now, but last I played they had a website almost identical to teambuilder.
Yea there is no more creation center in FIFA and there is no create teams in the MLB.

We dont?

We have pictures that show sideline people wearing appropriate gear.

We have videos from E3 showing increased crowd intelligence.

FIFA does not own the branding rights to anything other than the World Cup and the organisation itself. The teams are licensed via the different leagues, and outside the MLS you aren't dealing with franchises but independent clubs. Consequently no one party has enough muscle to make the same demands as a franchised single competition sport like the NFL.

This is off topic and has nothing to do with presentation. Last warning.

True about the crowd, but irrelevant to you might be relevant to most people as well.

You would be wrong. There are plenty of people who complained constantly about people wearing shorts during cold weather games.
