It is this prompt information that makes OS stand out as the place to be.

To add, this is exactly the type of information I LOVE to hear; I wanna know details, and Rex does a great job explaining details of what is going on behind the game..

Rex says, "I am not blowing smoke up his @ss." <- Gotta appreciate someone willing to be honest with what they like about their product and feel are lacking in their product, but hope to rectify..

I'd have a beer with Rex..And talk girls and football of course.

Rex can say all he wants and nothing against him at all but as he knows,we don't want to hear it anymore,we need to see it.It's obviously appearing to be getting better.Let's get this years version released and see what we have.

Appreciate the interview. But as always, what is said may not always be reflected in the product.

Rex talks about gang tackling. Sounds as if they "solved" the issue, but I still frequently see "issues/concerns" where the second/third defender doesn't make a "physics" based impact on the ball carrier.

I am quoting myself below.

Two examples:
(A) Positive
(B) Negative (cosmetic tackle that has no real impact)

@6:28 - 6:36 Loving the sequence here ...
where it appears each tackling defender has an impact on the running back. You can see the running back stumble just a little bit with each defender making contact. Need to see more of this. There is not enough of this.

However, there are still "gang" tackle that happens that are simply cosmetic only where the second and third defender doesn't truly make an impact that physically alters the ball carrier.

@8:40 - 8:46 mark. Example Hating the "cosmetic, no impact" sequence here
Falcons #55 and #26 goes after the ball carriers leg, and neither of them affects the ball carrier.

@6:33 mark
I even love the "pissed" off falcons throwing #25 patriots blocker away in disgust. However, what I don't like is the "warping" that happens (6:33 mark) where #25 warps into a blocking position.

Loving the close up camera angel shot of #25 getting up (6:38 - 6:42). Very fluid looking. Still would like to see the play selection screen not cover so much of the screen up.

Happy to hear the "disengage block angle" is gone. It drove me crazy whenever the entire d line broke free at the exact same to smother me.

Rex comes across as a stand up guy. I appreciate his transparency & direction he's taking the game. I think we're in good hands with him on board.

Let's put it this way.

When 25 was released in November of 2013, he did a interview that was conducted with Rich Grissom with Clint. Rich asked us for questions prior to the interview.

WR/DB interraction question came up and Rex said if not in next years edition, it will be in the next one. check

He was asked about penalties and getting them to work properly. He said if not next year, it will be in the following one. check

So, based on that information, his track record history is fairly good.

He was also asked about gang tackling and last year in the live stream he mentioned how it's not where we want it, we have organic falls this year, but we're making an investment to build on it for the future. Check

Can I ask you how you base your perception on since Rex came aboard?

Or are you going back to the dark ages from 2006-2013?

Personally, for me, my perception since Rex came aboard is that he's been spot on with what they have delivered.

Rex is great for the Madden; I have full confidence in him and love what he is doing for Madden.

A few thoughts from the interview:
Rex is noticeably more involved and excited for this interview than others. When he does interviews with other media sources who are not big football guys (the GT and IGN vids) he is much more scripted and dull. In this interview I loved how he went into real detail to explain some of the things they did. I believe him when he says he wants to make a sim football game.

I do have to say however, that the interviewer could have been less of a hype man.

Still, great info here.
But all that said, I'm still in the no buy camp.

I will give him praise for implementing these improvements but have to save my enthusiasm until the game drops and everything is working as advertised within reason. You can say I'm cautiously optimistic.

AGREE, cause how can ratings matter if players do the same thing at the same time?

# 14 ch46647 @ 06/19/15 08:40 PM
Did he mention anything about realistic movement and locomotion? (See PES Soccer as a great example, FIFA as well)

Did he mention anything about player differentiation and animations to go along with it? (See NBA 2k and The Show as great examples)

I believe he mentioned both, I know he mentioned the first one.

There's actually some of that in Madden 16 as people have pointed out. I.E. Lesean Mccoy ball carrying style.

I dont know why Elite Corners vs Elite receivers is something he wants to get to. Isn't that already in place this year?

That makes sense. I was worried that ratings didn't have an effect on animations.

I was really leaning to not getting this game, but i got to be honest, after not only watching this video, but listening to the interview, regardless to what's been said in the past, this is the present, and not one of us is in any position to judge anyone.

listening to the radio show on sim's site as well, some things that was said really hit home for me as a gamer, Sim i thank you for you and your squad for helping get madden where it needs to be, same as jpdavis. keep up the good job fellas, the honesty in rex and sim voice and seeing the video, sold my pre-order. see yall on the grid iron.

Storm.
